Short, even amongst her people, Shirayuri is generally missed when a crowded room is scanned - typically hidden behind the taller folk; a bright, silky head of long, red hair draping down her slender shoulders might catch an eye. Her large, emerald eyes and placid expression tend to make others see her as a kind and friendly person before even speaking to her and the elegant, graceful way she carries her lithe body about calls into question what it is she does for a living -- or for fun. The only unwelcoming things marring the woman’s otherwise gentle features are the pair of horns on each side of her head: curved to point forward, they end in dangerously sharp tips that Shirayuri tends to leave unprotected, as opposed to some of her kin who fashion metal thimbles over their horns.
The light scales of the Raen seem to complement her fair skin. Endowed as well with a generous bust for a woman her size, Shirayuri tends to keep herself covered and modest.
♢
Clothing: You would be hardpressed to find Shirayuri dressed loosely; typically donning dresses and skirts befitting her status, the Auri woman is always dressed modestly and fashionably. Long skirts and soft blouses; dresses that hug her form but leave everything to the imagination; and soft cloth and wool tops that fit comfortably on her frame, Shirayuri does take pride in her attire. A pair of glasses is always found on the bridge of her nose as well.
Calm . Quiet . Kind
Shirayuri sets out to be the embodiment of tranquility. She often seeks out opportunities to practice her altruism and meet new people to receive praise from. Driven to please from childhood, she can oftentimes be convinced to attend or aid things that she would not choose to if she’d come across it herself. Timid and meek, Shirayuri sometimes laughs at jokes she doesn’t find funny -- in fact, it is strange for her to find much humor in things. She seems much more preoccupied in discussing responsibilities or work to seek out jokes and tomfoolery, unless she has become incredibly close to you.

Daisuke Kinoshita - Ward - ✝ ⚖ ●
The middle brother of the Kinoshita siblings, he and Shirayuri found they had a lot in common. They enjoyed the gentler things in life and took many strolls along gardens and on the outer edges of the forests of Yanxia. Together, they attempted to find a path for Daisuke that wouldn’t involve combat but his mother, Yuki, forbade any other option. Given how close and similar Shirayuri and Daisuke were, they both spoke secrets to each other about themselves - it was how Shirayuri discovered Daisuke to be homosexual and eventually led herself to find out she was as well. He died in the razing of Doma, his final words to Shirayuri being: “Forget not that beautiful things die only so we know how beautiful they were.”
Gorou Kinoshita - Ward - ✝ ⚖ ●
The youngest and most stubborn of the three Kinoshita children, Shirayuri and him played often together in the fields. Not old enough to wield a real weapon, they often found sticks and flailed them wildly in the air while shouting. Gorou was hardheaded and wished to grow up faster in order to fight off the Garleans and eminent threats to the Doman border, despite Shirayuri’s constant disapproval. When the Garleans burned Doma to the ground, Shirayuri glimpsed the boy screaming for his mother before he was engulfed in the flames of their home.
Hiyo - Father - ⚯ ✝ ●
Shirayuri’s father was aloof, mostly keeping to his reading and meditations. When he spoke, it was often with a certain gravity that instantly caught Shirayuri’s attention, given how little the man voiced his thoughts. Most of her knowledge of her father was gleaned from his writings and the times they’d spent together learning and listening to the shamisen. He raised her well enough, disciplining her through action instead of word. During the twelve winter of Shirayuri’s life, he became ill and Shirayuri struggled to find him medication - medication that the Garleans refused to help her acquire due to their disagreements with some of Hiyo’s works. Combined with the depression over his wife’s death during childbirth and the illness, Hiyo passed in his sleep on a cold, windy night.
Momodi - Tavern Keeper - ⚖ ●
Over the few moons that Shirayuri stayed in Ul’dah, she grew somewhat jealous of the way Momodi carried herself. Given that she often had to pass information back between her and the Flames however, she grew to find a place in her heart to tolerate the Lalafell.
Senyro Kinoshita - Ward - ✝ ⚖ ●
The eldest of the three Kinoshita boys, Senyro was training to become a samurai like his father before him. He and Shirayuri were always very cordial with each other and grew to enjoy their company together before he was sent off into the greater Yanxia region for unknown reasons. News came back many years later that his supposed remains were found in the forests.
