::*'''Voice''': ''Edgar is a confident speaker, for sure, but his tone of voice often comes across as bored or uninterested in the topic at hand; however, when discussing serious topics, he will often raise his voice to levels of sharp contrast, or place added emphasis on the overall flow of the sentence. He has come across as out of breath to some, and they may be right to assume; Edgar does not get much exercise outside of his spear training. When discussing more embarrassing subjects, he is known to break out into a panicked stutter. ''

::*'''Demeanor''': ''Edgar tends to keep to himself, roaming back and forth in his quarters with a book to his face. Due to a past rife with little socializing and bad encounters with other people, male or female, Edgar carries a bit of social awkwardness into his conversations. He has been known to get overly emotional over certain subjects, and when the right buttons are pushed, he will not hesitate to become violent, verbally or physically.''

::*'''Personality''': ''Deeply analytic and wise, Edgar knows many things about the world around him, but struggles when it comes to understanding people. He is known to get along better with those of the same "pedigree" as him, interested in the sciences, alchemy, or history, but often has a hard time relating with others who come from different backgrounds. Despite this, Edgar is not beyond sympathy/empathy, and seems compelled to throw himself into desperate or emotional situations others may be in, if he believes it would help them, even if he has no idea what it is he must do to fix the problem. Because of this, some might say that he is actually, deep down, a deeply caring individual, and that his flawed social skills and poor articulation of his feelings, symptoms of his lifestyle for many years, are simply getting in the way of that.''

::*'''Flaws''': ''Edgar tends to be an introvert, staying indoors when not compelled to go outside and explore. This has proven to have a negative effect on his social skills; he often articulates things poorly, and can get quite emotional over certain subjects. His tenacity occasionally benefits him, but more often than not, it leads to unhealthy levels of obsession. His anger is of chief concern, though it may be waning with the recent revelations of the man his father was, and his desire not to be like him.''

::*'''Intelligence''': ''Incredibly wise and worldly. Edgar has a lot to say on the nature of Aether, Magic, Allag, Nym, Alchemy and Technology, making him the perfect partner for exploration of your standard ancient ruin. However, his intellect often confuses simpler folk, like his adoptive sister, Jajara, who he finds he must frequently explain "big words" to, much to the chagrin of both parties.''

Character

Appearance

Edgar has a very lean build with little to no visible musculature; it doesn't take much time without eating to cause his cheeks to become sunk-in and to expose his ribs. He has a lot of difficulty building muscle mass; his frame leans towards lithe, even malnourished, at best. Edgar is, for the most part, content with his body structure, though he can be rather sensitive about the apparent lack of well built legs and certain other nonexistent 'assets'. His complexion is lacking; paler than the light of a full moon, the poor Miqo'te is often mistaken for being anemic or vitamin D deficient, and when an experience sends him blushing, the blush itself manifests as a bright, violently contrasting flash of red across his flesh. In spite of appearances, Edgar is actually relatively healthy, but it is not uncommon for others to jump to conclusions and offer him food, drink, or even medicine because they believe him to be malnourished or sick. Edgar has little to no explanation for his complexion, and even appears to loathe it, referring to himself as a blot of white. In a case of irony, Edgar loathes makeup even more and refuses to use it, even if it would add some much needed colour to his skin, claiming that most, if not all makeup makes his flesh itch to an unbearable extent.

The right half of Edgar's face is scarred with Aetherburns, bizarre patterns that flow across his flesh like tattoos. His right eye is pale white, with the lens appearing to be cracked like glass. The eye never moves, even when the other does, staring straight forward at all times. His hair is a somewhat tamed tuft of fluff, not unlike a phurble's mane, leading into two equally fuzzy ears, and soft to the touch.

"Oh, don't get me wrong, I love everyone. There are just people I love less than others, sometimes by quite a lot."

  • [] S'miko Miyuki - A bard and sister to S'honji, who's trust Edgar earned through a bizarre test; S'miko pretended to be drunk, and instead of taking advantage of her, he took her in his arms and carried her to bed each time, sitting on the edge and denying himself sleep to ensure she would be okay. Edgar cares much for the pink haired Miqo'te, but upon confirming to her that he was in love, she informed him that she had been taken by another. Left reeling by this, the two have become depressed, and talks between them end with teary eyes as they walk away from each other.
  • [] Judge Jredthys - A MYSTERIOUS FELLOW IN HEAVY ARMOR, PROCLAIMING HIMSELF TO BE A JUDGE OF LAW AND ORDER, ENACTING PUNISHMENTS WHEN APPOINTED TO DO SO BY OTHERS. MEETING HIM THROUGH MARISAIE, EDGAR BELIEVES HIM TO BE A POWERFUL ALLY, BUT THE MAN'S BLACK AND WHITE PERSPECTIVES DISTURB HIM.

Rumors

Common Rumors

  • "Gave him a book to read. 5000 pages. He finished it in a couple of nights and returned it, stating that he wished it were longer."
  • "He threw a book at me, a book! Muttered something about "five points" and walked off. I pocketed it-why shouldn't I have, yeah? Always wanted a book on rumors."

Moderate Rumors

  • "Word has it he gave himself that nasty burn on his face. Spell gone awry. Another reason not to become a mage, I suppose."

Rare Rumors

  • "You ever see one of those things he keeps around at all times, what are they called, Egis? Yeah, here's the thing about those; apparently, ya gotta kill a Primal to command its Egi, and even then, ya gotta fight the Egi before it'll serve ya! And they have most of their respective Primal's powers! Think about it; boy has three of those things at his beck and call, so that means not only did he kill three Primals, he fought each of their Egis as well! And he lived to tell the tale! Makes ya wonder what kind of person he is...What he's capable of, right?"
  • "Supposedly, his bastard father went and violated his mother multiple times before they both were murdered. So, he's an illegitimate child, right? But what if-and I'm just speculating here, but bear with me-what if he wasn't the only one born of that pairing from hell? Can you imagine what his brother would be like? Or his sister? Assuming he has one of either, that is. But if he does...Poor bastard probably doesn't even know he has family left, does he?"
  • "Y'know, I've seen him looking at dresses outside the Weaver's Guild, often for a long, long time. I decided to strike a conversation with him; asked what he thought of this one dress. I got the weirdest response ever; he critiqued everything, from the frilly bits down to the colour coordination. It took him I think 40 minutes to get it all out. And even then, I had to give an excuse to get the hells out of there, cause I had an inkling he wasn't even finished, yet! For a boy, he sure knows a lot about women's clothing. Makes ya wonder..."

PC Rumors

  • "Sometimes I get the feelin' that boy cares too much, y'know? But he's been as good a friend as I could wish for. Ain't many folks like that, no." - Jajara Jara
  • "He is not so innocent as he may seem. 'Tis little else to say of the boy save, 'be wary.'" - Delial Grimsong
  • "An angry little cat. He's deceiving, educated and can get quite fiery once he's lit up. The sod took a swing at me when his friend failed to kill herself. Like it was my fault. Why should I show compassion for her? Fool." - Grieving Hound
