"I'm a mind healer. I can restore and remove memories, cure curses, and exorcise posessions. Khyran Oisin. A pleasure." With such a clinical tone, it hardly sounded like a pleasure.

As winter takes me now, of cold and clammy skin.
A barren, empty womb as I am born again.
It's pulling at my hair, and clawing all within.
The monster in your head won't surface again.
Be still my child, wash away the sin.

[edit]

Eyes Hair Skin Body Type Voice
Brown. He only has his left eye in-tact. Black. He has a thick mane past his shoulders, often greasy and unwashed. Pale. His complexion is often sallow, nearing jaundiced. Skeletal. He would probably be naturally lean, had he not been starved. Mellow. His face/voice claim is, loosely, Adrien Brody.
Bearing Laterality Scars Tattoos & Piercings Style
Subdued, hunched. Right-handed. A long scar cuts from his brow to lips over his missing eye. He has several linkpearl piercings in his ears. He favors wearing black, white, and red.

I know to live, you must give your life away.

Khyran wouldn't really be called "attractive" by conventional standards. He has an angular, skull-like face: hollow cheeks and deep sockets framed by long, dark hair that has grown past his shoulderblades. His nose remains the most striking feature of his face: too long, jutting, and pointed. He only has one eye, bloodshot and jaundiced. His other is a gouged socket, unsettling and deep. He has thin lips concealing crooked, imperfect teeth. He has a short, trim goatee and a stubble-darkened jaw. His voice can be described as mellow and airy.

He is about 5'6" and nearly corpselike in weight, like he crawled out of his own grave. His skin is sallow and pale. He usually smells as an unwashed man would- with a lingering hint of copper. It is safe to assume he has an eating disorder, or is too poor to eat. More often than not, he stands in a slouch and moves slowly. His joints often pop when he moves. He seems incapable of running very long, as the attempt leaves him breathless to the point of collapse. When he walks, its usually with his head bowed and with a consistent limp. If he carries weapons, they must be expertly concealed, for there is absolutely no sign of such things on his person.

His voice and expression rarely betray many emotions. He tends to avoid eye contact with people, and keeps his head down. It may appear as though he is not paying attention to anything. However, if he's asked a question, or if it is relevant, his observations on people or situations are startlingly accurate. He is known to point things out that others would have barely noticed. He's paying attention, no matter how distant he appears. It may be difficult to slip anything past him.

Early September 2015 Update

Whirr. Clunk. Whirrrr. Clunk. The sounds, hushed, emit from the man's left leg when he walks. When idle, the leg emits a faint purring sound. His clothes often obscure the leg's metallic appearance up to his foot, which is often exposed. It is a sleek, black metal. His other leg, too, is carried strangely. Though it is mostly flesh, those who see the leg without his robes or pants covering it would find that it is augmented with metal plates and cylindrical objects. He walks with a funny little limp on it at most times, and is rarely seen without a sleek wooden walking stick.

For the beauty of grace is that it makes life unfair.

Put simply, Khyran hates himself.

It isn't that he flaunts it, or is proud of it, or uses it to collect sympathy. To him, it is simply a fact. He believes he is worth nothing, and therefore places no value on his own life. It seems that the only reason why Khyran is still alive is his willingness to be of service to those he cares about. If he must do something for the sake of his own survival, it is often with reluctance and guilt. It is nearly impossible to threaten him; he simply does not know fear.

He does, however, know anxiety- for he is nervous in crowds and social gatherings. To him, socializing with strangers is like pulling teeth. He prefers watching people from corners or meeting with individuals privately. He's a good listener: honest, genuine, and forthright. He doesn't sugar-coat or beat around the bush. If he sees a problem, he brings it up. He has no motivation other than to be helpful, even though his good intentions can often backfire: angering his friends and stirring up controversy where it was not needed.

