The Watcher’s Eye

Ahze.png
About
Name: Ahzra’li Lhomi
Alias: Master Ander of Ishgard
Age: 22

Gender: Male
Race: Miqo'te
Clan: Keeper of the Moon

Orientation: Bisexual
Marital: Attached
Deity: Menphina

Nationality: Twelveswood
Occupation: Spymaster and Consul to the Obsidian Court
Alignment: Chaotic Neutral

Appearance

Ahzra'li is a relatively tall Miqo'te, standing at least a few ilms taller than many of his kin. His facial features border on being soft with the exception of his eyes, which remain sharp and keen. He, like many Miqo'te, bears distinct heterochromia, one eye being a pale gold and the other a pale silver. Raven black hair falls to his collar bone, though sometimes he prefers to tie it back to be out of his way. He has exceptionally long fangs, even for a Keeper. His build is akin to an acrobat, being made of lithe muscle and little else. Lithe though he may be, he does not lack in power, and can pull the string of a longbow with habitual ease. His skin is clear, having no visible scars whatsoever - A curious thing for a seasoned hunter.

Scars & Markings: A clan marking at his forehead, and nothing else. His skin is curiously smooth and unmarred in any way. His left ear, however, lacks the mobility and flexibility of his right, suggesting there was some injury to it at some point.

Voice: Deep, rumbling, as if speaking in a perpetual purr. Despite the sensuality in a voice like his, the effect is almost always lost due to his habit of speaking in a strict monotone.

Clothing: He prefers lightweight clothing that is easy to move around in. Traditional armor makes far too much noise for his liking. He is not nude as often these days, but he still prefers it when given the opportunity.

'Silent, contemplative, mysterious.'
Personality
A young, stoic Keeper of the Moon of nebulous origins, Ahzra’li claims himself little more than a roaming hunter. His love of the outdoors and getting lost within the wilderness in the darkest of nights is a secret to no one, as is the Keeper’s skill with a bow. His quiet, brooding nature is not uncommon for his kin, though every so often there is a glimpse of something more: His posture, his speech, the sharpness of his eyes… They all subtly suggest there is more to Ahzra’li than he says.

