Appearance & Personality

Lynn'wo, in terms of build, is none too special. He's of slightly above average height with a slim frame. As any basic Miqo'te would, his body is toned with lean muscle more suited for running than fierce, one-on-one combat. Down his left arm (from his perspective) was a long, black tribal tattoo. He tends to wear loose fitting, comfortable garb when not on duty with the 81st. Almost all of his clothing adheres to his monochrome motif, complimenting his pale white hair. He was almost never seen without a hat or a collar/choker of some sorts. Though he hid nothing with his hat, his choker concealed a bright red scar that encircled his entire neck.
Lynn'wo, given his lifestyle, has developed a brash, cocky personality. He is very direct about his thoughts, typically showing no restraint in blurting out whatever he felt like despite it being appropriate or not. Though this suited him on his own, his eventual signup with the 81st forced him to take a long step back and make some serious changes. He is now a tad more calm and reserved when around those in his company, and even around those outside it. Though elements of his cockiness are still heavily present, he is now much better at speaking in a way that'll not get him punched.
His voice is a bit more on the flamboyant side, with sort of a "posh" accent to it. This was likely a facade, as in moments of high tension or anger, his voice would crack, reverting to a voice more typical of a former Ul'dahn street rat. He also seems to avoid the use of any strong language, and is known to verbally lash out on others for it.

