A conversation with him usually ends in awkward silence or intense anger. Or both! The Xaela obviously has several unresolved personal issues, but mainly keeps to himself. He is a Bounty Hunter, working for whoever will pay in vast sums of gil. He doesn't care who is getting offed or why the job needs to get done, which makes him the perfect stooge for any sort of meaningful or petty revenge. So long as you have gil, you have a hired gun. APPEARANCE The man behind the hand cannons is not vastly different looks-wise from any other Xaela foreigner to make his way to Eorzea. His skin is only somewhat tanned, which causes his darkened scales to stand out rather easily. A short, fat gator-like tail sticks out from his rear, which is wiggling slowly on a constant basis. His most distinct features are his glowing blue Limbal Rings and his height. The Wasp is actually quite short in comparison to the rest of his brethren, which is something of a sensitive topic for him. His attire also varies, based on the job or setting he is in. Wasp has a decent amount of connections around Eorzea based on his many cycles of work, which includes both Garlond Ironworks and Garlemald traders and sympathizers. This usually means he can get what he needs in terms of appropriate armour and other accessories rather easily. Casual clothing appears on the more modern side, and his horns, fingers and wrists are adorned with magitek. PERSONALITY Greedy. Silent. Angry. The Wasp has not had an easy time of it, and his behaviour and outlook has been shaped based on his experiences in his life. Though he is not yet middle-aged, The Wasp is clearly beyond his late 20s, and has known many trials in his cycles so far. He only trusts himself and his machines, which obey him without question. There are few in his inner circle, and when he is not prowling for jobs or out doing them, he keeps himself hidden away in a safe house. As one may imagine, this type of man is not the most personable, and getting any sort of emotional answer out of him may be a lesson in futility. The Wasp is often seen as cruel, heartless, selfish and other hateful words, but there are always two sides to every story. Perhaps one day someone will be patient enough to know the truth through this hunter's eyes. Or maybe he'll be dead well before then. Wasp has a very thick Othard/Xaela Tribal accent when he does speak, and often uses the whistles and clicks when performing jobs. He has programmed his Magitek Bit and other equipment to understand the sounds as orders to perform tasks. This allows him to act discreetly while still in front of people, and they have no idea what he's doing--that is, unless they too are native of the Geneq. It is clear that while The Wasp has left his homeland and traditions behind, he uses what he does know to his own advantage. The Wasp's aim is often true. He is a patient and thorough sniper. Tech Freak. He has a lot of shiny toys and knows how to use them. Turrets, Magitek, guns, grenades, and other goodies. His supplies are as endless as the gil he rakes in from bounties. Honour Code. To an outsider's view, The Wasp may seem like a careless killer for cash. However, he does have his own set of "moral" guidelines that he sticks to constantly. Cool Head. Wasp does have several issues, but when he's fighting or on a job, he rarely lets emotions get the better of him. WEAKNESSES Murderer. The Wasp does not value life. At least, not in the way most of society does. Bottled Up. He has several repressed memories that he keeps to himself. They continue to fester and drive him to this day. Magicks. Wasp focuses on technology and does not know much of his or others' aether or how it works. It is a real weakness in battles since coming to Eorzea, where aether is more widely used. Language Barrier. The Wasp's native tongue is that of the Geneq and cross-tribe languages. He does not speak Eorzean well, but he understands more than he can say. COMBAT & WEAPONRY The Wasp is a Machinist, able to do a range of things with technology, both Eorzean and otherwise. Usually, when performing his job, he snipes the targets. If that is not possible, subterfuge, infiltration, or an in-your-face close range approach are utilized. He sticks with using rifles, pistols, any other types of firearms. However, he will also use bombs, explosives, turrets of varying styles, and any other type of tech he can get his hands on. He excels at taking things apart and putting them back together. TRIBE INFORMATION Though The Wasp stays mostly tight-lipped about himself, it would be easy to find a certain source of information of his heritage. Good luck getting him to talk much about it in person, though. Below are the given descriptions of each tribe he has been a part of before his time in Eorzea began. ■ Geneq - In addition to the standard language used by most of the Xaela in cross-tribe communication, the Geneq employ a complex system of whistles and clicks which resemble the cloud- and wavekin of the steppe. ■ Buduga - An all-male tribe which only increases its ranks through battle and kidnapping. If your character is seeking him, it would be best to pinpoint him out in the world. City Dweller: The Wasp has known go-to locations in every major city-state, including Ishgard. Bar Hopper: He frequents bars and taverns quite a bit, basically anywhere. Gambler: Though maybe rare, the Wasp does enjoy gambling and tactical games at the Gold Saucer. ABOUT THE PLAYER Hello! My name is Amy, I'm 30 years old, and I am a seasoned roleplayer, having started all the way back in guilds on Neopets. Yep, that was a thing. I have not played many MMOs, but I have experienced Maplestory, Aion, and Guild Wars 2. I love FFXIV far more than any of those other games, and have been playing it since trying out the PS3 beta before launch. THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND... I'm very easygoing. I don't tend to stress or get freaked out by anything too easily. (Just don't mention spiders. D: ) My time is limited. In addition to work, I have a husband, family, dog, cat, future chickens, a house, and life that need tending to--RP is not my life! It is a past-time. If an RP premise does not sound like something my characters would do or if I just don't have time for it, I will tell you up front. I roleplay my character as my character, not me! It took a lot of experience and practice to learn the separation between character and myself, but I think I have it down reasonably well. Everyone has a bit of themselves in a character, sure, but I do not roleplay as myself. Please do not ever take anything my character says/does as my own view of things. I do not work that way! GUIDELINES Overall, I'm pretty chill as far as guidelines go. I don't have an extensive list of 'Do's or 'Don't's or things that I personally find upsetting. So chances are, you won't offend me or make me uncomfortable unless you're trying to or just being really skeevy in general. Still, for the sake of making sure everyone's on the same page here, let me make a few mentions in particular: I WILL NOT... Break the lore of the game to include your character concept or plot. Sorry, I am a stickler for this. SE gives us such a vast world to play around in with plenty of ways to bend and weave things to create our own fun. Adding, removing or toying around with their world/magicks/races/history is not something I tolerate in RP. You are free to do as you want, but please respect if I do not change my views of the lore for your sake. Publicly engage in any sort of highly questionable content. Some things, not even always sexual, have a specific time and place. If I feel an RP is getting too risque or otherwise for a public setting, I will probably ask for it to continue elsewhere or simply leave. I'm not a prude, and neither are some of my characters, but I always aim to maintain respect for my friends. I WILL... Roleplay romance and sensual scenes. If it comes up, sure! :D I am not against or uncomfortable with romantic RP, but I usually tend to keep it in Skype or out of a public setting in game. Abide to your logical headcanon. Usually. I am all for getting creative with the lore, so long as it stays within the parameters of the world! I do this for my own characters, as well, so please feel free to poke me if something doesn't make sense. I am always willing to back up my actions and thoughts. Participate in fight/sparring RP. Most of my characters are fighters, so I am open to dueling or actual fights between characters. Please just set the parameters of the fight with me OOCly, so I know how to write and what to expect!