Marcus Feral ( ) - The Captain
Vado met Marcus through the mutual connection of a Miqo’te Vado was dating at the time. When Vado and the other Miqo’te ran into problems Marcus intervened to calm the situation down and it was during this time that Vado and Marcus shared their business objectives and parted ways agreeing to discuss working together further at a later time. That later time came and Vado was offered a permanent position under the employ of Marcus and his wife, Dovienya. Since that time Vado has been promoted within the Court. Marcus has slowly opened up to Vado and their relationship is developing slowly.
Dovienya Cuenn ( ) - The Mistress
Vado’s first impression of Dovienya was coloured by another individual being lead to believe that Dovienya was somehow an inherently ‘bad’ person. Vado suspected her for a long time of being a vampire, which became something of a joke for him. After being employed by her and her husband, Marcus, he strove to earn her approval as a loyal and trustworthy companion. As he completed work for the Court he came to see her as someone that was loyal and would do anything for those under her care, a view he still holds today. Their relationship is one of professionalism.
Vado Mercier ( ) - First True Friend
Ahzra’li worked with Vado after the attack on the Court at Naga’s wedding. Vado completed more work for Ahzra’li and the two began to spend more time together outside of work, getting to know one another and sharing each other’s problems. Over time Vado began to develop feelings for Ahzra’li, despite Ahzra’li being in a relationship. Ones that he could never act on. Vado cares deeply for them both however and has resolved himself to being there for either of them, willing to give his life for them, if need be.
Livia Crane () - The 'Could Be' Sister
Vado first met Livia during a social gathering with the Court. He drunkenly decided to try to remove her helmet simply because he didn’t like the way it looked. Livia knocked him unconscious for his efforts. Since then, Livia has probably been responsible the death of Vado more than anybody else he knows. Yet he finds a certain sincerity when speaking with her, abrupt as she can be at times. Livia reminds him of his older sisters, the little he can remember of them anyway.
Anaguma Kenesa ( ) - The Shadow
Vado has worked alongside Shadow on a few missions now but still knows every little about the man, despite being present for his wedding. He does know he is a trusted ally to the Court and he respects him as any of the other leaders.
Tempest Fey ( ) - The Celestial Mage
Tempest approached Vado to help him with a confidential task early on. Vado sought clarification regarding the task from her husband and failed to obtain it. Since then, Vado is not sure how to approach Tempest however he does find he biting wit and sarcasm extremely entertaining, even when it is aimed at him.
Nylora Ebonclaw ( ) - The Unexpected Daughter
Vado first met Nylora when she approached Talic at the Quicksand from her deceased parents naming him her ward. As they spent more time together Nylora’s true past came to the surface and Vado wanted to help her. He offered her the services that his medical teams could provide at the time and he gained some information to help her. Together with the aid of the Court and it’s members, they tried to help Nylora but each passing day seemed to make no difference. With the piling up of Vado’s workload he could no longer manage assisting Nylora alone. Asking Talic to take over, he then went back to focusing on his work. Even though Nylora tries still, their relationship is strained.
Xiang Kahkol ( ) - The Little Sister
Vado first met Xiang after waking from unconsciousness. Xiang helped Vado to find his Allagan devices, which he thought he’d lost. He enjoyed Xiang’s company initially and still does somewhat as the two would talk about their commonality in homosexuality however recently, after it took him some time to draw information out around an incident that resulted in his death, he is not sure of his relationship with her anymore.
Charlant Bastoix ( ) - The Theatrical Mage
Vado has completed several jobs with Charlant. He enjoys his witty banter and flowery way of speaking, even if he finds it inefficient and unnecessary. He is wary of the power that Charlant wields and does not understand it whatsoever, which makes him uneasy, yet Charlant has shown himself to be a friend of the Court’s so far and this has been enough for him to trust him to have his back in a fight.
Serick Aster ( ) - The Bouncer
Vado first met Serick when he was ejected from the Court’s premises after he was prematurely invited to attend a meeting at which he was not welcome. Serick was sent outside to guard Vado. Now that Vado works for the Court he has run into Serick a couple of times but their interaction has been minimal. He has fought with Serick and trusts him.
E’shiji Tia () - The Tiny Ninja
Vado has only recently begun working with E’shiji. They are still getting to know one another, however Vado appreciates E’shiji’s enthusiasm in regards to his work and admires his combat ability.
Charce Noirterel () - The Deceiver
Vado and Charce’s relationship has been under almost continual strain since Charce first joined and Vado criticized his fieldwork. Their relationship has never really mended from there and just as it appeared as though it might, Charce revealed that he was spying on Vado. It was also later revealed that Charce had negotiated a deal with an enemy of the Court and this had catastrophic consequences for all members of the Court. Vado was present when Charce was taken by Imperials and even considered shooting him at the time. However as long as he remains a member of the Court he has no choice but to work with him. Vado does not trust Charce at all.
Cemi Jinfeh () - The Minigun
Vado has spent very little time with Cemi but completed a few jobs with her. She supposedly has a minigun somewhere that she uses as a weapon. Her healing ability is also questionable after her healing caused Talic to vomit.
Talic Siegebreaker () - Giant Teddy Bear
Vado met Talic in the Quicksand. Talic was looking for work and after a few more meetings, Vado introduced Talic to the Court who offered him employment. Initially Vado had thought that Talic would serve to protect him from bullets however as they spent time together their feelings grew and Talic revealed his feelings to Vado. The two quickly decided to be in a relationship and all seemed to be going well until the pressures of work seemed to pile up on Vado and they seemed to fight more often than not.
Shona Hotgo () - The Insane Painter
Vado has only met Shona twice. The first time he rambled and Vado found it hard to keep up with his illogical way of speaking and mannerisms. Shona, an acquaintance of Charce’s, also took the opportunity to repeatedly remind him that Charce hated him, which Vado was unappreciative of. The second time Shona seemed a lot more like he was in control of his faculties if not still blunt to the point of rude. Between his erratic behaviour and mannerisms, Vado does not trust this little Au Ra.
Hylda Brood () - The Earth Witch
Hylda performed a ritual on Nylora, at Vado’s request, to help heal her from injuries she had sustained prior to joining the Court. Initially, Vado was angry because he believed the ritual did not work and in fact, harmed Nylora further. It was later that he came to realise that the ritual had indeed worked and helped to heal Nylora. Vado has not seen Hylda since the ritual to be able to thank her.
Daiyu Kahkol () - The Security Officer
Vado met Daiyu when the Mistress first suggested that the two work together on establishing a security system for the mansion they had just recently relocated to. Vado was quick to develop a respect for Daiyu’s professionalism, admiring her logic and judgement and her willingness to collaborate. Vado has also fought alongside Daiyu in the field and seen the punishment she can withstand. He would trust Daiyu to have his back in any situation.
J’veda Thiro () - The New Recruit
Vado knows next to nothing about J’veda apart from the fact that she is a new recruit to the Court.
Pandora Voss () - The Doctor
Vado has not spent a lot of time with Pandora but has faith in her abilities as a doctor and a physician. She is also a formidable combatant.
Cierra Borlaq () - The Divine Huntress
Vado was impressed with Cierra’s discipline from the moment he first watched her use her bow on a practice dummy. She is controlled and level headed, admirable given her tribal heritage, something else which drew Vado to her. Cierra is also able to commune with the stars through a deity that she prays to and has used this ability to locate a rare artifact, something that Vado hopes to help her retrieve. Vado has also requested that Cierra teach him to fight unarmed and the two have spent some time together. A friendship may be blooming if Vado can let himself see the girl behind all of her talents.
Cilia Blackthorn () - Unknown
Vado has spent almost no time getting to know Cilia despite having been on several missions with her. He doesn’t even know what her abilities are. He trusts her insofar as she works for the Court. As long as she stays on that side of the fence, she is an ally in his eyes.
A’lehsi Tia () - The Pirate Trader
Vado met A’lehsi during an even that he, Marcus and Ahzra’li were attending. It was upon meeting him that he found out that A’lehsi was the current partner of a former Miqo’te that Vado used to date. Vado prepared for the worst with this encounter but A’lehsi was truly lovely to Vado. Later A’lehsi approached Vado and Talic to discuss the idea of having dinner all together to try to resolve any issues between the four, namely Vado and the other Miqo’te. Vado was dubious that it would work but agreed. That dinner never came and Vado has not seen A’lehsi since.
Sephirah Eruafnor () - The Lost Boy
Vado’s first encounter with Sephirah entailed him attempting to claim Vado’s soul for the Void to make him a thrall. Vado was then tasked with the capture of Sephirah. While he failed to hunt him down, Sephirah did find Vado. Taking advantage of Sephirah’s failed magic spell, Vado captured and disarmed Sephirah, separating him from his scythe with the help of Charlant. During his short time in Vado’s capture, he and Sephirah had an opportunity to chat and it was here that Vado began to see Sephirah as less of an enemy and more like a lost boy who needed to be saved. How that’s going to happen yet, Vado’s not exactly sure.

