Due to her rather sheltered upbringing, she could be considered by many to be socially challenged, often lacking an understanding in even the most basic of concepts people often take for granted. While occasionally willing to tolerate improving her poor understanding of society, she generally tries to steer conversations towards hunting, hunters, or food. She greatly respects most other hunters and is quick to make friends with them. APPEARANCE Tyo stands slightly shorter than the average Miqo'te, but don't let this huntress' size fool you, she has proven herself time and time again against the much larger beasts of Eorzea. Her bright yellow eyes often peer out from behind a head of messy hair, whose color often changes depending on the environment she plans on hunting in. While often she dyes her hair and her tail a shade of black or dark blue, her natural color is much brighter; a blue that nearly matches the sky on a cloudless day. A mostly nocturnal hunter, Tyo's skin is quite pale, especially when put in contrast with a diurnal hunter. Her skin tells a tale of a life long hunter, many close encounters with the beasts of Eorzea leaving permanent reminders on her skin. Tyo tends to shy away from very revealing clothing in public settings, meaning that most of her scars often go unnoticed, save for the couple that adorn her face. PERSONALITY Determined. Inquisitive. Kinetic. Tyo is first and foremost a true hunter at heart. She believes it has been her intended calling every since she was a small child, and while her brothers and sisters might have strayed from that path, she has remained true. Unfortunately this lack of experience has led her to be rather one minded in her interests. This has left her in a fairly poor position in society as a whole, which Tyo has noted encourages diversified skill sets and interests. LIKES Hunting. While some hunters claim their favorite part of the hunt is the kill, Tyo finds her own enjoyment in all aspects of the art nearly equal. Whether it be the adrenaline rush that comes from the takedown, to the satisfaction of seeing hours, sometimes even days, of preparation come to fruition, chances are Tyo will be able to chat for hours about each and every part. Meat While not adverse to fruits or vegetables, if one really wanted to catch the little huntress' attention, they would need to do little more than put a well prepared cut of meat in front of her. Though she would never eat any beast she did not have a hand in killing,even the faintest wiff can make her lose any sense of focus she might have managed. It is also worth noting that she does not particularly seem to prefer any one beast or even cooking method, and has been known to become quite dismayed if someone suggests they do not like a particular type of meat. Naps Because who doesn't? It takes a lot of work being the best hunter in the guild, or at least that is Tyo's justification for why she will spend every chance she gets to cuddle up to something soft and sleep anywhere from 30 minutes to a couple of hours, depending on the quality of the resting place. Sharing experiences. While not really one to collect trophies, Tyo loves to tell anyone willing to listen about her previous hunts and how she cleverly overcame whatever difficulties that came her way.Of course part of sharing means that she occasionally has to listen as well, which as long as the topic stays on hunting or something related to that, then she has no problems being quiet. DISLIKES Elezen. A product of her youth, Tyo has a firm distaste for the long-eared people of both varieties. Though she would never attack one without provocation, she would never willingly work with one that was not apart of her guild. She has learned over time that such racism is generally not tolerated and as such will attempt to keep her opinions on the backstabbers to herself. Recklessness. The bane of every good hunter, or at least in her opinion. As a huntress that often hunts as a matter of survival, Tyo has learned the value of patience and planning and received a very harsh lesson on why reckless behavior is rarely successful. From her point of view, reckless behavior is the first general sign of an individual that has no concern for the safety of his fellow hunters. Academics. Frivolous and a waste of time. Why would someone seek to experience something out of a book when they could go and see it for themselves? While Tyo generally favors a hands-on approach to learning, she is not above reading about an unknown creature she seeks to hunt. Though some would argue that she is participating in academics herself, she instead regards this practice as preparation. Crowds.Unfortunately, due to her isolate uprising, Tyo has developed a fear of crowds. In large gatherings, she will tend to isolate herself and keep herself busy unless approached. This isn't to say she doesn't like the individuals in the crowd, but rather she has become acutely aware of her lack of social graces. STRENGTHS Preparedness. Tyo deeply believes that the best way to conduct a hunt, or any business at all, is to be as prepared as possible. Before she conducts a hunt she will first learn as