The Woman, The Myth, The Legend

General

Alicia is a middle child in a fairly large family. After some years attempting to toil away within Amajina & Sons Mineral Concern's mines, as all in her family had for at least some amount of time, she quickly veered away from the actual physical aspects of things toward more behind the scenes endeavors such as process, policy, and eventually research. Research would be where she quickly gained prominence within the company and soon found herself whisked away to the company's research division. Unfortunately, after a heated disagreement over her contract that ended in a lot of vandalism and property damage, Alicia found herself sans employment. Shortly after stopping off in Limsa Lominsa she heard of a Free Company that had recently fought and won against Leviathan. She was surprised to soon find herself asking them for a job and further surprised by the leader's interest.

Since joining, she's found herself increasingly disenchanted with only being stuck in her room, staring at tomes until her brain liquefies. She has since been seeking out training among friends and the guilds of Eorzea, which she's certain is a terrible idea.

Appearance

Alicia has a head of long, red hair and skin that could said to be sun-kissed if we assume the sun is a very aggressive kisser. She stands at 5 fulm, 6 ilms and holds a surprisingly fit physique for such a bookworm, which she can thank Ferai's ceaseless training regiment for. She has a minor, light scar on her left calf from a mining accident. Her sense of fashion is largely lacking and tends to be based more around utility than attractiveness.

Behavior

Alicia deals with most of her problems with humor. She's socially anxious, cynical, and obsessive, which she tends to laugh off with sarcasm and ridiculous comments. Despite this, she's stubborn to her core and borders on arrogant. She's convinced she knows better until proven otherwise. While she is quick to listen, she's also quick to dismiss advice or information she can't agree with.

History

Alicia was born the fifth of eight children. Her parents soared to the heights of middle-management with the Amajina & Sons Mineral Concern which instilled in them a deep loyalty to the company. As such, every one of their children has worked for the company at some point or another and many continue to do so to this day. Alicia began as most did: a miner. She was awful at it simply because she made no real effort at the job and found it boring, repetitive, and beneath her. With all of the spare time she had not doing her job, she began to notice numerous inefficiencies and outright dangerous situations that were easily fixed. These changes, and her father's influence, were enough to not get her fired. She briefly headed an experimental project to apply Arcanism to quicken the mining process. This allowed her to spend a good year with the Arcanist Guild, where she learned that this was a terrible and dangerous idea as well as the first evidence she had a disease, disorder, or something that prevented her from properly using aether. Upon returning from the Guild, she began spending her evenings reading up on ways to further improve production and began to stumble upon ideas for new alloys for their tracks and carts that the company still use to this day. This is what caused higher ups to notice her. She soon found herself in the Research and Development department and an armful of promises that began to fall away the moment she signed her new contract. Her desire to work on bigger and better things clashed strongly with the company's desires, despite their initial promises. Tempers flared and Alicia found herself defacing millions of gil worth of company property and making off with all of her research that she could manage.

Having thought not a step further than she'd taken, she found herself wandering with her meager savings. She wound up in Limsa Lominsa looking for job leads. Finding a paper detailing the 81st's recent fight against Leviathan, she was impressed. This was a big deal, and she imagined such a company would only do more and need more assistance doing it. She tracked down their leader, Rhesh'ir, and convinced him she needed her help which required surprisingly little convincing. This was fortunate, as she otherwise did a terrible job at the impromptu job interview that actually interrupted his fishing.

Alicia was correct and the company did go on to do more and larger contracts. These contracts began to result in routine injuries and near-death experiences that dug a pit of guilt out in her stomach. She began flirting with different martial disciplines at this point, and continues to do so, having still not pinpointed a discipline that she can both perform and that speaks to her.

Relationships

Romantic Interest     Sexual Desire     Feelings     Platonic Love      Good Standing     Neutral Standing     Poor Standing

Friends & Allies

Ferai Caolann - Ferai has been equal parts remedy and cause of the bulk of Alicia's stress. Their friendship nearly began with her death, but it managed to take a more positive turn. They've been drinking buddies, friends, and business partners. What little true confidence in herself she has began with him.

Senelle Silverlight - Alicia really isn't sure what the Elezen woman is after, except that she's reasonably certain she is. While this should be a deterrent, she's surprised to find that it isn't.
Keaira Twinning - Alicia has had no run-ins with the woman outside of combat-related incidents, but she has been impressed by the woman's intelligence she's displayed in battle. So far, she hasn't questioned any of the woman's orders, which is generally a good thing.
Ainle Goldpaw - After an unfortunate accident with her previous boss that she had nothing to do with, Ainle appears to be her new boss. She knows little about the man, save for a possible lethal shirt allergy.
Rhesh'ir Zhwan - Her boss. Whom she likes well enough, although she hasn't seen him in quite some time. He was supposed to teach her the bow at one point in time, but this never really got off of the ground. She was upset about this for a while until she realized how little she actually does for the Free Company and that she's still getting paid. She found it in her heart to forgive.
Auriana Wynter - A lovely woman that Alicia has enjoyed drinking with in the past. She was also very helpful in attempting to teach her rogue combat, and was also the first to realize it wasn't going to work.

Enemies & Right Pricks

Absolutely Nobody - Alicia is universally loved by all. To be so popular is a burden and a curse.
