Character

General

Solelle has fought the Dravanian horde. She has fought in the Bloodsands; has been victorious, has been defeated. She has fought for money, for reputation, for guilt. For some time, she fought alone in the Black Shroud, hunting poachers and wanted beats. Repeated, nearly deadly encounters with a vicious Keeper of the Moon tribe has driven her from the region, though. She is not particularly confrontational, in spite of taking a great joy in combat; slow to smile, and also slow to anger without effective reason. The few people whom she names friend are known to receive odd trinkets from her, from time to time.

Appearance

Since beginning her life a tracker and hunter within the Black Shroud, her appearance has become as equally rugged as her life. Her hair is chopped short, and mostly just pushed off of her face. Her leather armor, while quite well cared for, has clearly seen a great deal of use; more of it has been mended, than not. Solelle is shorter than the average Elezen, but still lean, muscular, lanky. She bears numerous scars; one prominent across the center of her forehead, another crossing from her right shoulderblade, extending across her back to her left hip, and the healed remnants of four parallel slashes across her abdomen. She gained a new one only recently—a scar that begins at her collarbone and curls and twists six ilms downward.

Behaviour

Solelle is quiet and aloof, at first glance. As she is quite picky about her company, and chooses her battles quite specifically, she usually has little time to hear of others' struggles; somewhere between selfish, and merely isolated. She is quite emotional, but this side of her rarely boils to the surface outside of heated battle, or some other equally compelling scenario.

Combat

Solelle's primary proficiency was in axes and spears for a long while, representative of her time spent fighting in the standing forces of the Holy See. Since her departure, she has broadened her range of aptitudes to include bladed weapons--swords and knives--to her own fists. She has never toyed with the channeling of aether, and is not particular skilled with the use of any bow or long-range weapon (outside of a thrown spear.)

Tendencies

Though she is reclusive and prefers isolation to a great extent, she is not without generosity. Many of the trinkets and treasures she acquires from the wilds are simply given to friendly acquaintances unconditionally; occasionally, trinkets from marks she has killed will be distributed in the same way. Though she has spent a great deal of time living in the wilds of late, she manages to keep herself and her armor well-maintained and clean. When on a job or leve, she will often occupy the full amount of allotted time by her client. Solelle stalks and watches her targets meticulously, and always attempts to be absolute in her certainty of their guilt before taking any action. She has abandoned a handful of leves due to her own sense of caution.

Friends & Acquaintances

Ehrinn Thorn Solelle was impressed by this young woman from the first time she saw her in battle. Efficient, quiet, and determined, she gleaned many of the same qualities as herself, along with an air of quiet mystery. After several moons spent together in Ul’dah, they have become quite close; lovers that have come to rely on each other in an angry world. They continue to be drawn together, for want of the same thing from a realm that's loathe to grant any sense of lasting safety.
Rhesh'ir Zhwan Throughout the months that she served under Rhesh'ir's captaincy, Solelle only grew to respect him more. In spite of her greater years of experience, she has always been, and will continue to be, trusting in this Miqo'te's ability to lead the strange amalgamation of people that now follow him. She has only one regret in her time spent away from the 81st, and that was her failure to let Rhesh'ir know of her need for escape; her need to spend some time in a corner of the realm that wasn't angry.
Dawson Colwell Solelle met Dawson, briefly, when she met the rest of the Company in Coerthas. Upon her rejoining them on a longer-term basis, she has noticed the man staring at her a handful of times. After he mended her dislocated shoulder, she began to pay closer attention to the respect this Hyur commanded in the small Company. She's witnessed a dedication among his friends, as well as an eagerness on their part to learn from the Conjurer. Her fondness for him didn't fade in her time away from the 81st; she's been eager to see how he's changed during those brief months.
Kodaro Ba'rococo Solelle remembers the havoc this Seeker wreaked upon the Dravanians during their attack in Coerthas, and she was all too happy to meet him again, in La Noscea. They’ve spoken little over the past several moons, but the distance hasn’t made them any less friendly.
Onuma Ahntifi Solelle developed a keen respect for Onuma upon their first meeting, and when they met again, in Ul'dah, it was only reinforced. It's clear that she means the best for those around her, even if her own struggles sometimes serve as obstacles to stand by her friends. She maintains this respect, but has stayed pursuing any thoughts of affection. Onuma's emotional plate seems quite full, and the last thing that Sol seeks to involve herself in is complications of the heart.
Rah'na Lihzeh After briefly spotting this Keeper amid a caravan passing through the Twelveswood, she followed him a short ways. His appearance was remarkably familiar, a sense that only grew as she watched Rahn'a and Chesh'ir approach a grave in the southern wilds of the Black Shroud. Having confirmed that both are members of the Siroccovi tribe, Sol has committed herself to ensuring their safety, to Coerthas and elsewhere. Some element of her past keeps Rahn'a and Chesh'ir's safety at the front of her mind.

