Seto Verasse (/ˈsɛtɵ vɛrɑːssɛ/) (née V'seto Tia) is from the Vulture tribe, born as part of the Miqo'te diurnal clan Seeker of the Sun. Born through a Vulture tribe's nunh, V'akra Nunh and his mother, K'yana Rehb, he is the youngest born to his mother, though his older brother was born from a different nunh from a different tribe. Currently he is not part of any tribe after a majority of the tribe branch died from an attack of their camp, including his mother.

Basic Info

Seto Verasse is a young and fresh Miqo'te, uphailing from the Vulture tribe located deep in the south west territory of Sagolii Desert. He is the youngest out of two brothers from the family but was born from a different tribe nunh to his older brother, H'ikaru Tia. At first glance the young lad looks inexpereinced and immature and his lack of knowledge outside his tribe means he is still learning. However, curious as to why his brother left the camp years before him and the desire for adventure, Seto faces up to the challenge.

Names

■ Birth Name: V'Seto Tia.

■ Adopted Name: Seto Verasse.

Seto was born with the name V'Seto Tia of the Vulture tribe, which he grew up with for 19 years. Upon leaving the camp, his adopted name became Seto Verasse. His choice of surname came from his interest in the other races and their names, most notably the Hyur. Even though he did not understand their naming traditions, he liked how surnames were individual and not everyone was given the same surname. With this in mind, he derived his own sure name that he felt suited his first name. He dropped of the V in his first name and felt it appropriate to make his surname start with this letter, in remembrance to the tribe he belongs to.

Appearance

■ Build: Medium. ■ Height: 5 fulms 3 ilms. ■ Weight: 129 ponz. ■ Hair Color: Hare-brown.

■ Hair Style: Messy and (attempted but) ungroomed. ■ Eye Color: Light leaf green one on the left, ocean blue on the right. ■ Skintone: Fair. ■ Distinguishing Features: Small scar on left cheek.

Seto has a fair skintone and complexion and is medium built. Smaller than the average Miqo'te but it doesn't generally hinder him. Normally spotted with hare-brown messy hair which he tends to try and keep groomed but it refuses to stay in place, however recently he has let his hair grow out to look more grown and mature, though he is still a big dork at heart. His distiguishing features are his eyes, a light leaf green one on the left and ocean blue on the right. Not to mention the scar on his cheek he received on his failed fight to become a nunh.

Characteristics

Mannerisms: Seto is naive to world outside his camp due both his mother and his brother's protectiveness to him. He sometimes comes across as very inquisitive at times. When he asks questions, he is generally curious and becomes rather excited at the prospect of learning something new. When he speaks, he tends to roll the letter 'R' a lot. SOme find this cute while others find it annoying.

Voice: His voice is rather nasal and speaks in slang a lot. He has picked up a peculier accent from observing Hyuran youths in the city of Ul'dah.

Personality

Seto still finds a lot of Eorzea new and exciting.

Seto is still young and inexperienced to the lands of Eorzea after his protective mother wouldn't let him out of her sight. He feels that his mother blames herself for H'ikaru's behaviour and has then turn her attention to him, making sure he stayed out of trouble and harms way. This didn't stop his curiosity and probably got him into more trouble than he was suppose to.

He likes when people give him attention but he doesn't seek it. He can be happily pearched on a ledge or a cliff, staring over the beautiful landscapes Erozea offers and he'd be pretty content, watching the people or even the creatures that roam the land go about their daily routine. Excitable and friendly, he will be pleased if anyone flashes him a smile. He is very awake and playful at times, and sometimes this can hinder him as people think he doesn't take things seriously.

Hobbies

Geared and prepared to catch some fish!

During his time on the Rho'atad, Seto always had his nose in the barrels of fish the crew were catching during their journey. Where as he was good at picking out the fresh ones, some of the crew got fed up with their catch being left to the prey of the young lad. One of the crew members who fished up thier catch taught Seto the art of fishing to allowing him to catch his own fish. It took the young lad a few suns to master the technique but excitement and happiness in his eyes on his first catch cheered the whole crew up.

Seto took up fishing as a hobby and spent many hours perfecting his fishing skills, learning the different bates and their use and caught a whole load of different types of fish. He can be found around Eorzea in some of it's most secluded fishing spots hiding away and fishing to fill his hobby and his hunger for fish. His favorite dish is Seven Fish Delight which he got from the Bronze Lake Resort. He tends to make his own to his comrades when they are in the mood for fish, rotating the seven different types of fish on each meal with ones he has recently caught.

Since being stranded with his crewmates, Seto has found more time to explore the land of Eorzea than he had before. Unfortunately, he doesn't learn the same lesson twice and is sometimes found running in and out of hostile areas in the bid to explore without getting caught. He has a tendency to drag his crew mates and friends to areas he really wants to explore and gets them into some trouble as a result.

