Her shock of short, dark hair has a healthy shine to it--soft, unruly, and forever falling over her eyes, conveniently hiding a shallow scar over her right. Her bright grey irises gleam with mischief. They have a curious, playful cast to them if you're lucky. A cruel, predatory one if you're not. Her smile is often sardonic, a smirk that tugs at the corner of fuller lips. Funny, how often that half-hearted smirk grants her license to get away with more than she should. All in all, hers is a pretty face, brushed with eye shadow, gloss, and the glow of someone ambitious. White, black, and all the shades in-between make up a majority of Skylar's monochromatic wardrobe. Accents of crimson and gold liven her appearance in sashes and modest jewelry. Despite living under the beating Thanalan sun, many of her clothes are dark or form-fitting, leaving little to imagination despite occasional modesty. The perks of being a thaumaturge, one could suppose, noting the hardsilver scepter at her hip. Being able to regulate the temperature around her gives her license to spite the practical norms of desert fashion. She could stand out in a crowd, perhaps... ...If she weren't so godsdamned short. Malik Nazar endured much hardship in his life, first and foremost being the dangerous relocation of his family from Ala Mhigo to Ul'dah as the threat of Imperial invasion loomed--and the second being the death of his wife, Suma, not long after. Malik began life as a refugee in Ul'dah working in the mines, quickly rose to foreman, and would come to work for the Concern in his later years of life. His disapproval of Skylar's choices in life still loom over her to the day, moreso in the wake of his recent passing. He left a majority of his possessions and wealth to the Order of Nald'thal, and a house to what he believed to be his only remaining--and lesser--daughter. ✝Suma Nazar - Mother A seamstress of some small wealth, known best for her talent with a needle and thread and showy magical prowess. A foil to her husband, Suma was both a spontaneous and mischievous woman, traits she passed on to both her daughters. Beautiful but fragile in nature, she passed away from illness shortly after the family's flight to Thanalan. Her spirit and small fortune were just enough to keep her family afloat while her husband struggled to secure the means to support them. ✔Devin Nazar - The Better Half Skylar's sister, older by less than a bell. Once an impressive thaumaturge among the Immortal Flames--and appropriately known for wielding her astral spells to devastating effect--Devin was thought to be one of countless lives claimed in the Battle of Carteneau. Recently returned to Eorzea--as a Scion, no less--she has reunited with her sister for the first time in years. The pair of them are always close. Friends & Aquaintances ღKale Aideron - Dearly Beloved Second Flame Commander of the 4th Auxiliary Brigade, Kale is a recognized leader, war hero, and Skylar's betrothed. A traditional, stoic, and powerful man, he is Skylar's foil in many ways. Their relationship is passionate but rather volatile, leaving many to wonder if their bond will survive the clashes of their arrogant and willful personalities. � ?????????? ??? ???????? - Of Black Design A meticulous researcher and formidable mage of carefully muted infamy. As an authority on aetherology and the nature of primals, Skylar originally solicited the mage's advice as a means to prevent a summoning in exchange for material research. Though she greatly dislikes the mage's background and temperament, she finds herself enticed by their potential as a master promising means to an end. ✔ Ashe - Mew Skylar's pet cat. A scrawny grey feline of several cycles, Ashe is skittish but adept at keeping pests at bay. Much like her mistress, she often demands affection on her terms--one can rub her belly approximately three and a half times before losing their hand to a playful assault of teeth and claws. ❣ Avlia Swift - A flirtatious monk with a heart the size of a house (and a kitchen of roughly the same size). Avlia's confident and generally playful nature makes for pleasant company that Skylar finds herself more and more inclined to be in. Though the two do not see each other all that often, Skylar considers Avlia a good friend and relies on her light-hearted-but-takes-no-shite attitude to keep things afloat. ✔ Cassia Tarquinius - The 4th Combined Brigade's Garlean conscript, perhaps the first of her kind outside of Gyr Abania. A stubborn young woman with a short temper and too much pride, the pure-blooded Garlean has been a source of enormous controversy since her arrival. Though Skylar has reluctantly accepted her presence, she still regards Cassia with suspicion and skepticism. Recent events have made Skylar more sympathetic to her position of servitude, but not... by much. ❣ Chelsea Grey - Eorzea's best and most pleasant-smelling treasure hunter, the petite blonde midlander is consistently a miniature sun in Skylar's day. The pair of them met in front of Ul'dah's adventurer's guild and promptly compared rears (both of which are fantastic), much to the bewilderment of a certain Flame Commander. Chelsea and Skylar have been friends ever since. To the day, Chelsea is the friend she feels most at ease with. ♦ Elsbeth Blackheart ✖ Fenix Frost - A rogue dark knight and bounty hunter, Fenix pursued Shining Feather and Skylar for their bounties over the course of several moons. Faced with the midlander's harrowing combat prowess, both were lucky to escape with their lives. Never quite managing to best him in combat, Skylar still largely avoids him to this day. ✔ Ka'votu Roya - A sunny, cheerful tribal kitten! Votu and Skylar met in their time with the Long Climb Trading Company. They have both had a pistol pointed at them. They have both shared a closet! Though they see each other rather infrequently, Skylar enjoys her company all the same. ✔ Katharina Balk ❣ K'hadar Tia - A wandering Seeker of the K tribe. Skylar initially stumbled upon K'hadar fishing in Gyr Abania, where the two became fast friends--especially after the miqo'te's aid in rescuing Skylar's fiance from certain mortal peril. K'hadar's light-hearted nature contrasts sharply with the path he has chosen as a dark knight, making him something of an odd character that Skylar finds endearing nonetheless. ● Mactildis Quartzwall - Mother of Skylar's fiance, Kale Aideron. A retired mercenary of some renown and a stubbornly traditional woman, Mactildis' abrasive and generally aloof temperament kept tensions afloat in the Aideron household right up until her recent departure. Though Skylar managed to avoid butting heads with her mother-in-law to be, she never quite won the woman's approval, a fact that bothers her to this day. ♡ Nathaniel Carver - ✖ Navarre Corwell - ● Rageant Lacordaire - ♡ Raniall Lightstone - A 1st Lieutenant of the 4th Combined Brigade. Cordial, amicable, and not often prone to rash decisions, Raniall remains a friend and voice of reason for Skylar despite a previous... altercation in moons past. He is an oddity among Skylar's commonly less-than-reputable company, a protective and kind-hearted foil to her more selfish and occasionally vicious temperament. Raniall is often accompanied by Hammer, a faithful and endearing canine companion. ♦ Rayla Black - ❣ Rhuli'a Kanjun - ♦ Shining Feather - Skylar's best friend*, a stunning fashionista with an enormous axe and a hair trigger. Sharing similar intolerances and a penchant for mischief and fun, they became fast friends and partners. Shining Feather and Skylar met in Ul'dah's adventurer's guild in the midst of a bar fight. *Three men were harmed in the making of this friendship. ✔ Steve - A mammet assigned to the 4th Combined Brigade's Flame Commander, Kale Aideron, Steve was left in Skylar's care for the duration of Commander Aideron's deployment into Paglth'an.