Biography

Childhood
Lynn'wo was born around the year 1554 in the Black Shroud. His early childhood is a distant, lost memory, but records of his tribe are documented and readily available. His tribe wasn't too large, only consisting of seven families, though each was large, all three having seven children. Upon having the seventh child, it was forbidden to have any more - the tribe believed that seven children would bring good luck to all of them, especially to the last. Lynn'wo's tribe believed heavily in the guidance of the stars - they revered them above their typical patron deity, Oschon the Wanderer.
Children in his tribe were known to receive small tattoos of stars in a ceremony that has no real documented explanation. Lynn'wo has two of these tattoos on his right cheek, just below the eye. The tattoos are given with a special ink that glows slightly under moonlight, though this effect can only be seen from up close - after all, a tribe of hunters would be shooting themselves in the foot by doing such a thing given their preference for the darkness of night as a cover.
Though Lynn'wo's tribe hunted occasionally, they focused primarily on gathering fruits and vegetables. At age twelve, all children of the tribe were let out for the first time to assist each other in a gathering mission. The leaders would plant a small cache of scavenged candies, and the first group to find them got to keep every single one. This was also the day they were considered adults. They would all receive sleeve tattoos from their left shoulder to the elbow, though these tattoos were not too detailed - they were filled out with time depending on the child completing certain tasks, such as coordinating a group of gatherers on their own or finding any rare materials.
The culture of the tribe was an odd one. Children were held to very high standards at times - cursing was met with a slap and no supper, and the inability to hunt or be of any use to the tribe was met with long, almost cruel hours of training until the child was finally of use.
Young Adulthood
Around Lynn'wo turning thirteen his tribe began to fell apart. Internal disputes became more frequent. Eventually, families began to leave, Lynn'wo's being one of the first. As they traveled on to seek a new home in La Noscea, they were ambushed by a pack of jackals. In the chaos of the attack, Lynn'wo slipped away. Lost and without a home, he eventually joined a caravan to Ul'dah. He took up residence there, living mostly in the streets. It was then he began to learn a number of tricks and talents to help him scrape by, though at times he had to turn to stealing to eat. This eventually landed him in deep trouble as a mob formed, nearly causing a great riot around the year 1570. The mob had grown sick of theft and lawlessness in the city and began to take measures into their own hands. A large number of thieves and criminals were hung, Lynn'wo being one of them. Be it by the luck he was claimed to have at birth or by faulty engineering, he managed to escape after the rope snapped, but not until he'd been left with a nasty scar left by the noose around his neck.
Sometime around this, Lynn'wo was adopted by a middle-aged Lalafell couple. They taught him manners, dressed the boy up in fine clothing, and taught him valuable skills such as the ability to play piano and read. They treated him for what he was, however - a street rat in need of being domesticated. Sick of this, Lynn'wo packed his bags with their most valuable belongings and fled the home to return to the streets - now more cultured than before. Upon turning 20 years old, he managed to come upon information of a specific treasure - an Allagan amulet, said to be worth over seven million gil. It was located in La Noscea, however - but this didn't deter the boy. He began saving relentlessly, and three years later, managed to afford a one way airship ticket to Limsa Lominsa.
While wandering La Noscea in search of the treasure he wandered upon a group of folks at the beach. These people turned out to be a friendly bunch - an unnamed free company. Tired and sick of the dangerous life he'd been living, he latched onto them and began to tag along to monitor their activities. Inspired and with a new calling, he signed on to the free company, who he currently resides with at the present day.
Rookie in the 81st
Lynn'wo began assisting the 81st with his limited set of abilities. This did not bode well for others as his apparently useless nature destroyed his chances at respect for his peers. He was simply not prepared for such a life and it was quite obvious to those around him. Still, he was shown patience, and still, he remained determined, having never really given up as he worked tirelessly to adjust to a life other than the solitude he'd known for so many cycles.
One of his first major changes was ending his career as a thief. Now being able to afford to feed and clothe himself without crime, he simply had no reason to up until he caught wind of an old treasure that he'd never managed to find.
The keeper received an updated lead on the location of the amulet. With the help of his friends and mate, Misha Jinhri, he managed to find the location - a canyon in Middle La Noscea. The lockbox containing the treasure was rigged, however, by someone who'd also retrieved information on this lead - a defected Garlean hyur. Lynn'wo was nearly shot in the head, though due to his luck, it misfired and only took out a portion of his ear. The company mended him and brought him home, though this didn't discourage him. He managed to track the Garlean to Southern Thanalan and departed with his mate. They found the Garlean preparing to auction the treasure, and after a scuffle, it was revealed that he was trying to sell it to use the money as a bribe to get his family out of Garlemald. Sparrow cared little, however, desperate for the life he felt worthy for Misha and him, and nearly killed the man. The amulet had a self-destruct mechanism upon contact with blood, however, and as the keeper took hold of the treasure with bloodied hands, it disintegrated into a small pile of dust.
For a while, his thieving flame was reignited. He nearly pushed all in his life away as he distanced himself from all but his small circle of thieves in pursuit of great treasures. It didn't take long before the negative effects of this began to rear their ugly heads, and soon, he realized the folly of his ways and backed down. After all, it would only be a matter of time before every single bit of him was put to the test.
The Garlean Threat
Though Lynn'wo had been exposed to much in his time with the 81st, none of it really ever put every fiber of his being to the test like the Garleans did. They were an enemy different than the beastmen - they were like his own. It was always easy to distance himself from the monsters he'd killed, but this? For a good while he'd managed to assist his peers in their missions without killing. Even in instances where he'd been expected to, he never truly managed to hit anything with his arrows, having never truly worked up the nerve.
During an attack on a village, Lynn'wo was severely injured after being knocked aside when trying to assist Rahn'a with an injury. There was a large panic as the Garleans laid the village to waste with cannonfire. Had he of not been lucky, the keeper would surely be dead. Instead, he was left with nasty scars both physical and mental for a good while, rendering him unable to properly perform at the level he'd hoped to.
This became clear when he was captured during an attack on a castrum alongside Vesna and Rinha'li. During his captivity he was subjected to torture and beatings. During his capture he tried to get the guards to leave a fellow prisoner alone, using the guise of his illusions as a cover to slash at the man's face with a hidden blade. He was nearly shoved into one of their mysterious pods for this, yet that fate was avoided with the aid of Rinha'li and his clever words. He was eventually freed alongside Rin by his peers, yet Vesna was nowhere to be found.
To say this event had a largely negative effect on Lynn'wo's morale would be putting it lightly. The keeper had been broken by the Garleans - he sulked in his room for many moons, only opening his doors for the occasional pep-talk from his mate. Eventually he managed to bring himself along to a mission, yet it proved to be a big mistake as he broke down and experienced a panic attack in the field.
After some recovery and praise from his peers for what little bravery he displayed, he decided to go along to raid the final Castrum and rescue Vesna. It was there that he found the closure he needed after a great success. Using information he'd gathered during his containment he managed to put a stop to Vesna exploding with Onuma's help.
There were few events in the keeper's life that truly made him grow up like this. On the airship back, he finally cracked his first smile, and as a sense of relief washed over him, he knew that things were finally going to be okay.
Presently, his only true stress is finding starlight gifts that all his peers would truly enjoy!

