The Xaela is tall and lithe, with long, sturdy horns that curl upwards, giving him even more height. He wears long robes of black and gold, and covers all but his eye with a dark veil. The single eye is keen and piercing, bearing an unusual coloring of deep red and always outlined by a vivid violet limbal ring. Occasionally one may glimpse scars beneath his veil, suggesting he covers himself to hide a ghastly visage. At times, long locks of dark, silky hair spills out from beneath, the length looking as if it would be long enough to touch his knees when unbound. Scars & Markings: Yusui outlines his eye with a dark red paint in a Doman fashion common to mages. It is hard to see much more of that while he is covered, though some scars peek from his veil or sleeve at times. Voice: Deep and smoky, often carrying the air of confidence. There is rarely an edge to his voice, but there is never uncertainty or hesitation. Dark and elegant, Yusui moves from region to region as a shadow, rarely staying in one place for longer than he needs to. Driven and dutiful, he is focused without distraction on his own ends. His methodical outlook at time causes him to approach things slowly, which sparks bemusement when it seems everyone around him is in a rush to finish things. He is not one to speak much of himself, though, despite his imposing exterior, he is quite comfortable and eager to share his wealth of knowledge with any kind of inquiring minds. NPC Toki Ryuusuke ( ♥ ✖ ) ( NPC ) - Noble Lord Yusui’s former liege, one he was in service to for several decades. Lord Toki’s men happened upon a young, abandoned Yusui on the edge of the Xaela lands, left behind by the Tumet. Since that time, Yusui dedicated his life to Lord Toki’s service. He came to see the lord as a noble father figure, and the two became closer as Yusui came of age. In time, Yusui took his place as Lord Toki’s right hand, becoming an arcane advisor and part of Lord Toki’s last line of defense. The lord was unfortunately lost several years back in a skirmish with Imperials. Inagaki Kyoden ( ♥ ?) ( NPC ) - Brother Yusui’s former student and partner. Coming into Lord Toki’s service at a young age, Inagaki possessed both knowledge and foresight, which helped him to eventually secure a place at the other hand of the lord. Yusui taught the young man a wealth of knowledge within the realm of magic, both white and forbidden, and the two made a formidable team in their prime. A time came when their opinions were divided, however, and they eventually found themselves on opposing sides. Yusui lost contact with him throughout the fighting, though he still seeks him out to this day. PC Anagna Kenesa ( ♦ ✔ ) ( PC ) - The Shadow Yusui considers Anaguma as capable, though he questions how long it will last. The young man seems filled with turbulence and instability, and it leaves him to wonder how long the half-Doman can go before it gets the better of him. Ahzra'li Lhomi ( ♦ ✔ ) ( PC ) - The Hunter Yusui has consulted Ahzra’li on occasion for information on Sephirah and some local information, but the two have little rapport with one another. The Keeper tends to enjoy keeping to himself, and Yusui is of no mind to force conversation. Cemi Jinfeh ( ♦ ✔ ) ( PC ) - The Lavender Yusui has worked beside Cemi recently and finds her far more skilled than he had anticipated. He does not mind her company, though he is uncertain of what her motivations are. He senses pain and lingering fear from the young woman, yet he remains uncertain if he wishes to discover the cause of such. Cierra Borlaaq ( ♦ ✔ ) ( PC ) - The Tracker Yusui has only worked with Cierra in the field, though he finds the woman to be formidable enough to earn his respect. Beyond that, he senses a kind soul beneath the surface, and would not deny her company should they find themselves together. Daiyu Kahkol ( ● ✔ ) ( PC ) - The Officer Tbd. Dovienya Cuenn ( ● ✔ ) ( PC ) - The Affectatious Through the brief times he has seen Dovienya, Yusui does not hold a strong opinion. Her arrogance and threats to those who cross her are tiring to the Xaela, especially so when he has seen little of her power beyond words. What he senses from her, he would not speak of, though it does not lend him any higher opinions. J'Veda Yhiro ( ● ✔ ) ( PC ) - The Indulgent A short-sighted little kitten, far too concerned with what is material. Yusui hopes to see her grow, however, and discover her worth in something beyond money or other pleasures. Livia Crane ( ● ✔ ) ( PC ) - The Blunt Yusui has found much evasion in Livia, in more than one way. She only appears to be comfortable in the heat of moments of combat or strife, leaving the Xaela to ponder at the reason of why. He feels more pain and fear beneath the surface that she keeps well enough to herself. Fortunately, Yusui will not be one to pry. Marcus Feral ( ♦ ✔ ) ( PC ) - The Captain Yusui finds himself with few complaints about Captain Feral. He appreciates the man’s rationality, or what he poses as such on the surface. The motivations of the two of them differ greatly, and as such, he does not expect to become a friend of the Seeker, though he is comfortable with him professionally. Pandora Voss ( ● ✔ ) ( PC ) - The Battlemage Pandora’s mercurial nature is troubling to Yusui, who has been taken off guard by her sudden temper in the past. It makes her very difficult for him to read, given how much it takes to cut through the swirling emotion. His judgment will be reserved until he has an opportunity to work with her closer. Sephira Erufanor ( ● ) ( PC ) - The Thrall A man swallowed and corrupted by the Void. Yusui would be sympathetic to Sephirah after walking through the man’s mind and memories, but has opted to maintain his distance. He wishes to keep the man’s story at arm’s length so he might pursue him without the compromise of emotion. Shezha Kohun ( ♦ ✔ ) ( PC ) - The “Terror” Try as he might otherwise, Yusui dotes on the young miqo’te. He finds her spirit and drive to be entirely endearing, even if he will not admit it to her. He has resolved himself into letting her “protect him” as she has told him she would do, and even letting her indulge in an occasional hug. Tempest Fey ( ● ✔ ) ( PC ) - The Mage Tbd. Vado Mercier ( ♥ ♦ ✔ ) ( PC ) - The Engineer Yusui first encounter with Vado came with a close encounter with a Voidsent which left the Seeker injured. Yusui took it upon himself to tend to the man as he recovered, and as a thanks, Vado allowed him to stay with him for a time. It was through Vado the Yusui was introduced to the Obsidian Court and became an advisor on Void-related matters. The two have formed a comfortable friendship over the short time, and Yusui has taken to teaching the Seeker how to wield his aether effectively. With Vado, Yusui has admitted things that he had not to anyone else, but Vado has been accommodating to Yusui’s unique case, something the Xaela is deeply grateful for.
