General Information Born in Ul'dah, leaving to Limsa, and currently residing in the Shroud, Oliver Amaranth has spent his fair share of time in nearly every area of Eorzea. Most of said time after his entering into adulthood was spent as bounty hunter, yet he has mostly given up the job in favor of working for the Harbingers of Dawn. On occasion, one might find him on the hunt, but in his current days he's much likely to be caught tending to wounds rather than inflicting them. Outside of doing whatever it is he does for the Harbingers, Oliver tends to drift from place to place doing whatever it is that comes to his mind at the time. Typically, that involves shenanigans of some sort, an example of which being that one time he stole a ship with a skeleton crew, then proceeded to lose said ship to a storm approximately one month later. Needless to say, he certainly isn't known for any sort of piracy, given his wonderful piloting. ❝ Call me by my full title: Captain Oliver James Cousland Amaranth of the Blueberry Charlotte Snark. ❞ Appearance Bearing Laterality Voice Varying between lackadaisical and casual. Right-handed. Clear, concise, and bold. Hair & Eyes Throughout the entirety of Oliver's life, the half Miqo'te has been to lengthier styles of hair accompanied by bangs. From the jet black locks that extended just above his midback as a child, to its eventual shoulder-length in his adolesence, as time goes along, he seems to be more and more comfortable with less of it covering him. This trend has continued well into the present, his hair now shorter than ever before with strands at his bangs just long enough to cover his eyes if he allows it, and just short of his neck the rest around. Parted to the right, Oliver seems quite comfortable letting his unnaturally faded bangs fall over his bright emerald eye. In fact, he does it intentionally, leaving only the striking sapphire of his left side visible in most lines of sight as to misdirect attention away from scarring alongside the emerald orb. Physique & Markings Taller than most other male Miqo'te by a fair amount, Oliver stands at a towering five fulms and eleven ilms. Not at all extraordinary amongst the Eorzean races, but certainly unique within his own kin, and he is overwhelmingly prideful of fact, though he'll never say it. Height, however, is the most prominent feature of his physique. From a physical standpoint, his build is comparable to that of a runner's: slender and slim. That's not to say he's completely and entirely lanky. In fact, the truth of the matter is quite the opposite: he has a respectable amount of lean muscle built up from a time where drastically more was demanded of him. Over time, however, his once well-toned body has its former glory, leaving him looking more fragile than he's comfortable appearing. Yet again, however, this impression finds itself challenged by the sheer number of scars littering the skin atop his thin frame. Slashes, gashes, stabbings, and more can be found scattered along him from neck-to-toes. Most are just the typical remnants of battles long past, but there are a few that may provoke more than just a single glance, such as the perfectly symmetrical circle wrapping around his neck, the bite mark ilms beneath the outside of his left shoulder, and the scarring beside his right eye stand out more than the rest of them. At least that's what he tells himself. Truth be told, he cares for the each of them quite deeply in spite of his lack of contact with both throughout his life. Even more so, he wishes for the opportunity to prove himself worthy of their affections, willing to damn near anything just to hear they care. Whether or not that day will come.. Well, it has yet to be seen. As much as he longs for the opportunity, if the past is a predicator of the future, he'll never get it. x120px Neheon Wolfsbane ( ♦ ✔ ) Sister from Another Mister Though Oliver may have many acquaintances, even friends by all definitions, there are very few whom can claim themselves closer to him than Neho. Even if they may not hang out as often as he'd like, Oliver tends to enjoy every second spent with the Xaela and her boytoy, another of his closest friends. No, friend isn't a term worthy of either of them. She's family to him, and he holds her high above damn near everyone. x120px Doctor Ozerov ( ♦ ✔ ) Brother from Another Mother Significant other to Neho, Oliver knew Kaisin Ozerov long before he had ever met Neheon. Like he does with his girlfriend, Oliver is comfortable with himself around good ol' Doc, feeling at home when they're together with Neho. Although others may question Oliver's flirtation with the man, wondering if there's something more, the answer is quite simple: there isn't. Doc is the brother Oliver always wished he had. He prays that this time, the two will never find themselves