Born to a very traditional tribe of seekers, people have been telling X'au what to do, where to go, how to to dress, how to live, for his whole life. And for his whole life, he's ignored them. Fiercely independent and determined, X'au is the type to make up his own decisions. Eyes Hair Skin Body Type Voice Golden, catlike, usually containing a hint of laughter, X'au's eyes are one of his more notable features. A shade or two lighter than his eyes and skin, it's usually worn long (Down to his mid back) and often styled in braids or a high ponytail. X'au's dusky skin almost perfectly matches his golden hair, and is dark and even toned enough to suggest his coloring is something he was born with, rather than gained from spending too much time under the sun. X'au's body is slender and lean, with just enough tracing of muscle to show he puts effort into it. Scratchy and sultry as if it started to deepen in purbety but didn't quite make it. In a modern setting one might describe his accent as Hispanic. Facial and Body Hair Scars Tattoos & Piercings Style The amount of hair on X'au's body varies, but usually a trail down his stomach and some on his chest. If he has facial hair, it's normally a light goatee Only two, long twin scars under each pectoral. They look surgical rather than wound inflicted. X'au has no tattoos to speak of. He does have his ears pierced, but wears the studs only rarely. While the style of X'au's clothes suggest he's not one for extravagance. Most of his clothing is actually made from fine fabrics and cloths. His preference for simplicity in clothing style is somewhat negated by his enjoyment of showing off his form. Most of his shirts bare his midriff, and he seems to love tight clothing. Sarcastic. Sultry. Vibrant. X’au can be a bit intense to those meeting him for the first time, but there is one thing that is almost always abundantly clear. This miqo’te has an absurd amount of confidence. Everything from the way he carries himself, to his sultry teasing smile speaks of a person who is completely at home in his own body. He’s outgoing, though friendly might not be the best word to describe him. X’au is quite snarky and sarcastic, and he’s prone to saying exactly what he thinks of someone- for good or ill. He’s plenty easy to connect to physically. He was a courtesan after all, but emotionally, he tends to keep his distance. If someone manages to peel back X’au’s initial layer of snark and sultriness, they’ll find, well yet another layer of salt and sultriness joined by anger and sometimes intense bitterness. However if they dig even deeper, they'll find he’s a lot softer and kinder than he lets on. He loves with his whole heart, he’s generous with his fortunes, and he’s very passionate in his way. There’s a layer of vulnerability to him that he does his very best to hide with as many cutting remarks as possible. Overall, X'au is like fire. Warm, passionate, and beautiful, but also intense, easy to burn yourself with, and can easy to snuff out when vulnerable. LIKES Books X'au is an avid reader. There are whole new worlds in the pages of a good book. Men- If asked his sexual preference, X'au will admit to heavily preferring them. Though the occasional woman has caught his eye. The Heat- He is from a desert after all. Anything Luxurious- Fancy getaways at a distant inn, lounging in the sun of Costa del Sol, fine dining and soft clothes. DISLIKES Pirates- They've done him dirty in the past and they make the worst clients. Large Crowds his confident demeanor doesn't crack. But he does get a lot less patience and a good deal more snarky when surrounded by too many people. Snow, or any weather remotely chilly- Once again, he's from the desert. The cold does bother him. Miqo'te Tribal Culture- He left for a reason. He'd rather avoid them entirely STRENGTHS Determined and ResilientEverything X'au has, he's worked for. He's a fighter, he won't back down from a fight or avoid a challenge. He approaches everything with a desire to excel, and often he does. Confident X'au has a pretty strong sense of self, and as such, he's pretty comfortable with who he is. While sometimes that confidence can overfill, it rarely wavers. GenerousAs someone who has struggled themselves, X'au likes to help out those in need. He'll welcome those without a place to stay into his home. Give gil to friends unable to make rent, ect. Intellect and Wit X'au's pretty smart and has no problem picking up most things quickly. He also has excellent knowledge retention, though details can sometimes get fuzzy. He sports a quick wit, and can often be heard saying something or teasing. WEAKNESSES Physical over Emotional Sex is easy. It’s been X’au’s job for most of his adult life. Emotional attachments however are harder. X’au isn’t the type to open up quickly or easily, and he tends to shy away from talking about feelings of being sentimental. He’s getting better at it, but it takes a while. Vain and Judgmental- Confidence is a good thing, but at times, X'au can pass confidence and jump right into vanity. He's slow to admit his own flaws and faults, and quick to point out those in others. He can also forget that sometimes, the strengths and advantages he has aren't always