Unfortunately, the man is quite bleak. He is known to expect the worst- and hope for it, too. He is rarely good-humored, and often resorts to subtle sarcasm to express his displeasure. That sarcasm is often impossible to hear in his typically dead, emotionless tone of voice. It's exceptionally difficult to get Khyran to have a good time. On rare occasions, he enjoys a smoke or a drink with select company- so long as it doesn't involve lusty women (or men) and loose tongues. Khyran is an insufferable prude. Some would describe him as the human equivalent of a toothache.

At his best, he makes for pleasant, helpful company and an unbiased listening ear. At his worst, he's depressing, blunt and stubbornly set in his ways, making him infuriating to those who care about him. On top of everything, he's tight-lipped about anything in regards to his history, and the way he just stares and watches people can make him a dreadfully suspicious and enigmatic man. Still, he doesn't appear to be the sort of person capable of doing harm even if he wanted to.

Or is he?

"Take my hand... and jump."

Long story short? Khyran can go into people's heads. All he has to do is touch them on the forehead. It is based on the magics involved in spiritbonding, materia, and the aetheric force which encompasses one's being.

Once he touches a forehead, he spiritbonds with that person. He can view their memories, replaying like a dream. He can place himself within the context of that memory, as a 'projection' of himself. He can also be joined by the projection of his patient.

Once he does that, he can snag his patient's memories and convert them to materia. That materia is thus drawn out of their head, forgotten by the patient entirely. Thus, he considers himself something of a "bad memory surgeon". Though these abilities come with varying degrees of suspicion and discomfort from those who know of his gift, there is always the few desperate enough to ask him for help.

Depending on how long he is able to focus and how willing the "patient" is, Khyran can do anything from wipe out entire sections of someone's memories to selectively drawing out the bad parts from an otherwise good memory. He collects the materia thereafter. Some patients request that he do specific things with the materia and he always follows suit. But if the patient is unable or unsure to specify, he keeps them very safe - but won't say exactly where.

Alongside erasing memories, Khyran can also restore memories lost via magical manipulation - not so much memories lost from physical damage, though he could certainly try.

Yet another implication of his abilities allows him to deal with curses and dark magic left in someone else's mind.

Last, but not least, Khyran has the ability to hunt down Voidsent possession. He might be one of the few people in Eorzea capable of truly ending the existence of such creatures, rather than simply banishing them back into the Void.

IMPLICATIONS

MEMORY REMOVAL AND RESTORATION: If your character has a problem they want to let go of and forget about, be it an old failed relationship or some level of war PTSD, Khyran can certainly help. The memory will be removed in the form of materia. Note: he can also remove his own memories in the same manner. Similarly, if your character has memories blocked off, he can attempt to restore them, though he cannot create something out of nothing. Memory restoration can only be achieved if the "patient" still has accessible memories trapped in their mind somewhere. He cannot salvage memories that have been stolen or lost completely.

FALSE MEMORIES AND GRAFTING: Because Khyran can't make something out of nothing, he cannot create false memories in normal circumstances. However, given a lot of time and care, he can preform something he calls "grafting": snipping tidbits of dialogues, emotions, people, and places out of one memory and placing them in another. Jobs like this are almost always imperfect and with noticeable seams, and Khyran only does this if he feels there is no other choice to help the patient recover from a circumstance. It does come with its own set of risks.

CURSE REMOVAL: If your character has a mental curse or some level of dark magic that is burdening them, Khyran can attempt to remove it.

VOIDSENT EXORCISM: Definitely the messiest and most difficult operation Khyran can perform. If a character is possessed, Khy is uniquely equipped to hunt the thing down. Because Voidsent can create a physical body, just killing their body isn't enough to ensure their death. But if he can catch them in an immaterial form- while they're possessing a body- he can truly ensure it's end by preventing its aether from returning to the Void. He will trap the Voidcreature in the form of materia. Because of Khyran's experience in dealing with matters of the Void, he is well-traversed in understanding their hierarchy, behaviors, typical locations, manners in which individuals can be caught, and ways to protect against their attacks. He is considered very skilled as a Voidhunter despite his appearances.

