Located in the forests of the Shroud, the Oak Inn tavern and inn lays nestled in the valley of the Lavender Beds. A freshly built property, its exterior is made of finely lumber and stone, soft shadows catching its white hue and making it soothing to the eye. A roof as green as the dappled leaves of the Shroud covers the housing. The stone wall around the property is opened with hedges and small lattice windows to give it a welcoming look, and the yard is equipped with a stable for patron's birds and mounts. Among the grass of the yard is a plethora of seating, hedged in by the homegrown vegetables that the inn is known for putting in their hearty stew.
An old cannon, once clearly rusted and worn, is displayed in the front of the property. It has clearly been cleaned and oiled into a new life recently... It appears now simply to be a yard ornament, but the freshly cast cannon balls in the crate at its side seem to attest differently. A pond rests beside the entrance, koi swimming lazily beneath the surface. The Inn's banner flutters gently above the banded door.
Within, the owner and bartender, Liriel Kaza, is always found behind the counter during open hours, ready to tend to customers as they come and go. There is plenty of seating, lanterns always casting a light glow across the ground floor. The scent of warm food can be detected event from the first floor as it wafts up from the kitchens below. The cook, Gale, is always about and always has a regular pot of fresh stew or soup, which she tends to periodically throughout the day to ensure it does not go bad or cook down. Tenants are allowed to help themselves to the food, and Gale and her assistant Anders, always ensure there is fresh fruit, vegetables, nuts and bread available. During evening hours, the two cooks prepare hot meals for customers... which the adorable-but-clumsy waitress Herfang, known affectionately as Fae, serves.
Downstairs alongside the kitchen are two baths, one done up in blues and pinks, intended for women, and another done in bolder reds, intended for men. Upstairs, however, is the entrance to the lounge and a hallway leading to rent-able rooms and the rooms for the tenants of the establishment. The flame of the fireplace crackles gently, greeting those that would crest the stairs of the inn, welcoming them to read a book and enjoy a hot beverage or a cold drink as tenants and stay-overs come and go, telling their tales and living their lives in this, the new Astral Era...

Menu
Food-wise, the Oak Inn does not keep a proper menu in the sense that a restaurant might, with different things to order given the customer's whim. Instead, the cook makes a general tavern meal per evening, with the meal itself varying by seasons and available ingredients. The main course, so to speak, is almost always a hearty menu item of some kind, with meat pies, stews, soups and roasts being commonplace, as are roasted or baked in-season vegetables. Gale also keeps a wide array of greens to make side salads and seasonal fruits. She also keeps warm rolls by the oven. Deserts and pastries are kept behind the bar, which Liriel tends. The types that she has are influenced by the available seasonal produce.