available to others. Quick Tongued and Sharp Tempered- X'au's wit isn't always to his advantage. He's got a flash temper and while he's not one to start throwing punches, he's bad for saying what's on his mind, when it hits as brutally as possible. Words can often be sharper than knives. Muscular Seeker Men- This counts. Sort of. Early Life When X’au was born, he was his father’s third child, and his mother’s second. His father, X’Jakkya was thrilled to welcome the golden eyed child, that looked so much like their mother. Born with the body of a female, X’au was often referred to by his mother X’Tallia Bansi as a “rebellious tomboy.” He spent most days following his older brother, X’laun around, learning to hunt, fight and capturing whatever strange bugs he could find. He often clashed with his eldest half sister X’ura, though their parents chalked it up to simple sibling rivalry. Overall, X’au’s childhood was a happy one, filled with long days in the hot desert sun. Teens While his childhood was relatively simple, X’au’s adolescent years were filled with strife. Finally realizing he wasn’t just a tomboy, but an actual male. His decision was met by backlash, partially from his mother, but mainly from his father. The more X’Jakkya tried to push against X’au’s truth, the more the miqo’te rebelled. It was small acts at first, cutting his hair, hunting with X’laun more, until eventually, X’au began to rebel more outright. After the calamity struck and Eorzea was plunged into chaos, X’au took his chance. Leaving his tribe he set off to Ul’dah, blending in with the many refugees to the city. Life on the streets were not nearly as simple as those in the desert. X’au was poor, dirty, ragged, and could barely function in a “civilized” society. He made his money stealing, doing odd jobs, and selling his body to whatever corrupt merchant or syndicate member would take a pretty miqo’te “girl.” It was one of the darkest periods of his life, made better only by the fact that he was able to scrounge and scrape, until eventually he had his own apartment and was picked up by a legitimate brothel when he came of age and began working as a courtesan. Adulthood X’au’s life as an adult has been a good deal more fortunate than his adolescence. While he was able to trade and work for cheap injection potions to correct his body towards the male he should’ve been, he’s since also been able to complete his desired top surgery and get his body where he wants it to be. No longer having to focus making sure his outside matches how he feels inside, has opened up the world to X'au. He began to study the world, learning the basics of arcana and healing, and how to manipulate aether. He's discovered a passion for books and the worlds they contain, as well as an interest in history and knowledge. X'au's also made a few friends including a kind tribal seeker that is now his fiance. He’s since retired from life as a courtesan, and currently works as a bartender for a large inn based in Shirogane. X’au’s life is at an interesting crossroads. He can more or less afford to do anything he wishes now, but he hasn’t quite figured out what he wants to do with all of it. He’s rather young though, so he has plenty of time to decide. X'au is not a fighter. He's never wanted to be a fighter and certainly he's not going to make any large impression in a fight. He is, however, very quick and quite agile. If faced with a fight, X'au is no stranger to the 'flight' response, and will employ it. There are a few exceptions however, namely fights born out of anger and harsh words. Though even then, his quick temper doesn't often translate to quick fist. And really, the likelihood of getting into a combat situation with X'au is rather low. X'au is capable of basic self defense if absolutely necessary, however and will employ it if backed into a corner. ABILITIES ♥ Quick and Agile- Between growing up hunting in the desert, and having to survive on the streets of Ul'dah. X'au's developed pretty decent reflexes, and a whole lot of speed. His basic tactic is to, dodge, weave, and get himself out a fight as quickly and gracefully as possible. ♥ Minor Aether Manipulation and Healing- X'au isn't a surgeon and he's definitely not going to be healing deep combat wounds. However he can manipulate aether to healer minor cuts, bruises, and wounds. He can also weild it offensively in a manner similar to an arcanist. ♥ Archery, Basic Hand-to-Hand- While no fighter, X'au is a better shot than he lets on. He's also been trained in the very basics of hand-to-hand combat and self defense. It's not enough to do major damage. But has helped to get him out of dangerous situations. WEAPONRY AND ARMOR ♥ Intellect. The mind is the greatest weapon no? ♥Bone Dagger A gift from his fiance, X'au keeps it if he needs it. Not that he can really use it. Eventually he hopes Zhat will help him learn. ♥Elm Longbow Simple, studded and accurate. His only real "weapon." ♥Light Leather Armor usually only worn when going on expeditions with his fiance, this armor is comfortable enough to allow him a full range of motion, but thick enough to keep him protected from basic attacks. FREE COMPANY AND BUSINESS Jechir D'Armo (✔) - Boss "I don't