INTERFERENCE: On rare occasions, people who are around Khyran while he's asleep, unconscious, or emotionally distressed might hear ringing in their ears. If asked, Khyran's explanations are often vague, but it seems connected with the process of memory removal that he instills upon patients. Those who have recently had a memory removed by him will hear the ear-ringing more than others, and only when they are around him. On occasion, the ringing grows louder, and could be almost maddening. It seems he can cause it on purpose, if he really wanted to.

HE CAN DESTROY: This ability as a whole should not be underestimated under any circumstances: Khyran's power is terrifying. If he so chose, he can remove aspects of someone's personality. He can even destroy them at the very core of their being. If he wanted, he could cause great physical, mental, and spiritual pain simply by touching someone on the head. He can steal their secrets, weave through their darkest closets, and expose them to a most bitter end.

CONDITIONS

CONTACT REQUIRED: Physical contact is required between Khyran and the patient in order for any of his powers to work. Khyran is very weak physically, thus he seems to be easy to circumvent if a character is being targeted without their IC consent. However, once he can manage to grasp the "patient's" forehead, his magic is often difficult to escape unless the "patient" is strong-willed. If he loses physical contact, the connection will sever immediately, and his power over that person will cease.

PROJECTION-SOUL LINK: A "projection" of someone's self within the realms of the mind is closely linked to their soul's aether. If the projection in someone's mind is damaged or killed by an inhabiting curse or Voidsent, there are great risks posed to the physical body. The threat in dealing with such magics is very real. Someone's aether can be damaged, even to the point of death. If the connection is severed prematurely while Khyran's projection or his patient's projection is currently under threat from an occupying curse or hostile presence, such as a Voidsent, then there is the particularly chilling risk that Khyran's mental aether would be trapped within the patient's mind, unable to return to his own body. His body, alive, would be left behind, mindless. The patient would thus be forced to carry him around until/if a solution can be found.

YOU CAN RESIST: It is possible to put up mental resistance against Khyran, even if he currently has physical contact with the patient. If your character is strong-willed, well-trained, or magically gifted in any way, they can resist him.

THE POWER IS TAXING: The power is physically and aetherically draining on both Khyran and the patient. After a session, a patient might experience headaches or terrible pain in their body. On occasion, Khyran himself can be caught suffering nosebleeds or gripping at his head as if in pain. He quickly corrects this behavior if he knows he's being watched. .

OTHER LIMITATIONS: There are many limitations to Khyran's power that he simply refuses to explain- withholding information that he likely deems unnecessary to communicate. For example, Khyran cannot enter the Aetherstream to travel without external aid. He is thus blocked from teleportation unless he is either able to directly touch an aethyrite or if another source of powerful magic can transport him. He won't explain why this is, but hints that it has something to do with his unique aether.

OTHER INFORMATION

ON PROJECTIONS: Every time Khyran enters someone's head, he, as well as they, can create a "projection" of themselves. It's a subconscious thing, the natural response to dreaming. But with practice, just like lucid dreaming, someone can change the form of their projection if they so wish, with practice. Khyran, himself, particularly favors the form of a vulture when he is hunting Voidsents. Changing one's projection is often very difficult, as it requires a skill similar to lucid dreaming. It is difficult to alter one of the most fundamental aspects of how one views themselves.

ON WARDS: Khyran refers to protective spells as "wards". He can make them in two ways. He can use his own memories- in the form of materia he creates- to enhance an existing item in the physical world. Or, he can enter in the mind of another, and sacrifice a portion of the aether which constitutes his life force to leave within his patient's mind. In actuality, he leaves behind a fragment of his own soul. There is thus a very limited number of times he can leave wards within someone else's mind, and he rarely does so. Oftentimes an issue within his target's mind could be solved by his own powers alone. But there are rare situations where this is not the case, and he thus employs his mental ward techniques.