much information of the species as she can, then and only then will she begin preparations. Though to others, the amount of knowledge she acquires might appear to be overkill, she has learned that even minor details could possibly save her or one of her fellow hunter's lives. This bleeds into her social life as well, leading her to be slightly reserved until she knows exactly the type of person she is dealing with. With some individuals she takes this a step further and crafts a battle strategy if she feels it necessary. Crafty. As someone that likes to pride themselves as an adaptable individual, Tyo is someone that often works with her hands to create things. This includes things such as traps, survival equipment, and makeshift tools and weapons. Trap Making As one with limited combat skills, Tyo instead chooses to win her battles before they ever begin. In order to achieve this, she combines her planning with her trap making ability. Tyo's traps take many different forms depending on what is needed, and can comprise of traditional traps such as snares and nooses, to blinding powders and liquids, to even more complex and nuanced inventions. One thing that she will not do however, is use poison when hunting animals as it leaves the meat inedible. Tracking In a hunt she considers this to be one of her most useful skills. In familiar environments she has an almost uncanny ability to locate tracks and stalk her prey. WEAKNESSES Overconfident. While she understands that not everything can be planned for, Tyo is surprisingly confident in her plans. In general if a plan of hers fails or shows signs of failing, she will quickly retreat (which is usually her only back-up plan). If the option to retreat is not available then...who knows what will happen. Stubborn Just as she is adaptable in some ways, Tyo is conversely very rigid in others. When Tyo gets it in her mind that one method is correct, she is very slow to change her mind. She tends to trust her initial impressions and will only change them when doing otherwise would be unreasonable. Trusting Due to exposed to mostly her family has lead her to be a rather trusting individual. While this doesn't mean she attempts to see the good in everyone, she does however believe everything at face value (unless shown evidence to the contrary)In addition, she herself is often a little too honest, not quite understanding the purpose behind telling a lie. CURRENT INVENTORY This is a list of the items that CHARACTER currently is keeping on THEIR person. Feel free to use this information if it comes up logically in the course of RP, such as pickpocketing, a search, etc. Last Updated: 1/16/2017. Chocobo Feather: A simple yellow chocobo feather. It appears quite old if one were to closely examine it. Bits of String: Strangely one might find various lengths of string in her pockets at any given time. The material, length, and strength of the string varies from weak plant material, to stronger steel wire. Blinding powder: Along the straps on her belt, one would find several small bamboo containers. These containers would be quite easy to open, ready to reveal their nefarious secret concealed inside. Each of the containers contains a finely ground powder mixture made up of glass, sand, and pepper Firesand: Inside of a thick leather satchel at her side, Tyo carries several fistful portions of firesand. The sand itself isn't anything special, though if one were to closely inspect the composition, they might notice several bits of flint contained within each one. MISCELLANEOUS INFORMATION COMBAT & WEAPONRY Tyo prides herself in being adaptable in her hunting style and ability, and to this end she has become skilled with several weapons. Her most often used weapons are her bow, her daggers, and on occasion her spear (though it is mostly for fishing). While she does use these weapons proficiently when fighting beasts, Tyo's experience with other skilled combatants is quite limited. In these instances, Tyo prefers to fight from afar, picking off her opponents with a few well placed shots. Since she has started her adventuring career, she has improvised a fighting style using both of her daggers, using a combination of arm and leg locks before using her blades to deal the final blow, though fighting in melee would be the last resort for this Miqo'te. Bow Tyo is never too far off from her trusty bow, seeing it as the safest and most reliable form of combat. The huntress greatly prefers to have the first attack, knowing that in real combat, the first blow is often fatal (especially if the victim never sees it coming). Through her adventuring career, Tyo has acquired several bows, ranging from miqo'te shortbows, to allagan compound bows. All of these bows are adorned with small planks of blessed wood, allowing her to channel aether into her weapon and arrows. Often she chooses to channel wind, allowing her a variety of techniques she would normally not have, including altering the course of her shot, using the wind to tear her enemies apart, or even increase the velocity of her arrow to puncture the toughest of armors. Daggers Tyo's trusty daggers are nothing special, nor is her ability