Basic Info

Sage Yvelont is his assumed name. Due to an estrangement concerning his Adoptive Father, he never willingly took on the Surname Carpentier, he refered to himself as simply Yvelont, a name given to him by his loving adoptive mother.

As a child, Yvelont was abused by his adoptive father, often times being called a Sin against nature.

It wasn't until much later when young Yvelont met a wise old Elezen who went by the name Sage Savigny, who he began learning Arcanima under.

After some time, Sage Savigny fell ill to an attack by dark beings known as Voidkin. On his death bed, Sage Savigny lamented how he never had a son, and often thought of young Yvelont as his own. Before he passed, he gave Yvelont his personal Grimoire and left this world.

As a sign of respect towards his fallen mentor and father-figure, Yvelont took up the forename Sage. He now goes by the name Sage Yvelont, in honor of his mentor. Due to requirements on official documents, Sage needed a surname. This is the only time he reluctantly will announce himself of the Capentier house. I.E. Yvelont Carpentier.

Sage now travels about, having only recently settled in the Goblet after saving every gil he had from his free-lance work between the ports of Limsa Lominsa as a customs agent and as a Book printer for the Arcanist's Guild. Through his travels he has amassed a large collection of books, all of which he has read but would never part with, a trait that rubbed off on him from his late mentor.

He has recently been seen frequenting a nearby Host Club in the Goblet, but when asked, he simply mentions Good Tea and Company is rare these days.

Appearance & Personality

• Sage stands over 7 foot, 1 inches tall, a height unimaginable for most to grasp. He often has to duck when entering some establishments.
• Sage is in unusual physical shape for his profession. He is of medium build, and has good stamina. It is rumored he has a morning workout ritual that he preforms everyday. Every...day.
• People often speak of seeing a forest of peace and serenity when they gaze into his green eyes.
• He is often quiet when approached, often shying from large groups if approached, a possible result of his upbringing and solitude he suffered as a child.
• He dislikes any forms of physical discipline, a touchy subject for him, and has been known to approach parents of misbehaving kids who think might is right. He would much rather see things settled with words, leaving a parting word-riddled life lesson in his wake. Rarely will he resort to physical violence, the exception being should he see someone physically mistreated.
• He seems to have a particular favor of women over men, often siding with their opinions and views, possibly due to his adoptive mother's kind upbringing.
• He will freely speak his mind and give council if asked.
• He seems especially protective of his friends and their problems. It's not uncommon to see him going far out of his way to help them, regardless of how big or little the problem may be. This often has gotten him into interesting situations.
• When it pertains to new interesting research, he is usually quick to jump on the subject to learn what he can or contribute what he can, often reaching borderline obsession.
• He likes a good joke, as long as no one is hurt or feels offended. Often he is more then willing to be the butt of a joke in order to see someone cheer up, he hates seeing people upset.

RELATIONS ♥ Romantic Interest ♥ Platonic Love ● Good Friend/Standing ● Poor Standing ♥ Nene Izuhara : A beautiful Au Ra Woman to which Sage has taken a special fond love of. He always enjoys being in her company, and regards her opinions the most important over all others. Though she does not return the same level of affection he has for her, he still cares very much for her and seeks to be by her side as long as she will permit him. He reveres her medical knowledge as the best in Eorzea and has recently taken to being her personal teacher in the fine arts of Arcanima. Whenever he visits her home, he happily wears a suit as requested by the estate grounds in order to be allowed in her presence to teach her, something Nene finds very cute on him. ♥ D'ranmaia Shenn : Miss Maia is a good friend of Sage's. She runs a Host Club out of the Goblet in which Sage often frequents. A chance of fate landed Sage at the feet of Miss Maia when he needed a friend the most. To Sage's relief, Miss Maia heard him out and alleviated his insecurities when he still feared the very world that he grew up despising, giving him strength when he needed it the most. She reminds him of his adoptive mother, both in her physical handicap and kind and gentle heart. He now offers what limited free time he has to helping her fine establishment. ● Lucky Mewrilah : A good friend and fellow Arcanist like Sage. Lucky has a bit of a troubled pass as does Sage, and Sage knows this. On some levels, Sage considers Lucky as a brother, especially when it comes to their shared interest in Miss Nene Izuhara. Sage sees a lot of sadness in Lucky from time to time and will do whatever he can to cheer him up. Like most brothers, they are not immune to fighting among themselves. But when shit hits the fan, they quickly put their differences to rest and start working together like family would. ● Ghalleon Helseth : A priest in the eyes of Nald'thal and his peers. Sage hasn't had much time to really get to know Sir Helseth, but every encounter so far has been good to say the least. Though much of Sir Ghalleon is still a secret to Sage, what he does know is that Ghalleon is a kind soul that has proven himself worthy of Sage's admiration, especially when very difficult times struck home, hard for the both of them. For this, Sage is grateful and eagerly awaits a chance to pick Ghalleon's intellectual brain. Perhaps over tea? ● Clalaris Sil Laris : A small person, especially when compared to Sage's immense size. Sage considers Seraph to be a bit odd, but kind. Their first few meetings were met under poor conditions that set the two apart, but over time they both came to grow on each other as they both had a passion for research. By chance or fate, the two often volunteer at Miss Maia's Establishment from time to time. Co-workers turned friendly, Sage harbors no ill will towards Miss Seraph. But he does wish she wouldn't call him by the Nickname she gave him, especially around strangers. ● Zaphir Zurlac : An acquaintance of Miss Seraph, and another fellow steeped in research who often volunteer's his time at Miss Maia's Host Club. Sir Zaphir is a bit harsh and secretly a dry humorist. Sage hasn't found much reasons to dislike Sir Zaphir. He considers Sir Zaphir as a bit of a control freak in some fields, but other then that, his reasoning is often sound and in the best interest. He sees a lot in Sir Zaphir that whispers something between him and Miss Seraph? Perhaps they are together? ● Nananomi Nomi : Against his better judgement, and mostly because the lad renounced his thieving ways, Nomi is a recent addition to the people Sage would call friend. Having recently suffered some loss along side the fellow. Sage couldn't help but want to help the young lad when he saw he was in need. From this sprung a subtle big brother like feeling in Sage. Now whenever a difficult situation turns more fowl, Sage feels a sense of urgency to keep an extra eye on his new sticky fingered friend. ● Ronin'ra Jinehga : Sage has never had the chance to sit down and have a heart to heart talk with Mister Ronin. But of the experiences and stories he's heard from others, he already doesn't see himself being anything close of a friend to him. From this womanizing aspects, to his rude language and excessive drinking. There is very little that Sage finds pleasant about the fellow. If circumstances that angered Sage were to come about from direct interaction with Mister Ronin, there is a high chance Sage wouldn't be able to resist punching him. Sage has had ill thoughts of flagging his name and sketch picture in the ports so he could be caught red handed with his somnus use as a lesson for his overuse and blatant disregard for safety of others for consuming it around him and others he cares about.