Physical Wards can do several things. They can make the wearer of the enhanced item less desirable to be targeted by voidsents. They can protect the wearer from evil curses. Or, they can discourage any kind of aether from entering the wearer at all. The wards are often very general and nonspecific, up to the wearer's OOC discretion to guide as they want.

Mental Wards exist in three very distinct categories that Khyran is able to create with his own soul. There is the Discernment Ward, the Protection Ward, and the Destruction Ward. The Discernment Ward enables the target person to become more aware of whatever dark presence is in their mind- be it a Voidsent Khyran cannot remove at that present time, a curse that he cannot neutralize, or any other potential hostile mental presence. The Protection Ward enables the tiny portion of Khyran's soul some level of sentience within that person's mind, and it will try to keep hostile things from entering, or weakening hostile things that are already present. The Destruction Ward does the opposite of help the target. It is the opposite of the Protection Ward, designed to hurt the target instead of help them.

As of now, Khyran has used mental wards 4 times in his life. His limit is 12. He will die once he reaches that number. He can't take a ward back once it is used. If the person carrying his ward dies, or if his ward is removed by another force, he will suffer greatly.

ON COMBAT

GENERAL NOTES

  • KHYRAN DISCRIMINATES: In the event a storyline leads to combat situations, Khyran will respond depending on who the target is. He is only willing to inflict harmful damage on non-sentient, undead or voidsent targets. His definition of "sentient" includes Beastkin.

  • KHYRAN CARRIES NO WEAPONS: His only "weapon" requires him to touch his target on the head with skin-to-skin contact. This limitation is both in place as part of his character as well as a balance against his powerful abilities.

  • MAGITEK BOOST: He has a Magitek false leg which enables him a limited-capacity jump boost. He can briefly launch himself a short distance. He can only do this 3 times per combat session.

  • KHYRAN IS FLIMSY: Khyran is remarkably flimsy and I will play him as such: his body cannot take much before it is damaged beyond usefulness in combat.

/RANDOM SPECIFIC

  • NOTE: I prefer to RP combat with the in-game /random system to keep the outcome unbiased. However, I prefer to use the following buffs/debuffs when applicable. (We will discuss it before RP combat commences.)

  • IMMUNITY: Khyran is immune to possession, by Voidcreatures or otherwise.

  • DEFENSE BUFF: Khyran will receive a +200 buff to any roll in which he is defending against a Voidcreature who is attempting to harm him mentally: he has strong will.

  • ATTACK BUFF: Khyran will receive a +200 buff to any roll in which he is attacking a Voidcreature or a possessed person by touching them on the head.

  • DEFENSE WEAKNESS: Khyran will receive a -200 buff to any roll in which he is defending against physical damage.

  • ATTACK WEAKNESS: Khyran will receive a -200 buff to any roll in which he is attempting to run, or use any amount of significant physical energy against his opponent.

OOC NOTE

As with all my RP, OOC consent is always requested and discussed before Khy uses his mind powers on anyone. Khy's ability is powerful, but he will never use it on anyone OOC unwilling. Generally, he gets IC consent as well, but there may be rare cases where the character may wish to remove a memory by force from someone. If this situation arises, all details will- and must- be decided on and agreed with OOC beforehand, and will only be done if all parties involved in the memory removal agree and think it's a good addition to their character's plot. There will not be any power-playing from Khyran!

Anyone wanting to RP a memory removal with Khyran should be willing to RP with him for a long time. Part of the materia creation process is about a bond between Khyran and the individual in question. This is just a reason to RP with him and develop our characters together! Due to the nature of his magic, as it deals with matters of the mind, it is malleable to suit your purposes.

Basically, please keep an open line of communication with me. Khyran's various abilities exist to make RP a little more interesting, not to hinder your story or throw a wrench at your character. I hate power-playing- I hate it when it is done to me and I have no plans to do it to anyone else!

