Orenji Kharn is a kind-hearted miqo'te born of the Twelveswood. A professional adventurer, he relies on experience as both a Lancer and a Dark Knight, and may freely switch between either during his journeys. The son of a famed pirate and aspiring tea-maker, Orenji struck out at a very young age to create his own legacy to become a hero of legend in inspiration of the world renowned Warrior of Light.

Though circumstances may have taken him on interesting turns, hardening the boy as time passes, Orenji has found himself as the Captain of a growing band of Sky Pirates known as the Rising Claws. With his impeccable knowledge of engineering and unmatchable skill with a sword, he dares any and all to challenge him and his crew, so that they may forever grow and ascend to the skies that they so righteously proclaim as theirs. After all, who would challenge a crew that can so readily make such a radical claim? An avid dreamer, none question his unwavering heart and sense for adventure.

A young, lean miqo'te, with short, messy black hair and orange eyes. Orenji is a calm, sometimes sarcastic young man, driven by his dream of following his hero's footsteps of becoming a famous leader and shunning those that tell him otherwise. He aspires very much to be a leader that people deserve and to be as free as the birds in the sky, using both the cunning and charm inherited from his parents to rally those to his cause. A young man with a kind heart, he discriminates against nobody for who they are, accepting all into his folds who prove themselves worthy of his trust.

However, one would be a fool to mistake his kindness for weakness. This young man is always thinking and waiting for the opportunity in which an enemy will strike him. Described as a devil who follows his contract to the letter, Orenji is a man heavily bound by his own word, be it honorable or nay. A promise is an oath, and an oath is his life. He pities the fool that would cross him, ready to take their lives in the protection of his family and all he stands for or risk falling deeper into the abyss, penance for the wages of mercy.

As of recent events, he sports a pale blue right eye while bedecked by a myriad of scars.

Likes ■ Orange Juice. Perhaps due to his naivety or simple penchant for not drinking alcohol, he is quite the addict to the juice of his namesake. ■ Airships. This boy loves to fly almost as much as he loves to tinker. As an aspiring Sky Captain, one can never be too short of this vehicle for his fleet. ■ Combat. While not quick to admit it, instincts tell this knight to 'rage on'. He is an avid lover for the thrill of battle. ■ Baked Goods. Orenji has quite the sweet tooth, and even moreso if it comes in the form of a delicious tasty pastry. ■ Secret Favoring: Mint Lassi. A favored treat for his parents to make, this drink is a quick way into Orenji's heart as he travels down the nice flavors of memory lane.

Dislikes ■ Prejudice. Never judge a book by it's cover. Orenji accepts any and all into his crew, and has been the victim of being poorly judged many a time. ■ Fear: Voidsent. Heavily related to his past, he has a crippling of the void and its denizens. Inspired by the loss of his first comrades, he seeks never again to experience such horrors with his newfound family. ■ Disrespect. Orenji is not too fond of those that don't show their peers respect, unless they're truly undeserving of it. ■ Pessimists. "You can do anything you set your mind to. No? Then you can watch us try." — Orenji Kharn. ■ Cowardice. He detests those that have no self-respect, and hates cowards even moreso. If you're to pick a fight with a Dreadwyrm, stand ready in its maw or be devoured.

Hobbies ■ Tinkering. Having learned much from his mother, an amazing engineer, Orenji often finds himself at a table, constantly upgrading the augments of his shipmates and practicing his metalworking. ■ Listening. Orenji is a very analytical person, ears always open to his surroundings so he may make unbiased judgements when he needs to. However, it also helps him relax to hear the stories and lives of all those around him. ■ Adventuring. A popular client with the Adventurer's guild, Orenji often takes up missions to further his own skill with a sword and get a broader sense of the world around him. ■ Sparring. A lover of combat and martial skill, Orenji often enjoys watching or partaking of spars so that he may learn and truly connect with the people around him. A frequent participant of the Grindstone and two-time Grindstone Champion, he hopes to hone his skill and rack up many more wins under his belt. ■ Leading. Many often joke that he is married to his duty and worry for his health due to all the stress he puts on himself on a daily basis, he actually finds solving problems as a soothing and relaxing past time. He also enjoys very much being able to direct people.