History

Seto's early years were spent on the aftermath of his older brother and mother's banishment from the Hipparion tribe due to H'ikaru's disagreement to religious teachings of the tribe elder's. Name had got around quickly to the Vulture tribe where Seto was born into and people had a veryclose eye on Seto. In his teenage years Seto had felt a lot of pressure from the elders who came to the tribe, feeling as if they were worried he may follow in the footsteps on his older brother. His upbringing was only marginally tougher than other children around him but Seto was still very cautious of what he was told about his family's past.

1558-1572 6AE - Pre Dalamund

1558-1563 - A Family Broken Up

Born in 31st Sun of the 7th Umbral Moon 1558, Seto became a member of the Vulture tribe. He was the youngest to his mother after his older brother who was 16 at the time of his birth. Seto's early years were filled with the conflict between his mother and his brother over how he was to be raised. H'ikaru would clash with his mother in regards to how Seto would be brought up, always arguing he should have a free mind and not be tied down by the ways of the tribe’s people.

Seto idolised his older brother and would fall asleep listening to H'ikaru's stories of great worlds and the different people and creatures. He would eagerly wait for the elder to return from hunts outside the camp, waiting to hear tales of ferocious beasts and grand landscapes waiting for him to explore when he was older.

When Seto was five, H'ikaru was expected by his mother to make a bid for the title of the tribe’s nunh but he refused to do so. This caused a rift between his mother and his brother. This was the time when Seto remembered starting to see his brother less and less. H'ikaru would spend long periods away from him and his mother. When he met with his mother, H'ikaru would argue about living his own life and ideals and this kept him away from being with his family.

During an extended argument with his mother one night, H'ikaru left the camp and failed to return home. H'ikaru had left Seto without much of an explanation to what had happened or what the argument was for. The tribe Nunh had sent two of their trackers out into the surrouding areas but they were unsuccessful in locating him and he was persumed dead.

1564-1571 - Grow Up, Stand Tall

After the departure of H'ikaru, Seto's mother grew rather protective of him. She had refused to mate again with the tribe nunh and spent a lot of time making sure he was safe from danger. When other children were offered the chance to do such activities as leaving the camp to watch hunts or part take in tribe activities, Seto's mother would refuse to allow him to participate. This made him feel left out he also had an understanding to why he wasn’t allowed this.

For the next few years, Seto's mother would talk to Seto at night about his brother. Seto would always ask if she had heard from him, and it wasn't till he was older that he realized his mother had lied to him, telling him stories about what Hiikaru had been up to when she had heard nothing at all. She would cry when she would tell the stories, but she did it with a smile, as if regardless, she was still proud and loved his older brother.

As he grew older Seto would follow the teachings of the tribe, the same teaching his brother original tried to stop him from being a part of. In 1568 on the 15th Sun of the 3rd Astral moon, almost 10 years since his mother had joined the Vulture tribe, some Elders had came from the Hipparion and Vulture tribe to question Seto in regards to his brother's past. They had asked him a lot of questions about H'ikaru, about the ideas the Miqo'te had and if they shared them with Seto. Seto had never been told about H'ikaru's time in the previous tribe and wasn't aware of his past. After thorough questioning, it was deemed Seto wasn't inflicted with H'ikaru's ideals and he was allowed to remain as part of the tribe.

During the next few years, Seto trained up in fighting with weapons. He tried all types of combat and didn’t stick to one particular type. He was always better with physical weapons than with magics. During this time, he befriended a young Miqo'te girl by the name of V'Rena. She was quite fond of Seto. The two of them would sneak out and lay in the open sands, staring at the stars and sharing their thoughts. Seto would mention his older brother to V'Rena who in turn on one night planted the seed to his future; she asked him if he had thought of going out to look for him.

Seto became quite fond of cooking and culinary and took skilling this discipline. He would spent many nights trying different recopies and testing them with V’Rena and his mother. It wasn’t something his mother was fond but as he got older she became less restricting and allowed him to make his own decisions.

1571 - 1572 - The Fall Of Dalamud

1-5 7UE - Post Dalamund

1 - 5 - Brand New Era

On the 21st Sun of the 2nd Astral Moon 4, Seto made the decision to leave the camp in search o H'ikaru. He had told his mother he wasn't convinced his older sibling had perished and was still alive. His mother tried to stop him but Seto was determined to go out and find his older brother. Sneaking off during a training trip outside the camp, he made his way through the Amal'jaa beastclan encampment Zanr'ak and headed toward Little Ala Mhigo. From there, he took the first caravan out and headed towards Uldah.

For the next few suns, he spent his time searching for food while asking around about his brother. His curiosity also allowed him to ask a lot of questions and learn about the way of life away from his own upbringing. A handful of people were kind to him while others either had a neutral approach to his questions with some even threatening him. He found it difficult to survive and after several suns later, he was exhausted and lonely, wishing he was back at the camp. Stowing away on a ship bound from Limsa Lominsa, he head over to the nation to continue his hunt for H'ikaru.