PLAYER CHARACTERS
Players must have a significant interaction with Khyran to get on this list. It's always changing!
    FRIENDS
Tsaganarii Dhoro painstakingly chiseled past Khyran's armor, becoming his very first friend. While they have somewhat drifted apart in recent days, he still considers her very close. They have unfinished business hanging between them, however, and he feels as though she is resistant to the idea of finishing it. It has caused some subdued tension that he has been unwilling to communicate. While they are not often seen together, he can still be heard speaking affectionately about her, and praises her strong will.
Mikha Sunthistle won Khyran's affections over time due to his unabashed optimism. In matters of personality, "opposites attract" might be a viable statement to make. While Khyran could aptly be described as a personified toothache, Mikha's chipper, happy-go-lucky nature effectively serves as his foil. He has grown very fond of Mikha, and would give his life to protect him, knowing full well Mikha would try to stop him if he did. While Khyran often struggles to be happy, if he's with Mikha, he really does try- more for his sake than his own.
Khana Borlaaq has been nothing but kind to him, in the times he needed her most. He appreciates her immensely. Due to a complex series of events, he knows quite a lot about her- probably as much about her as she knows about herself. His only desire in regards to her is to keep her happy and safe, and protect her from the various threats in her life, even though he often feels it is a fruitless endeavor. He is the godfather to her child, Anujin, and is currently focusing most of his efforts on saving her from a most unfortunate predicament.
Sigurd Sundsteigen and Khyran's relationship could best be described as "complicated." There are times Khyran finds himself loathing the man to the point where he questions why he's even his friend. And then, there are days when Khyran would desire nothing more than to have a nice smoke with him and talk for hours about life's various hurdles. In the end, Khyran knows he's been to hell and back so many times with Sigurd, it would be foolish to turn away. Despite their extreme moral differences, Khyran would gladly plunge into hell again and again for him, if it meant he could finally free Sigurd from his personal demons.
    ACQUAINTANCES
Y'paanko Rhak is a bit full of herself. Then again, maybe Khyran is full of himself, too. He doubts he can be of any service in teaching her about his magics, in the same way someone can't take a speck of dust out of someone else's eye.
Silbyrund Valyss is an enigma. He saw in her something she likely shows very few others. He does not know what to make of it, but he wishes to see an ally in her.
Caolan Achaius is perhaps one of the few men that Khyran would actually enjoy sharing a pint and no conversation with, and find absolutely nothing awkward about it.
Elyon Eba was there at the right place at the right time- or the wrong place at the wrong time, depending on how you look at it. Because of their circumstances, Khyran found himself giving his trust to her quite readily and quickly. He knows very little about her, however, a fact that he hopes will change soon.
Vi Lindon gave him food and much-needed company when he needed it. He currently likes her, though he's uncertain to what extent. Her emotions, and her obsession with Nald'thal, remains an enigma to him.
Connor Tavarin seems to have come to terms with Khyran's secret. He thinks Connor is pure of heart and noble to a fault. He respects the man.
Odette Saoirse walked through hell with Khyran. It's hard to do that with someone and not feel a connection to them. He hopes they will grow closer in time, though he still has difficulty reading her. He feels she bears secrets- something he can relate to.
Avis Inkwood is the sort of stranger you'll meet on a cold, rainy night and never forget about. Their brief encounter resonated with him. She might be able to help him with a very particular problem he is faced with... hopefully they will speak again.
John Waterstrike struck Khyran as good-natured, and he wishes to know more about his services as a mind therapist. He exercises some amount of caution around John, as he is fairly certain the fellow is more suspicious of him than not.
Glace Silencieuse assisted in an amputation, but Khy's brief impression of him is negative. Something about him rubs him the wrong way. Perhaps it was the way he claimed to enjoy the taste of raw meat? Or the way he so delicately sliced perfect designs into his flesh during surgery? Or perhaps it's how unnaturally cold he is, in more ways that one.
Eduard Harlow struck Khyran as pretentious and full of himself... but also right. So, perhaps, he earned it.
     ENEMIES AND RIVALS
Nathaniel of Salem isn't exactly an "enemy" or even a "rival". However, Khyran finds himself, more often than not, so strongly disagreeing with Nathaniel's views and principles that his negative emotions are often stoked in his presence. Khyran does a lot of ornery yelling, and Nate tends to return it with mere annoyance. Thus, Khyran probably feels more strongly about Nate than he does towards him.
Llinos Silvernail once could have been considered a friend, but Khyran's actions burned the bridge. Now, they'd be lucky even to be on speaking terms.
Lathu'a Jhiyati has saved Khyran's life several times- or rather, "spared" it. Even so, Khyran is wary, even hostile towards him more often than not. There are still too many mysteries left to unravel before Khyran can truly put his finger on who- or what- Lathu'a is.
Septimus Nero Varus Nerva is a Magitek engineer and proprietor of Ebonbrand Technoworks. He was responsible for Khyran's false leg. Even so, Khyran's view of him teeters between mild annoyance and seething dislike. He is wary, too, as one would be wary of a snake, and keeps a close eye on Septimus's movements.
Narantu Dazkar was once considered one of his greatest enemies- but due to complex circumstances, Khyran is now simply keeping a watchful eye on her. Hoping. Praying that the person she once was won't return.
O'jirho Tia's hatred of Khyran is one-sided, alas.
Wemrys Quintos's hatred of Khyran is one-sided, and very well justified.
Skylar Brooks is more hostile towards Khy than he is towards her. But he is growing further wary and suspicious of her. He has been trying to thwart one of her particular problems, and this has won her ire.

