GENERAL INFORMATION
Val'faria Rhiki (Pronunciation: Val-fah-riia), is the first daughter of Val'rhiki Fareeha and older twin-sister of Val'rasha Rhiki. She started out as an adventurer in Limsa Lominsa, but soon, fate struck when she was near death and received the blessing of the echo by Hydaelyn herself. From then on, her path differed strongly from what she had in mind. She once was very cheerful, but loss and suffering made her the way she now is. She's very curious by nature, values honesty and loyalty over everything and she has great respect for people who don't act selfish. Faria is an active traveller and when she's not busy with an adventurers work, she takes care of her free company, she founded some years ago. Thanks to her origins in Limsa, she likes drinking as much as the company of likeminded people.
Thanks to her travels, she got to know much about the world and its inhabitants. From the sunny coast of Vylbrand to the snowy mountains of Ishgard to the exotic city of Kugane, she has seen a lot. Even the legendary floating city of Azys Lla. On her journey, she fund many comrades and friends, but she also lost many of them in battle.
Even though she's a Miqo'te, she doesn't feel attached to any tribes and she despises most of the males of her race by heart.
After being involved in many conflicts and struggles, she believes that any kind of compromise is just postponing problems. Therefore her solutions to problems often appear very radical and final. As the daugther of a former high ranked soldier of the Maelstrom, Val has a strong sense of responsibility even though she actually doesn't like it. Everyone who becomes her comrade or friend can be sure, that she'd walk through fire for them.
APPEARANCE
She may not look like it, but even though she is not one for make-up and the likes, she always tries to wear clothing that fits the occasion, preferable light clothes that don't hinder her movements. She keeps herself in shape but even though she is physically well trained, she does not appear very muscular. She posesses a lot of stamina and she is probably much stronger than she appears, but most of the time Faria doesn't show it.
Her hair is jet-black with golden streaks and her haircut mostly changes from short to shoulder long, depending on how much time she has left for visiting the barber. Unlike her mother, which had two different eye colors, Farias are simply golden. She's very moody but for strangers she probably appears to be a friendly, openminded person who likes smiling. Those who know Faria often see her thoughtful with eyes deep as the Ruby Sea itself.
PERSONALITY
Open-minded. Loyal. Responsible When she was still living in Limsa, working as a waitress in the "Drowning Wench", she was cocky, cheerful and always up for adventures. But when she was near death and received the echo, she started to question things more often. She always believed that fighting for the greater good was something, that was romanticised in books, until she was forced to do it herself. And she learned that there was nothing glorious in it. Only loss, suffer and pain. When Val'rhiki died during a mission on the sea, Faria was convinced that her mothers death was meaningless and she wanted to avoid the same fate.
While she participated in the assault on Castrum Meridianum she finally learned that the world is not as black and white as she was supposed to see it. She could relate to the motives of some garleans even though she didn't completely agree and later when the adventurers got access to the holy city of Ishgard, she learned that many problems seem to be caused by religion and politics. From there on, she doubted the reasoning behind her doings and even though she is always completely aware of what she is capable of, she often refrains from using it to its full extent.
She values loyalty and honesty and get's very vengeful if she is betrayed. While usually keeping her cool in most situations, it's betrayal and lies where she snaps and gets angry. And it's those situations, where she changes from the objective strategist to a hot-headed warrior.

During her travels, Val often had to make questionable choices and even though her decisions seemed to be the right ones, she started doubting them. She feared that along the way she had lost a lot of her morality. Lately she spends a lot of time with just sitting around, thinking and drinking. She somehow feels forced to fight battles and the echo is a curse for her, not a blessing because Faria feels herself forced to fight in Hydaelyns name. Why else would she have received it?

COMBAT & WEAPONRY
Val has always been a quick learner and she's very fast when it comes to adapting. Her guess is that this comes thanks to the echo, but she doesn't know for sure. Over the last few years she learned many disciplines of war and magic and created her own way of fighting. But while she appears to be a jack of all trades, she actually only excells at marksmanship with bows as well as fighting with a short sword.
She started out as an archer, unlike her mother who was a great arcanist. Later on she learned the forgotten arts of being a bard and improved even further as the time went on.

While she trained hard to master the arts of marksmanship, she someday felt, that she was lacking when it came to close quarters combat and so she decided to learn the use of swords. Her journey brought her to Ul'dah, where she aquired the skills of a free paladin. However, she wasn't fond of wielding a shield and so she created her own version of the paladin style, completely without a sword.
"You don't need a shield if the enemy can't hit you."
Later on she gathered even more fighting styles and learned how to use magic. And even though she put a lot of effort in it, she never achieved the mastery of those, who are truly dedicated to these disciplines.
Over the course of her journey, Val'faria aquired lots of weapons, but no one was of special emotional value for her. She did however create an artificial soul together with a young scientist and the legendary blacksmith Gerolt, just like many adventurers. Since that day, her weapons work as body for the soul Anima.