Relations

Romantic Interest     Platonic Love      Sexual Interest      Good Standing      Neutral Standing      Poor Standing
Rah'na Lihzeh : Lynn'wo has been in a constant prank war with the fellow keeper boy for quite a while. It got a tad serious, resulting in Rah'na becoming fairly upset. Lynn'wo dislikes the boy for this, claiming on a consistent basis that "He can throw a punch, but stars, just try and watch him take one." This has recently changed as they've made up, and while they tend to poke fun at each other, they get along quite well now.
Kodaro Ba'rococo : Lynn'wo tends to avoid the seeker after a rather hostile run-in with him.
Rhesh'ir Zhwan : Though they've never interacted much on a personal basis, he finds Rhesh'ir to be an inspiring, level-headed captain and a role model in a sense. He envies his way with words and is slightly jealous of the man's charm.
Onuma Ahntifi : After the two got off to a rough start, Lynn'wo eventually warmed up to Onuma. He values and respects her as a fellow member of the 81st and finds a good boost to morale whenever he sees her fighting on the field.
Y'lyfriel Sikah : They've only interacted a few times, but each time Lynn'wo has come to respect her. She's one of the first people he genuinely tried to be polite around, even if his best efforts are equal to the worst of others. Her assistance healing him with little question after being shot with a rigged lockbox earned her a great deal of additional respect, in addition to her coming to his aid when she herself was injured. Of all the seniority in the 81st, she is probably the first he'd seek out.
Tahla'li Tayuun : Lynn'wo tends to get along with Tahla'li. He'd like to be better friends with the fellow keeper, but finds that they don't cross paths too often.
O'vitah Nunh : The older Seeker tends to keep him in line, but he manages to do so in a way that he respects. In a strange way, he almost enjoys set straight by the nunh. In just a few days the man was able to iron out a lot of Lynn'wo's worst flaws, something that amazes the keeper. He heavily believes that everyone around this man is lucky to have his guidance. Recently, a few comments he made has soured the keeper's view of the man.
Noor Falmah : Noor and Lynn'wo connected over some old literature he'd found, and right off the bat he was convinced that they had the potential to become good friends. They've planned an expedition for the near future to study some old Nymian ruins. Lynn'wo believes that with any luck, he might pick up more useful hobbies from her.
Misha Jinhri : Lynn'wo has become extremely attached to the seeker girl. He initially avoided giving a label to their relationship, though recent developments have driven the two closer together, and soon the keeper managed to get over his worry over such things. He'll now happily admit that they're in a relationship and very much in love. He worried that she'd drive him away with a disdain for thievery and a preference for monogamy, though her caring nature and loyalty to him has helped the man overlook this. He very well can see himself spending the rest of his life with Misha.
Emilienoix Bellegarde : If Lynn'wo was to name a single person in the company that he had genuine disdain for, it would be this man. Angered upon hearing the man refer to himself as a 'master thief', he verbally lashed out at the Elezen. He believes that the man is proud of something that nobody should be proud of - thievery, a necessary evil in Lynn'wo's eyes, one that nobody should brag about. He believes that considering thievery a hobby to be proud of diminishes his experiences as a young boy barely able to feed himself even after stealing with innocents, leaving him with an unreasonable, almost one-sided hatred. He even threatened to steal the man's coinpurse and hide it up his rear months later. Chill, Sparrow.
Tikka Swift : Tikka was one of Lynn'wo's first true loves since his youth. The two often worked together on many feats of thievery, and even had plans to one day buy a ship and become pirates. She would often aid him with performances. He ended up falling for another, however, and broke the poor girl's heart, ending the relationship before it ever really had a chance to flourish. To this day a mere glimpse of her face will send him into a small depression as he remembers the hurt he caused her. They still maintain a professional relationship, though how long that can last before personal feelings come into play is something that only time can tell.
Shoshopu Shopu : Lynn'wo respects Shoshopu a great deal, finding her to be one of his better friends in the 81st. She's one of the few that he can find genuinely trustworthy. The dome haircut has to go, though. Maybe he'll see to that... someday.
Ralamano Nulumano : Ralamano has always proven to have some bit of wisdom to share with Lynn'wo during his more tense moments, and for this, he respects the man a great deal. Being handy with paperwork helps, too.

Magic Tricks

Common
"The Vanishing Coin"
Lynn'wo manages to make a participant lose a coin - right into his own pocket. A similar, but counterfeit one, is found behind their ear. He has since retired this.
"The Sliced Apple"
Lynn'wo waves his cape across an apple to make it vanish. With another wave, it reappears, sliced evenly. This is easily accomplished by using the sharp tips of his gloves during the short moment that the apple is hidden. Prone to failure if not practiced actively and if the tips of the gloves end up dulling.