venturing opposite paths again; that they'll remain brothers as long as they live. It shouldn't be that hard, right? Though he misses her friendship, he won't exert any effort to get it back. If she misses him, she'll do it herself, in his mind.. x120px Minox Moks ( ❣ ♦ � ) Storm Chaser While not the most complicated of Oliver's relationships given the lack of presence in his current life, there is no denying that Oliver misses Nox. No matter how horrible circumstances between them had grown during their time together, she had also been the most stable element throughout his life; he hates to admit such, but it's true as can be. Every failed attempt to replace the hole she left in his heart has utterly failed, leaving him missing her more and more. In spite of every memory that aches in his heart at he thought of her, the smile she put on his face during that period of his life outweighs it. There's not a doubt in his mind that he should never have let her go, but.. at the time, he had to do what felt right to him. What seemed right at the time may have been the worst decision he ever made, and he wishes he could rewind it all if it gave him the chance to be by her side again. He doesn't expect such a wish to come true. x120px Madam Seraphine ( ♦ � ) A Part of Him Simple yet complex, Oliver's relationship with the succubus has never been particularly black or white, always delving into his uncertainties and insecurities. For the longest time, she was the both his best of friends and the love of his life; he placed her on a pedestal and knelt from below, viewing her as perfection in every way. He would have done just about anything for her, but not everything. In her recent absence, Oliver's life has found itself shaken. On one hand, he misses her, yet on the other, he knows the chance to have been her one and only was far too good to be true. It could never have lasted, he tells himself. Regardless, he can no longer complain. In the end, he was the one to shut the door. He just had thought they parted ways on terms suitable for at least a goodbye. x120px Gospel Gestalt ( ♦ ● ) Golipop A rival for the affections of Madam Seraphine until his eventual forfeit, Oliver's opinion on Gospel is far from positive, but not negative all the same. Despite the good man Oliver knows Gospel is, Oliver indirectly blames Gospel (through himself) for her sudden disappearance, with no real evidence outside of the fact that both the Hyur and the succubus have vanished. Then again, it derived from his own choice, didn't it? x120px Nenanie Durendaire ( ♦ ✔ ) Opposite Elements Perhaps one of the few faces introduced to him through his meeting of Sera, Neena is perhaps the only person he views in a positive light in spite of all that has taken place over the course of a few months. Her penchant for fire, his knack for frost, while the two may have been elementally opposites, their personalities were incredibly similar for quite a bit of time. Though at this point, Oliver has grown out of his own angsty state, whereas Neena seems to remain within it. No matter that, he can't help but find the woman enticing both physically and mentally, having developed a small crush on the Duskwight. Perhaps it could become more if he saw her more often, but as it goes, the crush will likely subside somewhat soon. OOC Notes Player Information Player Note Heyo, I'm Silvyr, the player behind Oliver and the shenanigans he brings wherever it is he goes! First, if you've read the wiki, I hope you found what's available an enjoyable, interesting read. Albeit, it's not completely finished yet, but I'm willing to overlook that fact if you are. ^_- As for a bit about myself.. Well, I've been roleplaying and writing as such for quite a bit of time, but I've only been doing so on MMOs such as FFXIV for about a year, currently going on two, so I'm still a bit shy on the matter. Regardless, feel free to ask ahead of time if you'd like to RP with me at some point; I'm usually open, but if I tell you I'm busy at the time, don't fret! I do my best to plan and plot with people, even if it may take a bit of time to actually get it down. In the grand scheme of things, I'm not all too picky of a roleplayer. With that said, I am a firm believer in keeping a character's actions as realistic as possible. Trust is earned, relationships are built, love is kindled. As Oliver's player, I hold the right to determine the path he travels, be it a dark path or a light path, unwanted or wanted. I will not change my character based on the desires of others, and if I feel as though there is an OOC pressure attempting to push him, rather than an IC, I'll pull him out of whatever situation this may be. I naturally try to build friendships with the people I choose to roleplay with, but no matter how close we may get, that is what we are: friends.