really know much about him. He runs the inn from the shadows and leads so- Well it doesn't matter what else he does, does it?" X'au likes Jechir, though he honestly doesn't know him well. The man seemed perfectly fine allow X'au to work for him as a bartender at one of his latest inns, and does a decent job of keeping his mercenaries in check. X'au respects him. FAMILY X'Jakkya Nunh (♥✖●) - Father "No I don't miss the bastard. No I don't want to talk about it." X'au's history with his father is a complicated one. While they were close when X'au was a child, X'au's realization about himself was met with hatred and prejudice from X'Jakkya. The inability for X'Jakkya to see through his son's eyes eventually drove X'au away. When his father was killed and displaced as Nunh, X'au didn't bother going to the funeral. X'laun Tia (♥♥) - Older Brother "X'laun was cool. He'd let me come hunting, he showed me how to shoot, basic fights... He always saw me as a brother, even when no one else did." X'Laun was X'au's bestfriend as a child. They did everything together. They explored, hunted, fought, laughed. X'laun kept his brother safe and happy. X'au credits his elder brother for most of who he is now. It was X'laun who helped X'au escape from his tribe, and X'laun who found X'au a surgeon who could alter his chest. The two keep in close contact, but don't often see each as both are constantly busy with their own lives. X'Tallia Bansi (♥) - Mother "Some say I look like her. I don't know, she's beautiful. I care about her but... Well let's not go there." X'au's feelings about his mother are complicated. He loves her he knows that. While she tried to bridge the gap between him and X'Jakkya she didn't often treated X'au as if the problems between the two were all his fault. He keeps his distance now. But they talk from time to time. She does often ask if he's found a mate. Or if he's at least looking. X'au always manages to avoid the question and of course, mentioning N'zhat. ROMANTIC 'N'zhat Tia (♥) - Fiance "Fun fact,I love Zhat more than I love well anyone. Probably anything. Don't tell him though. It might go to his head." Originally, Zhat was only supposed to a friend. A best friend, but a friend nonetheless. Somehow over the years of their friendship, they become more. X'au would do anything for him, and one of the few times he's inclined to gush, usually is triggered when asking "So how is Zhat." Ganbaatar Mol (♥) - Sort of Mate "Gan is... damn I don't know how to explain it. I like him alright? It's different than Zhat but I enjoy that." X'au has a lot of complicated feelings where Gan is concerned. On one hand, he knows he loves him. At the same time, he doesn't love him nearly as much as he does Zhat. While there are a lot of questions where his relationship with Ganbaatar is concerned, he's not ready to ask himself them for now. He's taking it a day at a time, and enjoying what they have. FRIENDS AND ALLIES Y'zareen Serhan (♦) - Friend "She's beautiful and vibrant and honestly kind of perfect? Twelve I hope she likes me." X'au tends to avoid other tribal seekers but when he met Y'zareen through Gan, all he could think about was how interesting, beautiful and kind, she was. While she has a frustrating habit of leaving him in slightly awkward and embarassing situations. He's come to genuinely look forward to every interaction he gets with her. He also enjoys teasing Gan with her. Aezh'li Kohko (♦) - Friend "My favorite thing about Aezh is if you complain about his shirt long enough, you can get him out of it." X'au will claim that his interest in Aezh is only physical. In reality, he actually considers the keeper a pretty decent friend. He finds Aezh to be refreshingly fun, though recent meetings have him worried something is weighing Aezh down. While he'd never admit it- he does want to help. C'xhori Fisher (♦) - Friend (Baby-sittee) "He once called himself the smartest man from Aleport and now I'm really worried for Aleport." X'au likes C'xhori, but he's a bit- well more than a bit- worried about him. The half seeker doesn't seem to be entirely there mentally, and X'au is constantly worried that X'xhori is going to get himself killed. Or suffer more brain damage. The guy really can't take more hits to the head. Cyneburg Hayle (♦) - Friend "Gan loves her, and she can kick my ass. Basically she's awesome." X'au doesn't know Hayle very well. He thinks she's interesting and definitely has a good deal of respect for her. Not to mention she's friendly! Over all though, he doesn't know her personally. Trans is not X'au's identity- It's actually a small part of it. While it heavily shaped his younger years, X'au is far more than someone intially born with the wrong parts. In addition it's not obvious that he's trans. He's just a regular guy who happens to be a bit different between the legs. X'au is icly interesting in Astrology- I'll slowly be having him learn and train in the basics of Sharlayan Astrology, so those versed in it will instantly have his attention. I'm open to a lot! Really just come at me. Long term story? A night with the prettiest golden catte? Something in between? I can get a bit busy irl, but I'm always open to discussing new ideas.
