[edit] Character History Interactions Rumors Miscellaneous APPEARANCE Veve is a lalafell that tries to effect an image of power and respect, and that comes off in how he dresses. Robes will always be on the wardrobe rotation, and he enjoys layers of clothes that hide his diminutive stature. Long, luscious hair that is greyed from stress and damage is sometimes decorated with bits of jewelry, much like the rest of him. Rings, earrings, bracelets, necklaces, all can be seen in various bits of gold, platinum, and rare gemstones that dot his attire. Golds, purples, reds, and black make up his usual color palette, but he has been known to dip into green and blue on occasion with some outfits. Perhaps the most striking part of his appearance is his eyes. Swirling pools of grey that occasionally shift to glowing silver when under the effects of magic, his eyes have long been a source of uneasiness and admiration both, depending on the beholder. If one were familiar with standard Lalafell looks and biology, they would note that he is thinner, more gaunt that others of his kind, and has a perpetual pair of dark circles under his eyes which is hidden behind his face paint. DEMEANOR A duplicitous little thing, Veve's behavior tends to swing wildly depending on the company he keeps and what he deems necessary to the situation. Ever the Ul'Dahn native, he's quick to hustle those around him when he feels it could benefit his situation. His standard set of behaviors, however, tend towards the polite and friendly in an attempt to keep himself in the good graces of as many people as he could meet. The trouble with this is the sense that he's got ulterior motives, and that he never speaks the full truth. Which is correct. He's always got a plan, and he's always got a reason for doing exactly what he's doing at all times. In all things he focuses on logic and thought to drive his choices. As a longtime student and master of Arcanistry, Veve has a strong grounding in strategy and observational skills. It also has given him a very strong drive to figure out puzzles and mysteries, which makes him quite the inquisitive fellow. He can wear on nerves with his unending questions and probing statements. While they were close as children, time and differing interests saw them growing apart even before Veve's accident, and after his change in behavior even more chill was added to their already cool regard for one another. Aside from the occasional letter, they don't speak. Lelene Lene ⚯ ≈ Mother Arcanist of some renown and skill. Retired professor of the Arcanist guild. She was his biggest influence as a child, serving as both a role-model and strict taskmaster, grooming her child into the brilliant savant of an Arcanist he was in his younger years. While proud of his work and ability, she feels him too slack in his current lifestyle, and their relationship has been strained to the point of silence lately due to the massive change in behavior he went through a few years ago. Nenekora Lelekora ⚯ ≈ Father Merchant with some ridiculously distant ties to some obscure noble line or another which is impossible to trace at this point. A quiet and business-oriented fellow, he served as the basis for Veve's charm and skill in persuasion, the lad having watched his father's business dealings a few times. Given the stress and time required to run a successful merchant business in Ul'Dah, they were never given time to grow particularly close. Distant respect is what the two hold towards one another. P L A Y E R   C H A R A C T E R S Amedee Delacroix ● Veve's relationship with Amedee is vast and storied. Perhaps one of the lalafell's oldest friends, the man has a habit of disappearing and reappearing at various points in time. Veve knows the elezen to be capable, a powerful mage in his own right, but his impulsive, greedy, and oftentimes drug-addled behavior heavily limits his potential. Despite this Veve is always happy to see his friend, and be an innocent bystand observing his antics. Armont De'bayle ⚖ ● Off to a rocky start in their professional relationship, Veve has been conscious in his loyalty and obedience to the eldest brother's orders. Luckily for the both of them, Armont has allowed Veve a large degree of operational freedom. While he holds doubts to some of Armont's leadership skills, he still has accepted that the man leads the family, and will continue to follow so long as their goals align. Beile Kagon 👥💖● Beile is Veve's husband and partner. While quite opposite from one another in many ways, they also maintain a healthy relationship based on trust, lack of restrictions, communication, and their ability to live separate lives. Veve had met the Xaela in a Goblet-based dive bar, where the sharing of a pipe and Veve's interest in Beile's magic caused a fairly quick bond. From there multiple attendances to Beile's performances and a few magic lessons saw their relationship advancing to something more personal. Beile holds a special place as the one person Veve will sacrifice his own resources to protect and keep. Denz De'bayle ● Veve hasn't had much interactions with the youngest De'Bayle brother, but from what he has seen has already decided Denz to be a person worth keeping an eye on. Potential abounds in the young man, but Veve is waiting for the moment he strikes off on his own to truly take advantage of his worth.
