Appearance:
Standing at a mere four-fulms ten-ilms, this petite Keeper's surprisingly small stature is one of the first things people take notice of. Though once pale, her skin has since been tanned, as result of years of exposure the harsh light of the Othardian sun. In her youth, Soeli oft wore long tailored robes, fit for a true Kugane native; however, since leaving the city she has opted for more combat-appropriate garments made of light fabrics and leather, as to keep her mobile in battle. Her light hair is cropped short and choppy, the result of letting her fatuous Mentor tend it when it had grown too long. Despite being petite, Soeli is a bit curvier than most Miqo'te women. Her face is oval-shaped with thin pale blue eyes.

Personality:
Stubborn to a fault. Soeli is driven and very passionate. Once her decision is made, there is no chance of stopping her or changing her mind. As bright as the sun, she is courageous and filled with a wild curiosity of the world that has for so long laid just beyond her sight. She is kind, propelled by her desire to find her lost Guardian. When at first she does not succeed, she will try, and try, and try again until her muscles ache and her hands are numb. While she strives to help others, she can be selfish and struggles to see things from other's eyes. She oft becomes restless from remaining in one place for too long. Do not be fooled by her seemingly feeble appearance, as Soeli is quite hotheaded, defiant and not afraid of a brawl.

Combat
Bow & Arrow. As her mother did, Soeli discovered she had a particular gift for shooting bow and arrow at a young age. Now, through years of diligent training under her since missing Guardian, she has all but perfected the art of archery. However, with little experience in combat to actually make use of her skills, it is almost obvious that, when the time arose, she would be overwhelmed by her enemy.
Red Magic After nearly being killed by beast greater than herself on the cusp of the Ruby Sea, Soeli was saved by a strange mage wielding a rapier as a weapon. Given little choice, the eccentric Red Mage took Soeli under her wing, turning her into her pupil and training her in the ways of Red Magic. Quickly, Soeli became enchanted by the little known magic, and has since poured her heart and soul into perfecting her skills alongside her Mentor.
Martial Arts. While it is important to know how to wield a sword, it is also important to be quick and nimble and having additional resources at your disposal, should your weapon be knocked from your grip. In addition to Red Magic, Soeli's Mentor has also instructed her in the ways of hand-to-hand combat to give her an extra edge should she find herself without her rapier.

Before the Sun
Soeli hails from a rather unusual family. Her mother, Nhagi, from a small tribe of Keepers centered in the Black Shroud, while her father C'linh, was a Keeper working on a merchant vessel in Limsa Lominsa. After her mother's tribe was wiped out in a territorial conflict, Nhagi fled the Black Shroud. She stumbled upon the young Boatswain, C'linh Tia, in Limsa Lominsa and soon joined his crew aboard a merchant trade ship. Over their travels together, the pair grew closer, and eventually (although unofficially) bonded. Kugane was among the many port cities they would visit--Nhagi, quite fond of it in particular.
During their time spent in the Otharidan port city, they made many friends, one of which was the stoic and ever-grumpy Xaela, Altantsetseg Bayaqud. Nhagi's heart soon began to sway and she would later come to start one long affair with the Xaela man, sneaking away in the darkest hours of the night to visit him in his private chambers. It was not long after this, Nhagi discovered she was pregnant with Soeli. For months she lived in fear that her child would be born half-Au Ra, more than relieved to find Soeli born devoid of any scaly characteristics. Once Soeli was old enough to be on her own, Nhagi returned to work on the merchant ship, leaving the tiny miqo'te in the care of Alta, who became like a second father to her. It was not long after Soeli's fifth birthday when the news came in; a Eorzean merchant vessel had been attacked by pirates at sea. None of the crew members survived.
Early Life
Having lost both parents when she was only five, Soeli was raised in the company of her adoptive Guardian; a tall Xaela samurai named Altantsetseg Bayaqud, who had chosen to abandon his tribe long ago to live in the confines of the port-city Kugane. Under the care of Alta, Soeli learned the art of archery, a skill which she discovered she had a proficiency for. He also taught the young miqo'te how to read and write as well. The two were very close, Soeli almost never away from the large Xaela's side. He cared for her as if she were his own child. However, as Soeli grew older, she began to more closely resemble her mother, whom Alta had given his heart to long before Soeli was born. Unable to cope with the ghost of Soeli's mother haunting him, Alta fell into a dark depression, eventually abandoning Soeli when she was only fourteen moons old. Where exactly he went is unknown, but unaware of the reason for his disappearance, Soeli has made her goal to find him and bring him back.
The adoptive father and guardian of Soeli. Alta abandoned his nomadic tribe to live within the walls of Kugane. He often spent his free time strolling the markets, keeping open to any interesting stories he could overhear passed between the city's curious visitors. Not long after meeting her, Alta fell madly in love with a beautiful Keeper woman named, Nhagi. Although she was promised to another, the two met in secret and shared many nights together. Distraught by her death, Alta fell into a deep depression that was lifted slowly with time by his love's bright daughter. However, the resemblance between the mother and daughter haunted him until one day, he simply disappeared.
