Character

General

Y'lyfriel Sikah is long-separated from her tribe. Though she carries the markings of her tribe and was raised with knowledge of Sunseeker culture, her closest tangible link to that culture is her sire, whom she has had no contact with since her birth. Instead, she was raised by her mother in La Noscea, entirely apart from any Miqo'te outside of their small family. Once she was old enough to frequent Limsa Lominsa, her frequent encounter with similar, disconnected Miqo'te convinced her that true Sunseekers (or Moonkeepers, for that matter) were a thing of rarity. Many of her ideals and presumptions were destroyed in the Calamity. Though her family was far from where Dalamud fell, Bahamut's destructive power reached far enough to decimate her home. Neither her mother or her sister's remains were recovered.

Appearance

She carries a few scars from the resonating destruction from the Battle of Carteneau. She usually dresses fairly well; the ample income she earns from her work in the Arcanists guild, as well as her cooking allows her to live well, if not always comfortably. She is in excellent physical condition, and spars frequently with a few of the Yellowjackets that she has befriended since moving into Limsa Lominsa; her preferred weapons are spear and staff. Recently, new acquaintances in the Twelveswood have introduced her to archery, and the Miqo'te tendency to gravitate towards it. She constantly seeks to better herself, and it's not often that she's seen without her bow and quiver, anymore.

Behaviour

Lyf often becomes easily frustrated when she encounters difficulty, and when circumstances allow it, she seeks solitude to pull apart any problem. When forced to deal with others, she easily comes off as aloof, but is actually capable of being amiable once well-acquainted with someone. Her recent experience with other Miqo'te in the Twelveswood has shaped her behavior around their respective cultures. She is insatiably curious about Keepers of the Moon, but extremely wary of Seekers of the Sun, especially males. Any implication that she should join a tribe, or join herself to a nuhn or tia is met with stony, cold resistance from her.

Combat

Lyf will always apply magic, before resorting to physical violence. She has invested years' worth of energy into the intricate studies of the arcane, and is utterly confident in her prowess with them. Inversely, she is largely lacking confidence in her ability to weird a spear. She as also developed a sharp affinity for archery, and often practices until her fingers are near bleeding, or her arrows are destroyed. The speed at which she has taken up this new art amazes even her.

Friends & Acquaintances ● Rhesh'ir Zhwan:A strange miqo'te man, a Keeper of the Moon, whom she met in the Twelveswood at dawn. She has grown quite fond of him, and has relied upon him as a mentor multiple times. He is responsible for introducing her to archery, and has greatly influenced her desire to learn more about the Twelveswood. Their time together has been especially impacting for Lyf, and while she wholly trusts him, she is constantly struggling to grasp the reality of their connection, and how she feels about him.  ● Tahla'li Tayuun:Another Moonkeeper whom she met shortly after becoming acquainted with Rhesh'ir. Though the two Keepers clearly have a connection she is not aware of, she has yet to pry. Tahla'li is decidedly the most obstinate of her Twelveswood companions, and though she values his expertise, she has difficulty wrapping her head around his behavior, at times. In spite of this, she has come to trust him a great deal. A sense of guilt, too, burdens her; she was unable to heal an arrow wound Tahla'li received, and he likely will never again draw a bow effectively.  ● X'linwh Tia:A Sunseeker man who made a distinctly aggressive first impression on Y'lyfriel. When first they met, he was insistent that she join his 'tribe' (indeed, that she had little choice in the matter.) Upon expressing strong displeasure at this, his aggressiveness has faded, and she has become slightly more tolerant of his presence. Recently, she has come to know X'linwh as a friend, and also a foil for her own upbringing. As much as she attempts to teach him about behavior outside of a Sunseeker tribe, she tries just as hard to learn about said tribal life through him.  ● Dawson Colwell:Lyf met this conjurer within the Shroud, and took an immediate liking to him. His subtle, humbled wisdom and carefree wandering—not to mention shared concern about leaving one's home—have allowed her to empathize quite strongly with him. She is also slightly intimidated by his abilities; the concept of channeling aether from one's surroundings, and especially communing with the elementals, is something she cannot wrap her head fully around.  ● Onuma Ahntifi:She is headstrong, slightly impulsive, and three-fold more experienced and traveled than Y'lyfriel; as a result, she is very much looked up to, even in moments where she shouldn't be. Y'lyfriel is immensely curious about the bond between Onuma and Lotan'to. She hasn't seen anything quite so strong between two other people, and is therefor observant of both of them.  ● Lotan'to Jiub:A talented, caring Moonkeeper whom Lyf met shortly after encountering Onuma for the first time. He is exceptionally skilled with a polearm, and very doting towards his companion. Though on good terms, Lyf is slightly cautious of him at times. She seeks to know him, understand him, better.  ● Kodaro Ba'rococo:Lyf knows little about this strange Miqo'te, who speaks like a Lalafell and is a vicious fist-fighter. He is also, apparently, a promising culinarian. Lyf wishes to know him better than she does, but firmly admires his dedication to his companions.  ● Surilian Blu:While the Miqo'te woman has been traveling with the party for some time, Lyf knows exceptionally little about her. She smiles a lot, strives to be helpful, and carries a subtle adventurous streak, but also exhibits strange behavior. After Lyf healed a self-inflicted wound around Suri's eye, she became especially curious about the odd woman.  ● Rah'na Lihzeh:He seems pleasant, and especially drawn to Tahla'li. While Lyf is grateful for another capable companion, she knows the least about this one. Still, he has done nothing to earn her ire or distrust; her curiosity has been temporarily roadblocked by the party's encounter with a tempered Miqo'te tribe, and shortly after, the primal, Ifrit. Having survived the encounter, she plans to learn more about this man.