Yuki Kinoshita - Guardian - ✝ ⚖ ●
The wife of a prominent warrior in Doma, she took Shirayuri in after the girl’s father fell to illness and gave her a job as a servant. Regarding her with some contempt for her youth and growing beauty, Yuki set about making Shirayuri the hardest working and most punished servant within the household. After her husband died however, she softened and grew closer to the girl just a few years before the razing of Doma by the Garleans. She died on her sake distillery and gave Shirayuri the only other thing she managed to take with her - a ceremonial dress.
A Duskwight within Ul’dah, Shirayuri met her straight off the boat in Vesper Bay. Given that Amandine’s employer had asked for a more ‘exotic’ assistant, she immediately hired the Auri to help keep the records of Ul’dah orderly and acted as her immediate boss. She drove Shirayuri to work incredibly long bells and treated her with nothing but disrespect and disgust. When given the opportunity, Shirayuri was more than happy to politely turn in her resignation.
The Lord of the De’bayle House, Shirayuri regards him with fear and respect. Initially made to believe that there would be a problem given her heritage and his beliefs, she was pleasantly surprised when Armont took her inclusion into the Household well enough. Like with Carina, she tirelessly works to do what she can to settle her place with the De’bayles and hopes to earn his favor and trust for herself and her people.
A Knight, Shirayuri has no strong feelings towards the man. She respects his aptitude as a combatant and takes some interest in his writing as a creative soul. Given how similar he looks to someone from her past, she does tend to often wonder about the man and his background.
Shirayuri met Carina within the Quicksand and, after only a short time, befriended the woman after she was offered employment. Eager to leave behind her position in Ul’dah, she quickly resigned and accepted Carina’s offer. Now feeling indebted to the woman, she strives to impress and get to know her at every possible opportunity - she is also the only De’bayle within the Household she feels completely comfortable around and will most often gravitate towards her within a group setting.
Having now had a few run-ins with the jeweler of the De’bayles, Shirayuri considers Claire a friend, even if she does feel somewhat awkward around the Elezen. Frequently attempting to reach into the woman’s past and striking up conversation when possible, Shirayuri feels almost obligated to learn more about Claire while sculpting a relationship with her both in business and in friendship.
This humorous and forward man frightens Shirayuri in a different way than Armont. Knowing full well that many of his off-color comments are made in jest, she still finds it somewhat uncomfortable to hang about the man. Finding him informative and serious when he needs to be, Shirayuri respects Denz for his ability to speak freely but finds most of his jokes tasteless and sometimes even has trouble knowing when he is joking.
Though both awkward and nervous in their own ways, Shirayuri still finds Guillemont incredibly hard to be around alone, even more so than Denz. His standing as a Knight and devotion to the craft of combat also keep her on edge around him, though she has come to appreciate his curiosity about her culture over time and the almost endearing way he carries himself.
The child of Armont and Carina, Shirayuri finds her delightful (if a bit loud sometimes). Allowing her to be herself, Shirayuri shies from disciplining her, instead enjoying the time she has to play or teach if possible. A reminder of her time in Doma, Shirayuri will always brighten at the sight of the child and rush to her aid should she ever require it - perhaps a way of forgiving herself for the deaths of all the other children.

♦ "Shirayuri is like... a Magpie. Highly intelligent and graceful to a fault. A princess could only dream of being half as elegant Shirayuri has come to present herself. Perhaps if I am lucky, the Magpie will find solace in the behemoth and find it in their heart to bestow some of their gentle nature onto this brute." -Carina De'bayle
♦ "To be truthful, my heart sank when my wife told me she had hired an Au Ra into our House, but to my surprise Shirayuri presented herself far better than most whom I have greeted. While I am still warming up to the vast cultures and races of Eorzea, she has played a key role in my accepting of her own race. For that she has my respect... though I doubt she knows it... She is very timid and tense when around me." -Armont De'bayle
♦ I will play mature content and themes (violence, sexuality, drug / alcohol use) as long as they're logical in a plot-driven encounter. Temporary injury and incapacitation. Temporary imprisonment. Most walk-up encounters.
♦ Ask about long-term and/or permanent injury and disfigurement. Long-term captivity or imprisonment.
♦ I won't play permanent character death or rape plots except under extreme conditions.