to use them. She uses her size, speed, and natural dexterity to slip herself into an advantageous position, and strike her opponent's weak points. Because she often tends to try and keep herself safe during combat, she tends to only like to use her daggers against larger foes if she can help it. In these cases she will cling to a spot her mark cannot easily reach and launch an assault of painful and repeated stabs. Aetheric Ability In comparison to a proper conjurer or mage, Tyo's magical abilities are rather lacking. However she makes up for her lack of power and diversity, in the form of application. Currently she is only able to user her limited power to conjure wind magic, and when she uses this in conjunction with her other natural abilities, the results can be quite deadly. In addition to improving her archery performance, she is also able to use the aether to augment her physical performance as well, improving her speed and reaction time for a short amount of time. Traps Chances are, if Tyo has engaged a foe in combat, you can bet she has some sort of traps laying in wait. The danger here lies in variety. From improvised traps such as blinding powder, poisons, and makeshift grenades to prepared traps such as bear traps, snares, and nooses, Tyo is not shy about using a bit of creative deception in claiming her goal. EXPERIENCE LOG Here is a list of recent and/or notable fights, roleplay scenes, etc. that CHARACTER has been a part of. This list is by no means all inclusive, and serves more as a general reference as to what HE/SHE has been up to. Griffon: Bow. Eager to prove herself to the new company, Tyo signed up in a hunting tournament along with three other companions. Though her team was one of the last to fight, they had gotten rather unlucky and were to be pitted against the winged Griffon. Though she fought hard, she eventually succumbed to the beast's assault and earned herself a long talon-shaped scar on her back for her efforts. Despite being knocked unconscious, her team was able to fell the beast, and as per the wager, she was allowed to dine on the fallen creature. She keeps the griffon's feather in her hat as a reminder that she is not infallible, despite being capable of great things. Sandworm: Bow and Hooks. Tyo's first interaction with the 81st. Determined to keep a promise to bring one of her friend's hunting, Tyo invited Ayane Lenneth (a former member of Tyo's company, and at the time a current adventurer for the 81st) on a hunting trip. Word spread around the 81st, and soon the Huntress was leading a small group into the desert in order to hunt their quarry. Here Tyo instructed the strongest members of the group to use hooks and rope to hold the creature and prevent its retreat into the sands, while the rest of the hunting party slew the beast. After a couple of scrapes and bruises, the hunting party was a success and Tyo delivered the worm meat to the Gold and Glory Hunter's Guild, where she proceeded to serve it until the meat ran out. Ghostly Pirate Ship : Bow. One of her first combat missions back at the 81st. Tyo accepted the job in hopes of making a bit of extra money, and in hopes that she would be able to discern the combat abilities of her fellow adventurers. While there was a lot of talk about this ghost ship's origin, Tyo's lack of experience in naval affairs left her mostly quiet. Once they had encountered the ship and the crew had made themselves known as hostile, Tyo took much more action. In the end, the huntress killed a total of two of the crew members and took in a modest sum of loot for her troubles. Lamia Queen : Bow. The first of the official reopening 'hunt club' within the 81st had the huntress thrilled. To her, this was her chance to finally prove herself capable in the eyes of her company. Tyo's positive mood held high as they arrived at the cliffs, descended to the beach, and discovered the creature's lair. As the group moved further into the lair, her elation quickly faded, disturbed by, what she considered, poor hunting form. Once the Lamia was aware of their presence, the battle ensued. Tyo managed to land a few hits, and escape unharmed, though was petrified as the creature made her escape. Tyo blames the failed hunt what she sees as rookie mistakes by her fellow hunters, and on her own failure to land a killing shot. LIST OF FAMILY MEMBERS Mother’s Name, Rivi Amariyo. ( ♥ 🔒 ) CHARACTER’s Thoughts: "If only I could live up to half the example she set." Rivi was a lifelong soldier working to protect her homeland of Gridania. Her success as a soldier eventually led her to become a spy, where she first met the miqo'te Kuhyoh'a Shupnudo. Though their time together was brief, Rivi fell in love with the man, but a botched mission forced them to part ways. As a result of the failed mission, Rivi was branded a traitor. Rather than be executed for a crime she did not commit, Rivi fled deep into the Shroud where she lived her life as a mostly solitary huntress. After a few lovers and a couple children later, Rivi was eventually reunited with Kuhyoh'a, resulting in Tyo's birth. Tyo is unaware of her mother's past, and simply views her as the model in