The art of making tea is also quite calming. ● Heights: Locke loves airships, tall trees, and rooftops; if it's off the ground, he's more likely to be found there. ● Baked Goods: Cookies, pies, cakes... Locke has a sweet tooth which he can only deny through much willpower. ● Books: Though likely reading research pertaining to his field, he's been known to sit back with a good novel. ● Oranges: He tried his first orange during his first trip to Limsa Lominsa, and they've quickly become his favorite. DISLIKES ● The Void: The thing responsible for the death of his family and friends, and the cause of many other troubles. ● Conflict: Arguments and violence make Locke uneasy, and he'll try to diffuse or step away from such things. ● His Brother: A bond broken, and a darker part of Locke's heart. Someone he would sooner like to forget. ● Strong Alcohol/Being Drunk: After a night in Limsa that he can't recall, he tries to be sober from now on. ● Inactivity: He likes to keep moving, working, helping! He becomes restless quickly if limited for too long. ● Truth or Dare: Embarrassing situations? Probably nudity and definitely regret? He avoids this game at all costs. ENGINEERING With humble beginnings as a mammet mechanic for Ul'dah's coliseum, Locke eventually struck out on his own to run a personal repair business in the Goblet. Adept in clockwork mechanics, the engineer has dug deep into matters of machinistry and airships. Recently, he has begun researching magitek and Allagan technology, tinkering with salvaged pieces and building his own designs. Although he had an apprenticeship in the Goldsmithing Guild for a time, he struggles with delicate jewelry. He does seem to have an eye for the aesthetics, at least. MARKSMANSHIP Armed with a trusty rifle, Locke's aim is sure. He works hard to guarantee that each piece is working properly, and he has made modifications to give him an unexpected edge over his opponents. With his converter at his side, he can charge bullets with various elemental effects, the most common being electricity. Before wielding his first gun, Locke would (and still does) carry a pair of daggers at his waist. Nimble and dexterous, he is well-versed with using his environment and blades for close-quarters combat, should one manage to avoid his shots. SCOUTING Most specifically in the Black Shroud, Locke has quite a bit of experience trekking through forests and plains. With a watchful eye and careful step, he can traverse most terrain unheard and unseen. Being an engineer, Locke has developed several tools to assist with these ventures, becoming a bit of a pathfinder or treasure hunter if needed. He has a keen eye for landmarks and subtle changes in scenery, and his calm disposition begets a calm approach in tense situations. With practical experience and quick reflexes, he makes for an excellent lookout or guide. VOIDSENT HUNTING This is a skill that Locke will not often speak about, having put that part of his life behind him for family and his future. But, should one manage to take a peek into his stashed-away possessions, one may find various artifacts designed for tracking, trapping, or even banishment of such creatures. Locke himself seems to have expansive knowledge on the subject, though he is more proficient in merely dispatching the monsters than learning about them. There is no one that Locke cherishes more than Lili, and little that he would not do to protect her. 🏠● Adokenai Rinannis: (Adopted Son) The middle child, an enthusiastic lalafell who loves sweets just as much as he loves getting into mischief. He has enough energy for the whole family! 🏠● Deisara Silverlark: (Stepdaughter, deceased) The second eldest of the children, and older twin of Sarameda. Dei, a rather enigmatic young woman, was mysteriously murdered less than half a cycle ago, sending the family into mourning. 🏠● Elonwea Rinannis: (Daughter) Still a newborn, Ellie is the only one with both Locke and Lili's blood. Locke refers to her as his 'little light' and still seems to have a high amount of daddypride when it comes to this little one. 🏠● Mikh'a Rinannis: (Adopted Son) The second youngest, Mikh'a is a fiery-haired toddler miqo'te who spends much of his time playing with Olli and the other household pets. He now spends his days fluttering about the house as one of the family. 🏠● Romimo Romi: (Guardian) Locke was practically raised by this lalafell, alongside his parents, and when Locke left home, she followed. Much of who his beliefs and moral compass are due to this woman. 