The son of a Dunefolks Lalafell, Ixion Quintox, and a Plainsfolk Lalafell, Oboju Noboju, two experienced mages which contributed to Zanzan's natural talent for magic. Born and raised in La Noscea, he lived among a lively and diverse environment with people of far-reaching cultures which in turn fed into his curiosity of the world and his open and welcoming demeanor after his experience with individuals from different walks of life. His life was relatively normal though worry came to his family when he began to show an unstable connection to the aether which began his training in the art of magic as a way to control it. However, his family's life took a turn as the Calamity hit, resulting in the death of Oboju during his earlier years. Currently, he travels and explores the world, aiding any in search of need all the while taking up contracts to support himself and his family, and previously before, underneath the colors of the Immortal Flames. He hopes that one day he'd be able to settle down and find a new place for his family but currently, lives on the path of the road. However, he'll never stop in making Eorzea and the lands beyond a safe place for all. Appearance and Attributes A Lalafell of average height and wild, earthy brown hair. The most oddest of his features are his green and blue eyes which are shared yet reversed with his twin sister. He often wears a warm expression, meeting everyday with a smile and commonly refers to himself as "dashing". He commonly wears a large, weathered coat, which is interiorly lined with scales for added protection, hiding most of his physical features if his hat (or hats) hadn't accomplished that in the first place. Many may assume that the Lalafell is young, if his appearance did not confuse the non-popotos already, due to his lively demeanor though his deeper and smoother voice immediately betrays that initial thought. He speaks with a light La Noscean accent (common in seafaring folk) though usual his manner of speaking is closer to that of a traveling bard, possibly contributed by his love for story-telling and extensive book reading. Behavior An open, friendly, and welcoming individual, greeting most individuals like friends, even if they were total strangers, a trait he had adopted from being raised by his father. However, this does not mean his is easily swayed and is naturally perceptive to emotions and behaviors which may be contributed by his curious and observant nature. He approaches most jobs with overwhelming optimism, at least, openly, another trait passed by down his father. While he has child-like energy, he meets most occasions with maturity and respect. Though that isn't to say that the Lalafell isn't completely in control of his emotions. One may find him stubborn in his philosophies and does not hold back on his expression of emotions whether display of sorrow relating to uselessness or one of anger due to dishonesty shown by his peers. Combat Error creating thumbnail: File missing While Zanzan is naturally talented in Thaumaturgy, it doesn't matter much without more experience and study in the field. Due to his aetherial imbalance, he often attempts to stabilize his channeling with two scepters that could be attached by their hilts to form a staff. He also shows himself as an agile and quick individual though that may come from him being a Lalafell avoiding larger predators than actually being learned from close combat. One wouldn't expect a mage to experience episodes of aetherial sickness. However, it is a different case for Zanzan due to his aetherial imbalance and the instable connection he has to the aether. Extensive casting of spells may result in an aetherial burst of energy which, while may be potentially beneficial in defeating enemies, could infuse his body with more aether he could handle. In addition to this, he is also currently looking to train in close-quarters combat in hopes that it'll increase his physical fortitude and as a back up in the case that his magic fails him. The man was cheerful and out-going, meeting every passerby with a smile and friendly chat; one might say his hearty laugh can radiate an aura of warmth to nearby persons. However, Oboju was a mage, often diving into dangerous work as it comes with the nature of his job. In the end, some may say that it lead to his passing. As the Calamity struck all across La Noscea, he was rendered unable to rejoin his family after the destruction brought by Bahamut. "I miss you, Pa..." Not much is known about Ixi to the public aside from her name; not many even know of her family, and her experience as a mage. It can be said that this older lalafell, and mother of two children, is both stern and caring. After the Calamity, she immediately found work with several free companies in order to support Zanzan and Yanyan until they were mature enough to set off on their own path. Yanyan shares much with Zanzan such as a love for travel and adventure, a friendly and welcoming nature along with a natural talent for in channeling the aether. Yanyan demonstrates a better ability to channel a stable flow of aether unlike her brother whose magic is potentially more powerful but unstable. Not only has Zanzan been captivated by her appearance and culture, he has also been enjoying her company. They have grown rather close and he hopes that they may weave their own story together. She has peaked Zanzan's interest in learning more of the Au Ra. After Zanzan was dismissed from the Morbolvine's clan grounds at the time of Miah's death, Kiht was kind enough to allow the Lalafell to stay with her own clan during his visit to Gridania and the Shroud. They undertook several contracts together until Miah found it in herself to settle down and lead her clan as Matriarch of the Morbolvine Clan in which Zanzan assisted with. They met and spoke in passing during a stop at the Drunken Moogle, and recently, in the borders of Coerthas. The Highlander shared stories of his fight against the dragons and peaked Zanzan's interest to further explore to Coerthas and maybe even Dravania.