which hunters should strive to be. Father’s Name, Kuhyoh'a Shupnudo. ( ♥ 🔒 ❖ (So she believes) ) CHARACTER's Thoughts: "Mistakes I can never unmake." From his birth, Kuhyoh'a has been a miqo'te deeply pulled by wanderlust. When he was old enough, the eager young man signed up as crew for a merchant ship known as the Gilded Wind. Through his life as a sailor, he saw many far away lands and because quite skilled in many forms of combat. A necessity if he wanted to keep his fellow crew mates safe in pirate infested waters. Eventually he worked his way up and became the Captain of the Gilded Wind, which is about the time he met Rivi. After the two parted, he found his lust for adventure wane as he longed for the love they had shared. Eventually the two were reunited and had their daughter Tyo. While the family shared several years of peace, eventually Kuhyoh'a's past caught up with him. In an effort to protect his new family, Kuhyoh'a faked his death and has not been seen since. Sibling’s Name, Taro Amariyo. ( ♥ 🔒 ) CHARACTER’s Thoughts: ”Just as the wind can bring a pleasant smell on the breeze, it can also destroy a village in the blink of an eye. Taro is the embodiment of full spectrum.” The eldest of the Amariyo children, Taro has made quite a name for herself after sometime away from her family. Though she shared the same upbringing as her sister Tyo, Taro never quite took to hunting and instead focused on improving her substantial talents in conjuring. Sometime after she left the family, she fell in with a group of bandits, where her cold and naturally vicious personality helped her rise quickly through the ranks. Unsatisfied with the simple life of an outlaw, Taro eliminated her gang and used all of the ill-gotten gil to form a legitimate trading business. Through aggressive business tactics bordering on outright thuggery, Taro has carved herself a small fortune and continues to prey upon smaller ventures like the predator she truly is. Tyo and Taro reconnected sometime after Tyo began her adventuring life, which resulted in Tyo working for Taro as a body guard/bounty hunter. While Tyo initially opposed the questionable nature of her work, she persisted on out of love for her sister. In her employ Tyo learned how to harness the power of the wind, how to successful hunt and capture humanoid targets, and a bit of the nuances of combat. Eventually, disturbed at her own behavior of exploiting her sister, Taro dismissed Tyo, though the two still maintain a friendly relationship. Lately some distressing rumors have arisen about their mother, though for whatever reason Taro has decided to keep the information secret from Tyo for the time being. ( ♥ 🔒 ) CHARACTER’s Thoughts: "One of my truest sisters. Even if we do not share blood." Kara was one of the first people Tyo met when she began adventuring. At first the other miqo'te frightened her, however after capturing a coeurl cub for the woman, Tyo's respect and admiration for the woman has done nothing but grow. While the two have not seen each other in quite some time, Tyo looks forward to meeting the mysterious woman once more. Ayane Lenneth, The Lost. ( ♥ 🔒 🔃 ) CHARACTER’s Thoughts: "I don't know where you are friend, but I hope all is well." Tyo and Ayane were both new adventurers when they met at the Gold and Glory Hunter's Guild. Their initial reaction towards each other was a bit hostile, however once they looked past a few misunderstandings the two were inseparable. While the two have shared in many trials and tribulations, eventually the pair grew distant. Though Tyo wishes to be there for her friend, she knows that some journeys must be made alone, and as a result has not seen Ayane in quite some time. R'miah Tosh, The New Matron. ( ✔ 🔒 ) CHARACTER’s Thoughts: "The love and dedication the company shows her...I'd be lying if I said I wasn't envious." Tyo first met Miah of the Rah, on their shared hunt for sandworms. The seeker's outgoing and friendly personality, combined with her skill in the hunt was more than enough to Tyo over. Through various interactions, Tyo has grown a bit jealous of R'miah's charismatic personality, though this jealousy has never managed to cause any resentment from the Keeper. Tyo currently seeks a way to impress the Seeker, equating an impressed Miah with more acceptance from the rest of the 81st. She also intends to put Miah's claim of 'best archer the company has seen' to the test. L'Zhax Tia, The Sun's Blessing. ( ✔ 🔒 ) CHARACTER’s Thoughts: "We don't always see eye to eye, but I'll never doubt the man has purpose." Another friendly face Tyo has met since returning to the 81st. In their first meetings, Tyo more or less dismissed the man, either leaving as soon as people began to mingle, or ignoring him entirely. Part of her has always regretted this ever since she met the Seeker properly. His understanding of her social anxiety has led her to slowly open up to members of the company a bit more, something which she has not been able to express gratitude for. After a meeting with his mate over the circumstances of their coming to the 81st, Tyo has silently pledged to keep her friend safe, even if it need be from himself.