◢ Common Rumors - Easily overheard. Use these freely!

"Can't say I know much about him. Comes around now and then to trade some hides and meat, keeps to himself. Bit dire if you ask me, but I'm not going to complain. Stuff he brings in is top-notch." - 'Trader, Bentbranch Meadows
"Fell into a bad crowd. But what do you expect from Keepers?"

◢ Uncommon Rumors - A little more difficult to hear. Use sparingly or ask first!

"Master Ander? Lady Gwenaelle is just convinced he intends to bed her later. He was giving her ‘the look’ at my husband’s party. A shame he’s always on the arm of Lady Cuenn. I wouldn’t mind him stalking me into the courtyard later." - Lady Fonchone of Ishgard

◢ Rare Rumors - Very rarely overheard. Please ask before using!

"I bid you to stay well away from that one. He comes in every few moons when there is a wound he can not mend on his own. These wounds be not from predator or misstep, but of a kind I had not laid eyes on since the Empire was upon our doorstep. He wears the garb well of his nomadic kin, but be not fooled. What he did to attract such enemies I know not, and I dare not speculate.- Senior Conjurer, Gridania

◢ Player Character Rumors - Feel free to add rumors of your own!

"Ahzra'li is composed and capable; two of the most important qualities I look for in a bodyguard. If it weren't for his other obligations, I would hire him on full time, and that is perhaps the greatest praise I can give a man of his standing."- Marcus Feral
"I would think to gain any ire from Ahzra'li would mean that individual is lower than scum. From what I understand, I tried to kill him one day and the next we started a lovely friendship. For Ahzra'li to not like someone, that person must be truly despicable." - Tempest Fey
I've met a lot of people in my short life so far but none would I have called a true friend before Ahzra'li. He's the most dependable and wise person I've met, even though he's younger than me." - Vado Mercier