🏠● Sarameda Silverlark: (Stepdaughter) The younger twin of Deisara, and the youngest of Lili's blood. She is meek and kind, and Locke does his best to look out for her as she flourishes into womanhood. 🏠● Khavan Nightwing: (Stepson) Locke has seen surprisingly little of Lili's eldest child, only during family gatherings, and is usually contrived of awkward smalltalk with the man nearly Locke's age. 🏠● Auric Rinannis: (Brother) Someone with whom Locke rarely got along. Even moreso now since his transformation into a voidsent and multiple attacks against Locke's friends and loved ones. ♫● Cassandra Lachance: Locke has known this hyur woman for quite a long time! He considers her a friend and would turn to her in time of need, and ask her to do the same. ♫● Cyrus Chambers: This enigmatic scholar has stepped in and out of Locke's life, seeming only to appear when the mechanic is in danger. Though Locke greatly appreciates the mage, he hopes he'll stick around next time. ● Aeron Volkova: An Ul'dahn noble to whom Locke is deeply indebted. He considered Aeron to be a growing family friend, one to trust in times of need, though time and responsibilities prevented it from ever coming to fruition. ● Basima'a Jinkjahl: The mate of Simi and one of the leaders of the Midnight Pearl, Bas shares many similarities with Locke (namely, enthusiasm) but his methods make the mechanic tilt his head and worry. ● Bert Brewforge: A boisterous smith for the Jackals, Locke has collaborated with this highlander on multiple occasions and is greatly impressed with his craftsmanship! He hopes to work more with Bert in the future. ● Cotota Qestir: Of the mute Qestir tribe, Locke doesn't know much about Cotota due to the language barrier, but he can tell that she has a good heart, and that she cares for her partner Isranne very much. ● Dante Thalmos: Locke had seen this dragoon since his early days while working for the Free Wings, but it wasn't until recently that they truly began to interact. Dante's loyalty toward Locke's family is true; the mechanic would never doubt it. ● Ellemeare Sargonnai: A kind and caring elezen whom Locke met in Ishgard but soon realized that they were practically neighbors in the Goblet. Though they rarely see each other, their meetings have been friendly and without awkwardness. ● Fejika Menajika: Friend of Goblins, this lalafell became friendly acquaintances with Locke for a small while, but after a tragic incident with Fejika's Goblin friends, he doesn't see her much anymore, unfortunately. ● Isaak Wulfhart: A rough, experienced highlander with unbending loyalty bought with coin. Locke and Isaak hit it off fairly well from the start, though the mercenary keeps himself busy except to take contracts from either Locke or Lili. ● Isranne Valreux: Able to walk into a room and easily break the ice, Isranne loves liquor and making Locke embarrassed—Locke doesn't know if this is a good thing or not, but he can always count on an interesting time when Isranne is around! ● J'inarah Marad: Co-leader of the Jackals with Kilid. Narah is fiery-spirited, practical, and highly protective of her pack. Locke keeps Inarah up to date on his life, which she seems to enjoy hearing. ● J'kilid Tia: Co-leader of the Jackals with Inarah. Friendly enough and laid-back, Kilid always has a clever word to say, and Locke thinks highly of his leadership skills, fighting abilities, and quit wit. ● Kanto Jahari: One of Locke's apprentices in his shop at the Goblet, Kanto and his mandragora, Primari, make sure the basic repairs keep going, giving Locke time to work on the more complicated things. His enthusiasm is infectious! ● Kheja'a Akhabila: After a misfire from the mage, resulting in Locke's gun overcharging and wounding his arm, the mage has been treading lightly around Locke, much to his dismay! He likes Kheja'a and tries to put the miqo'te at ease when possible. ● Ludivine Goultard: Although the two have crossed paths many times, Locke has never gotten to know Ludi very well. Still, though their relationship is formal, they have each saved each other's lives at least once, and Locke thinks very highly of her. ● Odette Saoirse: A bardess who Locke saw around the Sunny Seas Salvage and has spoken with on a few occasions. Her cheery but blunt demeanor makes him smile, and he always enjoys listening to her beautiful music. ● Platinum Mountain: Locke and Plat fight a battle of 'sir's, each calling each other such without thinking about it.
