Character Basics

Mayu Cloudwalker (pronounced Ma-you), is a woman who had escaped from Doma. However, her escape came before the Garleans razed the country. She doesn't often talk about what caused her to leave but the truth is that she was not comfortable with the status she had been given. Born to a wealthy fisherman, her father had died when she was 14. Her mother not having much of a way to retain status remarried to a Garlean soldier who was stationed in the town they lived in. In turn, Mayu was betrothed to a Garlean boy her age in Garlemald that she had never met and this is what caused her escape two years prior to now. She snuck onto a pirate's ship and was unaware of the implications until she was put to work and learned to take care of herself. She often abused on this ship until Black Sun raided it and she was taken captive. Within Limsa she was able to plead her case as being a captive to the pirates herself and the Captain, Matthias Silverstar decided to take her in as a ward only 6 months ago. Now she is a student under the Silverstar family and is taken care of by them and is learning more and more about Eorzea now that they are certain that her mother and the pirates aren't looking for her anymore but always exercises caution.

Mayu is a little on the short side but for her whole life she was told that is what was feminine. Keep a decent build, strong but petite. That is what will please a man in the end. With a rounded face and big eyes that watch the world with awe filled wonder, she is seen childish in many aspects even if that is not the case. Sporting long, blonde hair that she often has tied back to keep from falling into her face, the purpose is defeated by the long bangs that brush over her painfully meticulous eyebrows. Blue eyes look out at the world, a light pale color and the limbal ring that is often normal to her people gives off a soft glow from the aether that fills the prodigal girl.

Over the years of being in the sun she has gained a comfortably tan complexion that stands out well against the whitened scales on her body. Scales that she takes caution to keep oiled from flaking or itching. Her horns curve comfortably back and cause little issues for her sleeping even if she does get the questions often of how does she sleep with them. Her response often mentioning squishy pillows. Often the horns are decorated with metal pieces that reflect in silver for her own delight. Her tail is slightly spiked but one will find that the spines are not sharp at all but rounded and even to the touch it is smooth as she is careful about keeping it from irritation with the proximity to fabrics. You can tell by the way she cares for herself that she came from an upper class society and that the things she does for beauty are second nature to her

Personality

At first impression the girl is seen to be childish and that is not entirely far from the truth nor is it entirely true. She takes an excited notion about the world around her and does get quite happy over the little things. There isn't much that doesn't please her and thus she is quite easy to make happy for the most part. However, when she speaks some of that may be taken away. She speaks much like a teacher world and most of the time it is about the observations of aether. The girl on a natural level can see the ebb and flow of the lifestream of the world and while often it is limited to people or could pull at one's life should they use it to see, it does not affect her own. She is very different from most who produce a lot of aether as she is someone who takes in a lot and it is expelled through this ability. However, because of this condition she often will speak on an intellects standards about the world around her. Making note of the flow of others, informing others about how one thing affects another and the outcomes. But that is how she has always been, at least when she understood what she was seeing. She is quick to get around talking about her own past, telling others that's a story for another time. She feels that revealing where she is from and the life she's lead could easily get others to find her so she doesn't want to bring it up. She would rather know more about you than to have you know about her! Terrible at small talk but happy with comfortable silences, she can be a strange girl all around. That cheerful personality of hers can be infectious and she likes to see others smile. However, she does have a darker side to her. One that people just don't see.