More Soon.

    FAMILY AND FRIENDS
Khyran's mother. Sairah Oisin

I recoiled as I watched the hammer fall. It fell... and fell... and fell again.

Khyran's brother. Kane Oisin

I would give you more... but I cannot face you now. Not yet. I'm not ready.

Khyran's niece. Lily Oisin

I cannot even look at the flowers you were named for. I would defile it.

Khyran's mentor. Isolde Wren

I had not the strength to even bury you.

Khyran's goddaughter. Anujin Sundsteigen-Borlaaq

I will give my life so that you can be a normal girl.

AFFILIATIONS

  • Ebonbrand Technoworks: While no longer an employee, Khyran has close ties with many who work there, and can often be seen at their estate.

  • Wayfinders Solace: The caravan seems to be out of business, but anyone who was once associated with the traveling merchants may have heard of him or remember his face.

  • But Did The Hound Bark, My Lord?: If you know not the answer, then you're free to go about your business.

RP IDEAS

  • Khyran is an exceptionally rare find: he can remove your memories, and remove voidsents from your body if you are possessed.
  • Anyone from, or spends a lot of time at, Costa del Sol might have heard of him. Let's talk about how our characters might have known each other in the past!
  • Khyran often lurks in places where people are poor, desperate, and struggling. He might approach your character by his own volition if your character happens to appear "desperate".
  • The Arcanist's Guild and Thamaturge's Guild both wish for Khyran's cooperation to study his abilities. He continually refuses and avoids confrontation with scholars who wish to probe him for his knowledge. If your character works for such associations, they might have heard of him.

OTHER APPEARANCES

  • The Bonding Ceremony of Sigurd Sundsteigen and Khana Borlaaq: Khyran was one of the guests and carried the couple's baby with him, suggesting he is close to them in some way.

Section is intentionally vague and only meant to chronicle significant portions of this character's life and arc as he is roleplayed in-game. If you want more details, ask him IC!

IN THE PAST: Few in Costa del Sol may know his name and loathe it. Popular theory is that he drowned. But Khyran Oisin lives. His power remains. How is he going to use it?

