Basic Info

J'takra is a power-hungry thaumaturge with an abrasive attitude, large ego, mean sense of humor and short temper. He's known to some as one of the leaders of Ouroboros, a secretive mage society for protecting and learning the secrets of long forbidden magic. He tends to come off as quite crude and single minded, but he can be highly cunning when he wants to be. Generally it's not wise to fuck with him too much, as he's prone to bouts of violence and murder.

Appearance

Lean and wiry, Tak certainly isn't the strongest out there, but his pushy attitude tends to make up for it. Rarely seen without a handmade cigarette between his lips, or his gun at his side, he looks like a real trouble maker. Usually seen wearing either a grumpy frown or cocky smirk, this young Miqo'te is full of surprises.

He is a couple of inches taller than average, standing at about 5'7", which doesn't mean much in the grand scheme of things, since he's still a tiny miqo'te. His skin is pale, and his face framed with long, brilliantly red hair that reaches down to just below his shoulders. His ears are particularly fluffy towards their base, and his tail moreso towards the tip, both ending in a few darker red markings.

His voice is a smooth tenor, perhaps from the years of drinking, and has a certain sensual quality to it, at least when he's not spouting insults and being an angry bastard. He once had a slight Lominsan accent, though it has all but faded now, due to much time spent away from the city state. It only really comes out in a few select words or when he's drunk.

Dressing mostly in blacks, reds and whites, he definitely has a preferred color scheme. He has a bit of a rogue-ish look about him, definitely a weasel. He also carries around a very odd looking gun. It has all the same loading mechanisms as a normal musket, but it's a bit smaller, has a double barrel, and the lower barrel is tipped with a crystal foci. He wears the gun in a hip holster under his coat, rather than across his back. At a first glance you wouldn't guess he was a mage, and he uses that element of surprise often.

Personality

Tak/Oyuu

Something of a semi-sociopath, J'takra finds it highly difficult to relate to other people's feelings. Because of this, he often comes off as incredibly selfish and inconsiderate to those around him. He has a tendency to just say or do things without any thought given to how it may impact someone else, and it takes a lot of effort on his part to force himself into not being a total jackass. Because if this, he has the ability to be quite cruel and brutal with little remorse.

In spite of his many shortcomings, he has a lot of pride, and usually refuses to accept the fact that his opinion -might- not be right. Apologizing isn't something he does often, either, since that also constitutes as admitting he was wrong. On top of that, he has a short temper, especially now that he is usually sober. He tends to express himself with harsh, abrasive words if he doesn't like someone, or murderous violence if provoked too much. However, on the rare occasion he takes a liking to someone, they'll soon know it.

He has some good qualities, though finding them tends to require digging through the layers of bullshit. He's smarter than he usually lets on, and likes to plan far ahead. He puts up a 'not giving a shit about anything' front, but can actually be quite fiercely loyal if he has the right incentive to be such. He is also very much a determined, goal driven person, and will relentlessly work towards things that he wants, even if the whole world seems to be against him. If he warms up to someone, he has a bad habit of expressing himself in strange ways.

Due to growing up as part of a tribe, a little bit of that attitude still lingers with him. He can come off as aggressive and territorial at times, but once he warms up to people, he isn't so bad. Just be warned, he's almost always instantly hostile towards any strangers, until he gets used to them. This tends to scare off the people that don't have the constitution to put up with him. Once he actually likes someone, however, his behavior towards them is friendlier, perhaps even a little too friendly.

Combat

Tak

J'takra is a practiced Thaumaturge who very recently came into possession of a black mage soulstone. His order are all about retrieving such artifacts, and Tak took advantage of a situation where he was able to secretly take one for himself. Unfortunately, it was confiscated by his new teacher, and he is only allowed to have it back after he proves he can handle it.

Unlike most Thaumaturges, instead of a staff or scepter, Tak has his crystal focus set into the barrel of his gun. It's really no different from a usual staff, he just prefers the way it looks. Staves are lame. The gun itself is also capable of firing normal bullets, but he very rarely ever has a need to actually use it like that.

Physically, Tak isn't super strong. He's still a little lean, though he's been getting better recently. He prefers to be fast and light on his feet, since being a small miqo'te can sometimes be dangerous. He tends to get too emotionally involved when actually fighting, and will often have mildly entertaining spurts of fury, especially if he's losing.

History

Born and raised as part of a traditional tribe in La Noscea, along with his twin brother, J'sahr. Their lives were fairly typical up until the point where J'sahr tried to challenge the current Nunh, and used underhanded means to try and gain an advantage. J'sahr was caught and expelled from the tribe, and Tak ended up following him, since the two were very close. However, it wasn't more than a few months of living in the real world before the pair started to grow apart, a rift forming in their relationship over a totally ridiculous reason.

The brothers ended up fighting, and went their separate ways. Instead of returning to his tribe, J'takra decided to strike out on his own, and ended up living in Limsa Lominsa for a good while. He had many different jobs there, from bar tending, to working on ships, to stealing and drug dealing. He didn't hold any for very long, due to having a hard time playing nice with others, and it was during this time that he turned into a terrible depressive alcoholic.

Eventually he came to work at a trading company called the Ruby Carbuncle. It was his longest lasting job (even if he technically got fired once, for trying to shoot some idiot.) up until the company itself was taken over by K'hatos, and they became sky pirates! Sky pirating suited Tak pretty well, he'd started learning Thaumaturgy from Oyuu Dataq by this point, and had sobered up a lot. Unfortunately, however, Tak came to learn the hard way that stealing from your own crew mates, especially the Admiral K'hatos, is not a very good idea.