She also married a Garlean man after her husband's death at sea. ♥ Idehen Cloudwalker - Deceased. The father of Mayu. He was a fisherman who often doted on his daughter, encouraging her natural abilities when her mother had went against them. It wouldn't be unusual for him to have even brought her magitek to work on because of her interests. However, he died when his ship got caught between those who were warring and he died at sea. She has missed her father since his death. ● Althena Locke ((Silverstar)) - An adopted mother to Mayu since she has come to Eorzea. She's been teaching her what she can and is referred to as one of Mayu's Masters. ● Matthias Silverstar - An adopted father to Mayu since she has come to Eorzea. He has taken her under his wing in the magic field and has been happy to guide the young woman. She appreciates his guidance and has gotten use to his eccentric antics. ● Emmaline Silverstar - The eldest daughter of Matthias. An aspect of Wind herself and a basic elemental and/or primal. She finds Emmaline to be interesting. ● Alexander Silverstar - The eldest son of Matthias. She doesn't see him much since he has taken charge of the Black Sun but she always makes sure he has a warm welcome with Althena. ● Lithilina Silverstar - The youngest daughter of Matthias and Althena. She is but a year old and often Mayu gets stuck babysitting her but she doesn't mind it. She finds the child intriguing with her own natural affinity for magic. ● Jijiko Ririko - The brother of Althena. So in a sense her uncle. She claims he makes the best cookies in the world. ◢ Friends ● Aeirra Rhua - Someone she works with but is not very familiar with. She has realized she's an energetic Miqo'te but other than that she hasn't really gotten to know her. She has seen that the woman does have quite the temper and is happy it hasn't been directed at her. ● Altansarnai Malaguld - This peculiar Au Ra has gotten her attention from standing away from a crowd and so she decided to say hi. He doesn't seem to be much for words but when he does speak it is partially in another language and she has become fascinated by his speech patterns, often asking him what each thing means. It is easy to see he is not as well versed in Eorzea and though she isn't entirely she wants to help him along should he ask for it. She can feel a presence in him, but is not quite sure what it is yet. ● Ausaux Grimand - The Elezen caught her attention in the Quicksand because his aether flow interested her. Then once she started talking to him, the way he spoke interested her. Then of course she had to introduce him to friends. She finds him interesting and wants to learn more about his style of magic and more. ● Autumn Moore - They get along quite easily but their interests seem to be fairly different. But then again, Mayu has yet to show any genuine interest in boys like Autumn has. She finds the girl to be pleasant and wants to be her friend. What kind of world is it where you don't have friends your age anyway? So far she hasn't gotten to see much of her but she has been told to keep an eye out for her in case the girl gets in any trouble. ● Blazerro Draken - The male has taken a protective role over her from what she has seen and she assumes it is because of her portrayed age in most situations. Her own interest first stemmed from the metal arm he has and now they eye! She wishes to study these magitek bits and learn more about them. However, the Keeper male tends to have a grumpy attitude or just wish to stay out of anything that could remotely be fun so she finds him a bit of a downer when she's wanting to stir up trouble. ● Krysaria Venmortis - Someone she has only recently just met. But she has a warm presence she finds herself attracted to like a moth to a flame. ♥ Lucretia Ebongrave - A childhood friend and someone she thought she'd never see again. Lulu (as she has always fondly called her) is a half Garlean and half Doman woman who is currently under the employ of the Garlean military. She was sent into Eorzea to actually retrieve Mayu but after a reveal that the leverage they had against her no longer existed she has since switched sides. Now, they are reunited and are willing to take on the entire Empire to make sure they aren't separated again. ● Nahare Mergrey - She is not sure entirely how she feels about this woman, considering that she had made her master almost explode. But otherwise she has gotten encouragement from the woman and she finds her company pleasant. She feels that she can ask the woman's questions and not be judged for it. ● ● Nicholas Holt - A friend of hers that she met while he held a female form. Despite this she treats him as he wishes to be treated and has attempted to find a way to fix his condition and break the spell he is under. She considers him a close friend however this has changed in the most recent days as he had confessed his love for her. This proved to be awkward as she does not reciprocate these feelings. Their relationship becoming more strained that the day after she was attacked by a powerful mage and he cowered in a corner so she believes his confession to be completely false. After all, he promised he'd protect her. ● Reiner Dorn - The leader of the Runestone and someone that she finds interesting in his magic prowess. She often attends his tournament. ● Toff Vaughnn - Someone that is within the free company that she finds amusing to watch. With his temper and out right outspoken attitude she can't help but feel as if he is a good person. She doesn't mind being around him and he has even gotten her to sing once before! ● Togy Brandmakt - Mr. Mask. Or at least, that is what everyone knows him as. Though she knows his true name from searching through things she shouldn't be and also tasked with keeping an eye on him when she's in his presence. She finds him to be a teacher of sorts because of his different use of aether and she enjoys his company since he allows her to be herself without any hindrance or expediencies. She is quick to defend him should some speak ill of him in her presence but not when he is not around but when he is able to defend himself, he is on his own since he can defend himself (unless there are circumstances involved). ● T'shina Vashka - Her boss and someone she finds quite frightening. Their relationship is mostly professional. ● U'zhan Ashblood - A Miqo'te she knows is part of her boss's clan. She finds that he is good for getting answers when she is curious about the things around her. Though he seems to have a grumpy outside he may very well be pretty kind. ● Vahn Kasch - She finds him to be very pleasant company despite his grumpy demeanor but he has been overall helpful to her. She feels that if she went to him for help he'd do so. He has given her plenty of advice in her time knowing him and considers him much like a big brother. She knows that he will rescue her when she needs it. ● Zero Dawnrose - Her first impression of the man is that he is fairly creepy, following her and Mr. Mask when they were trying to speak privately and in her opinion, quite terribly. However, she has been told of his carefree and concerned personality and has been assured by the scary lady he isn't that much of a threat. Just a minor one. And maybe a headache. She has turned to him for comfort when she feels uncomfortable in a situation. ◢ Enemies ● Tadeas Donas - The man who married her mother after her father died. A Garlean military man. He was fairly strict with her and disallowed her use of magic and even tampering with magitek as it wasn't lady like. He is what truly pushed her to run away. ● Akoni Xenon - The man she was betrothed to. Though she has never met him, she is aware the Garlean man is looking for her to make sure she honors their betrothal. ◢ Masks ((Keep in mind, you have to be figure out she is Curiosity. These are Curiosity and Mayu's perspective on the Mask group)) ● Mr. Mask - The leader of the group. She is most comfortable in his presence. As Curiosity she often stands behind him as she does not take the appearance of a combatant and more of a healing class. ● Rage - She has seen Rage the most and has figured he is Mr. Mask's right hand. She knows she can go to him if she needs to. ● Wit - During her times of stress it is known that he has comforted her and helped her ease down when needed by helping her talk logically. She finds his sarcasm and smart ass remarks amusing. ● Mania - She is not sure how she feels about this woman she rarely hears and is apparently close to her Master. It is uncertain if this is jealousy or just discomfort of public affection of a stranger to the Mask. ● Strength - She has yet to meet this member of the Masks but he seems rather open. ● Vengeance - She finds the person to be a little too restricting for what the Masks seem to represent. Variety. But she tries not to get annoyed or judge. ● Loyalty - Has not met yet but has heard her at times. ● Brutality - So far she likes him. He offered to let her ride on his shoulder. She knows his true name since he does not wish to hide it. ● Infamy - She brought him into the Masks. She would like to consider him a friend.
