She also has a silver clasp inside her left ear to signify her pirate status. ♦ Whenever Mitsu is relaxing at home, or just messing around with her friends, she can be seen in either a blue-striped bikini with her signature pirate hat or her official pirate gear. She enjoys wearing both. Sometimes she'll mix and match. It all depends on her current mood. Personality This playful, eccentric feline is all about having fun and enjoying life. She knows the value of hard work due to her upbringing as a child. She's always just a little shy of crazy and there's always a bright smile on her face. It's not too hard to get along with Mitsu, but when she's impatient she can sometimes get annoying. It's best to let her do what she wants without questioning it. There's not much that can bring down the bubbly kitten. She's very attached to her pirate crew, so if something bad happens to them she can get very worried--especially if it involves Seren. She also doesn't like it if she has to leave home for any reason. Running away is not her style. She tries to keep a positive attitude for everything and it's nearly impossible to tell the hardships she suffered through. The only clues are the scars on her face and the occasional nightmares she has while sleeping. Biography Childhood Mitsu was born into a poor miller's family in La Noscea. Her parents doted on their only child and she grew up happy, despite the harsh difficulties they faced. She admired her father the most, who worked hard to keep the family afloat financially. Through rain or shine he would toil away at the wheat fields and man the windmill that ground the crop into fine flour. Mitsu's mother would remain home to clean, cook, and mend her husband's often torn clothing. Whenever the little Miqo'te had a chance she would go outside to watch her father work. Six years passed peacefully, but Eorzea was not without danger. One fateful night, bandits attacked their land and set fire to the fields and their tiny hut. They kidnapped Mitsu and murdered her parents, leaving their corpses to burn in the flames. Their deaths would forever haunt the young Miqo'te. The bandits intended to sell Mitsu into slavery for some extra gil, but the 6-year-old had better ideas. She discovered that she had a natural talent for sneaking out of trouble. It didn't take long for her to slip quietly away from the bandits and escape. Following the coastline, she came to a filthy old fishing town on the outskirts of La Noscea. These were the darkest times in Mitsu's life. Tired, hungry, and alone, the little Miqo'te was nearly overcome with despair. To survive, she had to learn how to steal what meager scraps she could and beg for leftovers. It was always a competition between her and the other urchins. She suffered greatly during this time from malnutrition and nearly got killed countless times from angry merchants that caught her stealing. Mitsu could still beat the odds and escape before she was harmed, but just barely. One skirmish left her with a scar above her left eye, after mistakingly assuming one particular merchant was unarmed. Teenage Five years came and went. Now 11-years-old, Mitsu was an expert at thievery and knew her way through the alleys. She longed every day to escape the city though. She often heard stories from the fisherwives that told of Limsa Lominsa and the pirates that ruled its waters. Mitsu began to imagine herself as one of them and dreamt of going there one day. Like many her age that lived in the poor fishing harbors, their dreams were nothing but fantasies. It was during this time that the Battle of Carteneau began. A patrol of Garlean soldiers who were headed to meet up with the main army in Mhor Dona, invaded the town at the crack of dawn, seeking to increase their numeral strength. They sought out any male of any race to join their ranks. Younger men went willingly, eager for the chance of glory. Those that were fishermen all their lives were more reluctant, but the soldiers forced them into submission through often brutal means. And then, knowing that the fishing town was lost without its fishermen, the Garlean soldiers ransacked what was left and burnt down the remains of the village. They destroyed what little resistance they faced and brought fear upon anyone who survived. When the soldiers finally left, Mitsu became one of many refuges who had no choice but to wander La Noscea in search of a new home. The little Miqo'te was one of the few lucky refuges who made it safely to Limsa Lominsa. They were taken in and cared for by the welcoming residents. The strain caused by the Battle of Carteneau was evident though, and Mitsu wondered how long she'd be able to stay. Then Bahumut unleashed his fury upon the realm of Eorzea, and, like many other towns, Limsa Lominsa was nearly thrown into ruin. Mitsu's means of survival became running and hiding, something she learned to dislike immensely. Weeks turned to months. Months turned to years. The aftermath lasted longer than anyone could imagine. Limsa Lominsa and the neighboring towns were teeming with refuges and supplies soon became limited. In the three years that followed, Mitsu had to resort to her old ways of thievery, but it was easier in a crowded, prosperous city. Business picked up, merchants began selling again, and the liveliness of Limsa Lominsa returned. At 14, Mitsu was a short and scrawny kitten. Deprived of proper nourishment as a child, she had developed a leanness that would never go away. This gave her a light and flexible build, which allowed her to be perfect at sneaking around. Her dream of pirate life had still not left her, but she had yet to find an opportunity to join a crew. Her luck got the better of her one day when she tried to steal a freshly grilled Maiden Carp from the local inn. The patrons caught sight of her and the barkeep was anything but thrilled. He came at her with anger in his eyes, but she stuffed the fish in her mouth and danced out of his reach. Before she could escape, however, the patrons blocked the exits and cheered the barkeep on. Panic filled the little Miqo'te and all she could think of was at least her last meal was tasty. Before the barkeep could punish her, however, a male Miqo'te appeared out of nowhere, disrupting the situation and creating an exit where they were both able to escape. Mitsu thought his fearlessness was something to admire and she found herself drawn to him. When they found a good spot to hide and catch their breath, he introduced himself as Seren. He was one of three, looking to create a pirate crew called the Eternal Bonds. It was in this way Mitsu found her first permanent home. Seren taught her everything from wielding a bow to sailing a ship. Mitsu showed him and the rest of the family just how annoying she could be. Still, they all somehow got along and she's been with them ever since. Present You can find Mitsu just about anywhere. She likes hanging out in busy taprooms, admiring scenic views, and sailing with her pirate crew. If her blue fur doesn't catch your eye first, you'd better watch out because she might tackle you in a surprise hug. She's got a slight obsession for Lalafells. You have been warned.