Allies ♥ Romance – ♥ Attraction –● Friendly – Sayuri Oinari ♥ - Head Elder of the Kitsune Clan; The Flame A mysterious and foreboding woman that he met in the frozen wastes of Coerthas. He wasn't so sure about this doman at first until they conversed, quickly sparking a friendship between the two. Over time, he grew to learn more about the plight of her and her people, taking up a venture similar to his own father before him in order to help her and her ilk to rebuild. The two have warmed up to eachother quite famously, with her understanding his stress as a leader even better than himself at times. She always speaks her mind and commands the respect of her peers rather well, making a wonderful addition to his crew and a permanent place within Orenji's heart. He wouldn't readily admit this to his family, but he always had a crush on the girl. His Hikari (Light) as he calls her. Nazyl Tharazyl ● - Sky Master of the Rising Claws; The Onion An old friend of his parents and his Master back home, Orenji found the lalafell by fate in Coerthas after a challenge was brought about for his namesake, "The Dreadwyrm." His inspiration for becoming a hero, Nazyl was welcomed with open arms as one of the leaders of his jumbled crew of aerial pirates, offering a unique light of purity to the chaotic minds of the Claws. An Onion Knight (otherwise known as Knight of Knowing) in training much like he is, the two have become rather close with one another, completing the other's given power and expertise. Orenji considers him one of his close confidants and brother to his own heart. N'thala Mystholm ● - Head Elder of the Orochi Clan; The Serpent Having met him one fateful eve in the frozen wastes of Coerthas, Orenji initially disliked the apparently egotistical doman. Seeing him as an enemy of Sayuri and source of her distress, he was content to lay arms upon the man until events brought them closer as brothers in arms. He has earned his trust and respect, and one day hopes to test his might as a dragoon with N'thala's might as a lancer. After all, it isn't he who has the "poor" form. Jenivieve Ravendale ● - Informant of the Rising Claws; The Exiled A faithfully obedient sister of the Claws, he met her in the frozen wastes of Coerthas as a rather mature and intriguing Ishgardian. Regaled by her tale of being outted as a heretic, he accepted her within his family without a second thought. Her skill at gathering information and conjuring results has proven impeccable, finding her a useful asset of his ilk. Short Stomper ● - Servant of the Kharn Family; The Stomper A loyal and mysterious keeper of the Kharns since their time within the Twelveswood, this foreboding Roegadyn wields a mighty book of legend in which he bludgeons poor souls to the void with its powerful pages. He serves as Orenji's personal guard. Nathaniel Graves ● - Loyal Guard of the Ravenstar; Talkative Engineer An old friend of his parents whom he met one fateful night in Coerthas, he's proven to be a powerful friend whose already risked life and limb for the boy, expecting nothing in return. Yuki Kurenai ♥ - Hostess of the Gilded Rose; Metalsmith Wonder A rather energetic girl that he met by chance thanks to connections with Sayuri, the mechanical-metalsmithing-engineer wonder has found a rather interesting place in Orenji's heart. Valuing her skill with a wrench and advice while working, she appeals to the better nature of his being a Sky Pirate. Julius Bennett ● - Shield Bearer of the Charlemagne Knights; The White Knight A curious hyur that quickly found his way into the Claws' good graces through compassion for their cause and being a neighbor during their stay in Coerthas. While their friendship has been rocky, Orenji considers this man a close brother and rather interesting paradigm of his own views on Knights and their duty. While Kharn's gaze remains on the sky, Julius' has proven to be rather down to earth. His advice sound and for the best interest of Orenji's life as a whole, he is not as reckless as the boy, and thus serves as a necessary tactician for the goals of these chaotic sky pirates. He sees him as the white to his black, the knight that stands unabridged on his chess board of life, very much considering him his rival. Shirono Usagima ● - Head Elder of the Usagi Clan; The Rabbit An observant female that's all but one of his very own Claws, Orenji's relationship with her is a rather curious one. He respects her as a sister, and knows she's drifted over multiple tracks onto the rails of his very own brother, Vyse's heart. She's proven to be extremely reliable and has saved the lives of his Claws many times, and yet she's stubborn to a fault that she's not anything significant. He worries he may have to start paying her for her services and aid.