JOINS WFS. JULY 2015: Despite his misgivings about traveling with people, Khyran's hand was forced by his own poor health. He could no longer do what he intends to do alone. He joined the Wayfinders Solace Caravan, and made known his secret to the caravan master, Jikam. His intent was not to make friends, or family. It was to be useful. The caravan encountered a brief spat with gremlins, and he injured his leg. He recovered well, but his self-sacrificial actions that day were observed as foolhardy and stupid.

WFS FIGHTS THE VOIDSENT. EARLY AUGUST 2015: The Wayfinders became embroiled in a plot involving a Voidsent. Taking great personal risks, the Wayfinders defeated the Voidsent monster in the frozen mountains of Coerthas. The caravan generally felt Khyran's foolhardy- and unexpectedly effective- contributions were helpful against the metaphysical monster, and he won some respect among them.

OUTED AS A FUGITIVE; CRIPPLED PERMANENTLY. LATE AUGUST 2015: Following a complicated string of events, Khyran's secret was revealed to the majority of the caravan's members. Driven by guilt, fear, and external pressure, he left the caravan. He was tracked down and taken back by force, but not after he made a terrible mistake and was shot in the leg by someone in self-defense. His left femur was shattered. He awaits trial within the caravan's own system of government. He will likely never walk on his leg again without external support, and is permanently crippled.

TRIAL COMPLETED; GOING THROUGH CHANGES. EARLY SEPTEMBER 2015: The outcome of Khyran's trial was as good for him as it could have been, given the circumstances. He is now trying to re-evaluate his life and figure out how he can best make up for his sins and be stronger for others. But because of his shattered leg bone, he's having difficulty doing *anything* beyond lie around in bed or struggle to get places on crutches. He is staying on a regular supply of pain relief injections just to stay sane, and he's developed an addiction to them. He's struck up a very difficult deal with an engineer in hopes to have a replacement leg built for him.

LEG REPLACED. EARLY SEPTEMBER 2015: Khyran now has a prosthetic leg, and modified his existing leg to accommodate a new ability. He now has a limited-capacity jump boost, as well as increased stamina. As far as the rest of his weak, withered body goes, however... there's little to be done about that.

ON THE HUNT. LATE SEPTEMBER/EARLY OCTOBER 2015: Khyran became aware that two of his acquaintances are dealing with Voidsent enemies. Though he is still struggling to walk on his still-healing legs, he began the struggle to locate, and kill, these Voidsent creatures. One of them, he barely managed to remove traces of its influence from his friend's mind. The other, he only managed a slight lock on the creature before it eluded his attention. As so much of his time is absorbed in trying to track down these creatures, he hardly had a chance to rest, and his abuse of the painkillers reached a critical level. He began stealing from his friends and co-workers, which led to an eventual intervention by Khana.

LEAVES WFS. IN THE SHADOWS. LATE OCTOBER/EARLY NOVEMBER 2015: Khyran left his previous company. Many who he considered himself on friendly terms with no longer associate with the company, and due to a recent issue involving Voidsents, he felt it was no longer safe for those remaining in WFS for him to stay. The few he considered close enough to be his friend, he harshly turned away, in hopes that they would not try to follow him. Depressed and homeless again, Khyran began searching for meaning in life beyond his desire to hunt and kill Voidsents. Alas, finding a new home has eluded him as of late, and he has put himself completely into his work. While drunk, his friends Sigurd and Mikha convinced him to buy a chocobo chick, which has given him some hope.

EVIL REARS ITS HEAD. DECEMBER 2015: Khyran made a great sacrifice for his newborn goddaughter, Anujin. Now, it seems an old enemy of his friend Sigurd is rising up again, after he was once thought banished. Khyran is scrambling to put together what meager resources he has in order to stop this creature- all the while balancing new and difficult health problems that arose due to his sacrifice. He feels this is the deep breath before the plunge.