What Tak ended up stealing was Oyuu Dataq, after a long and convoluted love-triangle between the three of them, they were both exiled from the pirate crew. Currently, Tak and his exile partner have formed a pact with the son of the Admiral they betrayed, and are working towards something much bigger...

RELATIONS

Romantic Love / Big fat crush / Sexual interest / Trusted / Platonic Love / Good Standing / Neutral / Wary / Hated

Oyuu Dataq : A tall, slightly imposing Xaela who first taught Tak thaumaturgy. The two didn't get along in the beginning, but after going through quite a lot of shit together, the pair have formed a very firm bond. The both of them were recently bonded and are currently running their own secret order.

Jihn'a Gahre : Tak's Teacher, he finds the keeper frustrating, a little scary and incredibly alluring. Very interested in what secrets Jihn'a can teach him, Tak is ready and willing to endure the keeper's harsh teaching methods. He enjoys the other's company, even if he ends up getting himself in trouble often.

Koh'si Jakkya : Not entirely sure if the keeper counts as a friend or not, Tak has been a little on the fence in regards to how he feels towards Koh'si. The keeper is an annoying little shit after all, and Tak rarely has the patience for it. They're a little too much alike.

Kyt'ir Jakkya : Tak's fellow student under Jihn'a, and fellow order member. He has been flirting lightly with the keeper for a good while, but it was only after they became classmates that they had any real conversation together. Tak likes Kite, but also likes tormenting the poor keeper.

Nehsa'to Yohri : A doctor currently employed by the order of Ouroboros. Tak was fairly quick to express interest in this keeper, and after a little bit of prodding and alcohol, Yohri agreed to join Tak and Oyuu in some troublemaking. Tak wasn't certain if he liked or hated Yohri at first, but has since made up his mind.

Tala'li Dakelh : An exotic dancer that Tak and Oyuu ran into while on a small vacation in Ul'dah. Suffice to say, it didn't take too long for the three of them to get talking, and for the pair to invite Tala back to their room. Wink wonk.

Arthurioux Duchamps : One of the senior members of the order, Tak finds this Elezen fun, mostly because he's easy to wind up. Tak tends to make Arthur flustered and exasperated on a regular basis, and despite the fact they've almost killed each other before, they're on good terms.

Sahael Nevara : The son of K'hatos, and someone that Tak has less of a hard time getting along with. While he often tries to bully the other seeker, he actually quite likes Sahael, and agreed to help with the Ouroboros project. When they first met, Tak and Oyuu tried to mug the poor guy, but after finding out who he was, returned his belongings.

K'hatos : With a dynamic that has been a rollercoaster of ups and downs since the beginning, these two finally clashed for the final time, and the fallout was not pretty. Tak once harbored a lot of unrequited feelings for the seeker that he had his first time with, but Khatos has been gone for a long while now.

Arshtat Ejinn : A Xaela that has become a member of the order, in spite of having little magical interest. Tak dislikes her because Oyuu is always fussing over her, and talking to her in a language he doesn't understand. On top of that, she slapped him in the face when he was trying to be a sulky asshole.

J'sahr Tia : Tak's twin brother. Once close, the two ended up going their separate way after a stupid argument, and didn't speak to one another for several years. Recently, however, the two have been in contact again, and while things are still a bit rocky, they seem to have at least made up. Oyuu's mouth helped a lot to broker a peace. Slutty slutty Oyuu.

The Order of Ouroboros

Ouroboros

Tak, Oyuu Dataq and Sahael Nevara have joined together in an effort to resurrect the ancient Order of Ouroboros, a secret mage society that exists to promote responsible use of the arcane. The order exists to teach upcoming mages, protect valuable or dangerous magical artifacts, and put a stop to those who are using their magic irresponsibly. Tak has never had such a good cause to dedicate his time to, and is actually quite enthusiastic about it. He has a lot of slanted opinions, and they can clash quite a lot with Sahael's ideals, but he does want what's best for the order.

The order headquarters will be set up in the goblet, the estate used as a means to store their artifacts, books and other tools, as well as a place for it's members to congregate. The order itself is just getting off the ground, but already seems to have quite a promising future... so long as Tak and Sahael can avoid winding each other up too much.

- (We are currently recruiting for the order. We are both an FC and an IC linkshell. The two are not mutually exclusive, and we will be hosting events for FC members and LS members both. If you have any interest in joining us, please check out the link to our Enjin, or our RPC thread. Thanks for checking us out, and we look forward to hearing from you!)

Anything said or done while in character is just that, purely the character. I like to let RP pan out naturally and that can sometimes lead to all kinds of crazy situations. I'm very casual about these things OOCly, and seeing as I play a rather abrasive and forward character, would just like to note that nothing said or done by him reflects my personal feelings. He's a horrible ass and I apologize in advance for him!

Something I don't condone is tying up someone's character in RP, and then leaving them hanging. That's just not cool, man. The same goes for stealing RP away from others. I very much like to let my character do what he would do, but if it ends up stepping on any toes OOCly, I will back out. It's meant to be fun, after all! If you ever want out of any plots or ties with me, don't be afraid to say so, and we can oocly sort something out. I won't be mad, everyone has their reasons.

I'm a big baby wimp when it comes to asking for RP, or setting it up myself, so I -usually- don't approach people OOC. Feel free to hit me up though, I am usually up for RP if I'm not currently busy! I do both discord and in-game stuff.

Tak is horrible and I'm sorry about him.