Enemies & Rivals

Erimmont Leguard Solelle first heard of this Ishgardian lancer while in her homeland. His reputation gained some spin after his exile, and when she found him again, as the Captain of the Immortal Flames' Silent Spears, she sought entry into the unit. After being firmly convinced that it was not her calling, the two brief acquaintances parted ways. She has not forgotten about the aura of justice exuded by this man, however.
Mijisaa Qisaa The apparent employer, along with Pipituu, of the caravan that Solelle has been following. She does not yet know what to make of Mijisaa; only that she seems quite aloof for one with such a significant investment in such a long journey. For now, she will remain wary and alert.
Lotan'to Jiub (Deceased) Lotan'to's death near the culmination of the 81st's campaign against Garlemald stabbed Solelle's soul more deeply than she has ever revealed to anyone. Though she knew him primarily as Onuma's mate, witnessing her lose her life-partner cut too close to Sol's own heart, her own loss. More than the violence of their campaign, this single incident was her primary motivation for taking an abrupt--and extended--leave of absence.
X'linwh Tia (Deceased) She knew the Miqo'te for a few days, and in that span witnessed his grisly demise. She enjoyed his exuberance, the life within him, even though she constantly thought it ill-placed for the environment he was in. Guilt hangs over her like a dampening shroud; she followed X'linwh into danger with the intent of bringing the foolish kit back form it, alive. Her efforts were wholly a failure.
Rumours
Easily Overheard Rumours
"She has put a great fear in many of our local poachers. Gods forfend, I am glad the elements and their woods clean up what she leaves behind; I should not care for the job." - Wood Wailer of the Southron Shroud
"An odd woman. Especially, perhaps, for a Wildwood with no claim within the Shroud. A spendthrift, too. Measure to guess she has a stash out in the woods, for as much gil as she earns that no one ever sees spent." - Gridanian Merchant
Somewhat Difficult To Overhear Rumours
“She is quite elusive, anymore, but when she took a residence inside Ul'dah, we often met for meals. She always brought something with her. A little bone carving, or some feathered ornamentation, or a gem, found in the wilds. I still have all of them, of course.” - Tefh'sae Viqqoh, Ul'dahn Syndicated Merchant
Rarely Overheard Rumours
"She put on one hell of a spectacle in the Sands, but threw a fight after two victories. Two! In a row! Mind that I had several thousand gil attached to this waste of skin. I should advise any and all not to put too much stock in her word." - Bloodsands Sponsor
Player Character Rumours
"She doesn't talk much, which is a welcome change from the Elezen that flap their mouths in Gridania. What surprises me more is that she passes a hing of care and respect to Miqo'te, in lieu of sneering. I like that. Means she's not stupid. And I haven't missed that gleam in her eye; she's a storm brewing under the calm." - Onuma Ahntifi

History/Timeline

Raised on the outskirts of Ishgarde, and trained to fight in the armies of the Holy See. She abruptly departed her role, her home, her family, and made a slow journey Southward, until she reached Ul'dah. From there, she began north, again, finally settling into Gridania a few moons ago; how long she intends to stay, or to what ends, is a mystery.