COMPANIONS

A recently-hatched chocobo in Khyran's care was named Bastion by his business associate, Connor Tavarin. The bird was lovingly purchased for Khyran by Sigurd Sundsteigen. His friends additionally felt that having such a companion to care for would help give Khyran purpose. The bird is not yet saddlebroken and is too young to ride. At nearly two months old, however, the chocobo is growing bigger every day. Khyran often entrusts Mikha Sunthistle to the bird's care, as he is often busy traveling.

ABOUT ME

Hi, I'm Aeo! Or Aeolian. I'm 23 and I've been roleplaying for the better half of my life. You may have seen me before in some fashion on WoW, ESO, NWN2, and Lotro. I've also been dabbling in a lot of RP forums. RP is a hobby of mine. I really enjoy it. But I just do it to have fun. I'm not scary, and I'd love to talk to you about anything at all. ^^ Feel free to catch me in-game to ask for my skype, or send me an ask on my tumblr blog.

I'm an artist. I make graphics for a sporting goods company full time. When I'm not RPing in my spare time, I'm drawing or working on my graphic novel Age of Mortality. If you're interested in the art found throughout this profile, it's mine! And I have commissions available here!

I live somewhere in the American South with my husband, who plays Selthrana White. We have two cats, Chai Tea and Total Biscuit.

RP PREFERENCES

Let's Communicate. I want to hear what you want to do! RP is all about telling stories and making friends. Don't be scared of me- I'm probably more scared of you. x.x'

Yes, I Have Triggers. "Trigger" is a word that gets thrown around a lot, but yes, I have one. Please keep me informed if you are planning to RP anything that has to do with baby death. Otherwise, I don't have any serious issues with dramatic or serious content.

I'm Heavy-RP. I rarely even play the game for the game. I'm RPing almost all the time. I haven't even gotten into the Heavensward content. I live and breathe storytelling and thus I'm willing to pay money to put myself in a community of like-minded people. Additionally, I never take into account character class, level, gear, stats, etc. in my RP. I treat characters as I see them as people, not DnD sheets.

I Match Your Style. Generally, if you give me short posts, I'll give you short posts. If you give me long posts, I'll give you long posts.

Plot-heavy. I prefer telling stories and involving the community at large. I will rarely be found idling in taverns, I prefer pursuing a story or a conflict.

OOC>IC. Your personal happiness will take precedence over preserving my character's integrity. If Khy would do something that YOU don't want, he will not do it. Simple as that! I am not a 100% immersionist RPer.

No ERP, Romance Limited. Please don't RP with me just to bang Khyran. I've had a few people hit on me OOC and I don't really appreciate that. (I'm married!) I'm really uncomfortable with RPing romance and sexuality most of the time because it's often difficult for people to keep the OOC=/=IC barrier in tact. If you want to pursue a romance plot with Khyran, you're welcome to do so, but please keep communication open with me. You WILL NOT get in his pants, so if you're still interested in a romance plot regardless, then we can totally see what our characters do. I can't guarantee anything, though. ^^

Lore-lite. I know enough FFXIV lore to play here comfortably, but I'm not super knowledgeable. I have made sure to run my concepts past people who are more knowledgeable than I, but please be gentle with my goof-ups.

Medical-heavy. I prefer to RP medical cases as realistically as possible, with both the body and mind. I use Google to research medical material. Given magic/aether healing is present in this world, I tend to view it more as a supplement than a catch-all. If your character tries to insta-heal mine, please don't be offended if I modify the intended effect to match the situation. Otherwise, no judgments given based on how you want to rp!

Once more... Communication is Key. My character sometimes deals with heavy, sensitive material, but I will always ask before springing something on you if you are feeling sensitive or if you have triggers. I always care about your OOC comfort before IC integrity. RP is for fun, and if it becomes something uncomfortable, it's not worth it.