Orenji quickly learned the dreams and motivation of this boy to see the world and fly one day in the sky. Swearing to eachother an oath as best friends, Orenji vowed to make this man's dreams come true, so that he may stand beside him as his Captain. The first true sky pirate of Kharn's crew of black sheep. He is Orenji's adopted brother. X'nahare Kharn ● - Sworn Lion of the Rising Claws; Nahare Rahz Happily married and his aunt where he comes from; this stubborn-headed miqo'te was found in the desert wastes of Thanalan where Orenji sought to form his crew. Despite what he knew about her, she's proven to be fiercely loyal and extremely caring, taking up a motherly role for the boy and looking after him for his reckless abandon of his own life. She serves apart his sky pirate crew dutifully and isn't afraid to throw everyone else's lives away to protect what's closest to her. Nataru Rahz ● - Hound of the Rising Claws; The Wyvern One of the fastest people he knows and only rival to that of his father. The sister of Nahare, this miqo'te comes with a mean roundhouse and severe distaste for swearing. His aunt and one of his most loyal of pirates, Orenji found her in Thanalan where through sheer might and will, he recruited her so that she may finish her teachings and serve a greater purpose for defeating the darkness of Eorzea. Flynt Reddard ● - Sky Master of the Rising Claws; The Hyena Annoyingly rambunctious and infamously charismatic. This man was the first to serve Orenji's most powerful asset: Gil, and the third to serve him under his most powerful form of loyalty: Family. Having known him as his uncle for over a decade of his life, Orenji has a genuine platonic love for the hyur who serves somewhat loyally as his right-hand man. He plays a strong fatherly role for the boy despite being a rather horrendously bad influence upon the kit's life. Memith Ganajai ● - Leader of the Hivemind; The Fury His adopted younger sister and probably one of the closest companions Orenji's ever had. Bound to her word much akin to himself, he took her in at the Hyena's behest and quickly learned the true meaning of loyalty from this girl. Through awful circumstance, his hand was forced to cast her from his crew's gaze despite his own feelings. He promised to save this woman and refuses to accept that she's beyond doing so, proving to himself and all those around him that he will never let go of a sister. A claw in her own right, Orenji loves this stubborn girl and will always have his protective gaze over her no matter how trustworthy she or her allies are. Surilian Kharn ● - Golden Fang of the Twin Serpents; Maman His beloved mother and a famous pirate captain. He sorely misses her and her cooking, wondering if she'll be upset should he ever return home. Akama Kharn ● - Red Shadow of the Twin Serpents; Dadda His father and first tutor, Orenji holds severe distaste for the always sunny man. He hopes to step out of this hero's shadow and form his own legacy where he wont be compared to the man of his namesake. Zoeymi Kharn ● - The Kharn Prodigy; Titan-Face Orenji hates to love and loves to hate his older sister. Tired of being in her shadow as the younger of the two, he had ran away from home to create his own story as a hero to hopefully gain his dad's favor. While he wouldn't readily admit this, he misses his beloved sister extremely and longs to have the old days of their bickering returned. Qubh'li Kharn ● - Crimson Devil of the Twin Serpents; The Creeper His terrifyingly powerful mage of an uncle, Orenji's never particularly been brave around the man. Finding his own will faltering often as the older male teases the boy much to his parents' dismay. Back home, he is happily married to Nahare and only somewhat of an awful influence. His power always inspiring Orenji to one day take up magic on his path of becoming an Onion Knight. It's hard to hate a man whose words often contradict the strife he causes, perhaps even intentionally so. He finds him extremely humorous and rather reliable where coin is considered. This silver-tongued miqo'te does have one loyalty that Orenji trusts: Gil. He can do nothing to protect this foolish man from a painful death at the hands of his loved ones, but Orenji always wonders how good of a Claw Ki might potentially make. He was their brand of insanity, after all.