Hungry, tired, and far from home, Seto wandered his way into Aleport in search of food. The cheeky young lad stumbled onto a ship and followed his nose to where he found a whole crate load of fish in the ship's lower hull. Without a second thought he began to eat the fish, unaware that the boat he getting read to set sail.

Panicing, Seto was sure it was the end of the line for him. As the ship left the docks he tried to hide in the lower ship. He spent a couple of days managing to dodge the crew until he get caught and he was thrown in the brig. Several suns past as he spent his time in the Brig, talking to crew members who came to watch him or preform duties. He found out at this point that the ship he ended up on was called the Rho'atad, a pirate ship under comand of Captain Glazisil Tofftylwyn.

It was one stormy night during the 3rd Astral Moon 4 that Seto's life would change. As the ship swayed and battled with the sea herself, news had came down to him of the struggle the upper decks were having of navigating the sea. The Navigator has fallen overboard and the Sea Artist, a mere Lalafell by the name of Wawasuma was unable to reach the crows nest to help guild them. Even though he had no idea of his potential talent, Seto demanded to be set free to help. Under a temporary release granted by the Captain herself, Seto made his way to the ship's deck and made a name for himself as the ship's new navigator, guiding the ship and it's crew through the rough and dangerous seas that day.

Since then, he has become a proper member of the crew. Though it was odd for him adjusting to the life of a pirate as well as the crew itself finding it odd to have a male miqo'te as a crew member, over time both parties were able to find the mutual respect. He was ever still as inquisitive, spending may hours asking the Captain's First Mate Bastian Greywolf numerous questions about their exploits.

On the fateful day of the 3rd Sun of the 6th Umbral Moon 4 the Rho'atad was attacked by a Garlean fleet pratolling the seas on the border of Rhotano. The crew were out number but with nothing else to do they stood their ground and fought till the bitter end. The ship was destoryed and the crew were left shipwrecked as they faught to survive.

Waking up on the shores by the Salt Strand alone and terrified, Seto made his way to Moraby Docks where he once again met up with Glazisil who took him under her wing and helped him recover from his ordeal. Where she had been in many battles, Seto had not faced such an event before. over the next twenty suns, Glazisil and Seto stayed in the area, in hope that they would find more crew members who had been washed up on the shores before heading to Limsa Lominsa. There, they found First Mate Bastian who had been rescued by the locals down at Fisher's Bottom.

5 Onwards - Journey Forth

Shipwrecked in La Nocsea, Seto makes his home in Limsa Lominsa along with Glazisil and Bastian. While trying to make a living for himself and to help his friends, he spends his time perfecting his fishing and cooking skills while at home in Limsa while out in the lands of Eorzea, searching for his missing brother and any comrades from his crew mates.

From his past and into his future, Seto will meet many different people. Some will be passers by, some will leave a mark on his story.

Family

H'ikaru Tia: H'ikaru Tia is Seto's older brother. The last time he saw him in 1563AE. Seto is currently out hunting for his brother.

Friends

Glazisil Tofftylwyn: Pirate Captain of the Roaring Rhotano, Glazisil took Seto in as a crew member when he was caught snooping around the lower decks for fish. After Seto helped them navigate a vicious storm, she had made Seto her navigator. Seto has a lot of trust in Glazisil as the first main person he grew a bond with since leaving his camp.
Bastian Greywolf: Even though he trusts the Highlander, Seto often has a grudge against the First Mate for the way he teases and torments him. Often referred to as 'The Cat' Seto finds it difficult to get on with Bastian.
Brittle Slate: Brittle was one of the first people Seto met upon wandering to Limsa after the shipwreck. The beefcake Roegadyn supported the young Miqo'te back to his feet and helped him with his search to find him missing crew mates. Currently though Seto hasn't seen any sign of Brittle and has become concerned for the Hellguard.
Dianthus Itsaul: A friend Seto had made during a visit to Gridania. Seto admired archery skills of the other Miqo'te and asked to be taught. Seto looks up to Dianthus, though the two of them tend to spend more time play fighting and eating snacks than learning anything.
Hikaru Oshima:
Hikaru is the leader of the Free Company Seto is a member of and the partner of Dianthus. Seto looks up to the Elezen (in all meanings) and see the Elezen as wise and intellegent.

About The Player

I'm kinda shy at times. I've done a lot of roleplay on things like forums and skype but not in game with an avatar before so I get a bit intimidated. I would love to be able to meet loads of friends and do roleplays and stuff and develop my character through friendships and even rivals! I have a small close knit group of friends I roleplay with and would happily expand that. I am looking for a roleplay FC to call home.
