Character Basics

Mayu Cloudwalker (pronounced Ma-you), is a woman who had escaped from Doma. However, her escape came before the Garleans razed the country. She doesn't often talk about what caused her to leave but the truth is that she was not comfortable with the status she had been given. Born to a nobleman, her father had died when she was 14. Her mother not having much of a way to retain status remarried to a Garlean soldier who was stationed in the town they lived in. In turn, Mayu was betrothed to a Garlean boy her age in Garlemald that she had never met and this is what caused her escape when she turned 15. She snuck onto a pirate's ship and was unaware of the implications until she was put to work and learned to take care of herself. She often abused on this ship until Black Sun raided it and she was taken captive. Within Limsa she was able to plead her case as being a captive to the pirates herself and the Captain, Matthias Silverstar decided to take her in as a ward when she was 17. For two whole years she was hidden from the world to keep her safe since she could have been seen as a beastman in some cases. The Silverstars teaching her magic after they learned she was a natural user. She was quick to pick up on it. When the fall of Doma came she fell into a depression but she picked herself up and decided she was going to make the most of her new home and has not looked back since.

Mayu is a little on the short side but for her whole life she was told that is what was feminine. Keep a decent build, strong but petite. That is what will please a man in the end. With a rounded face and big eyes that watch the world with awe filled wonder, she is seen childish in many aspects even if that is not the case. Sporting long, blonde hair that she takes careful care in making sure everything is in the right place. Blue eyes look out at the world, a light pale color and the limbal ring that is often normal to her people gives off a soft glow from the aether that fills the prodigal girl. From the light foundation she is known to use and to the eyeshadow she uses. Her makeup is used to give a natural look but to accentuate her features the best hs can.

Over the years of being in the sun she has gained a comfortably tan complexion that stands out well against the whitened scales on her body. Scales that she takes caution to keep oiled from flaking or itching. Her horns curve comfortably back and cause little issues for her sleeping even if she does get the questions often of how does she sleep with them. Her response often mentioning squishy pillows. Often the horns are decorated with metal pieces that reflect in silver for her own delight. Her tail is slightly spiked but one will find that the spines are not sharp at all but rounded and even to the touch it is smooth as she is careful about keeping it from irritation with the proximity to fabrics. You can tell by the way she cares for herself that she came from an upper class society and that the things she does for beauty are second nature to her

Personality

At first impression the girl is seen to be childish and that is not entirely far from the truth nor is it entirely true. She takes an excited notion about the world around her and does get quite happy over the little things. There isn't much that doesn't please her and thus she is quite easy to make happy for the most part. However, when she speaks some of that may be taken away. She speaks much like a teacher world and most of the time it is about the observations of aether. The girl on a natural level can see the ebb and flow of the lifestream of the world and while often it is limited to people or could pull at one's life should they use it to see, it does not affect her own. She is very different from most who produce a lot of aether as she is someone who takes in a lot and it is expelled through this ability. However, because of this condition she often will speak on an intellects standards about the world around her. Making note of the flow of others, informing others about how one thing affects another and the outcomes. But that is how she has always been, at least when she understood what she was seeing. She is quick to get around talking about her own past, telling others that's a story for another time. She feels that revealing where she is from and the life she's lead could easily get others to find her so she doesn't want to bring it up. She would rather know more about you than to have you know about her! Terrible at small talk but happy with comfortable silences, she can be a strange girl all around. Once upon a time she had a fairly cheerful personality and it is not lost to her. As she has grown and taken on more serious works. After watching death and diving into work, she has become fairly serious. She watches thing meticulously and will attempt to minimize incidents. She takes her work seriously and is dedicated to what she is in control of. She takes the care of those in the Company fervently and it has gained her a status she never wanted but it was necessary. The darker side of her has come out more and more. It has become noticed that she does not fear blood whether it be hers or anothers. She is not afraid to risk the life of another if it is for the good. She is able to speak calmly about the ripping of someone's soul and even smile in the process. These little bits and pieces have slipped through the cracks and sometimes it is a wonder if it is taken seriously. But she has started to come off as a woman that is best not to cross.

She does not like magic in the least. She also married a Garlean man after her husband's death at sea. She supported her new husband in the assassination attempt against her daughter. Was pregnant at the time of her death. Mayu does not realize she has died. ♥ Hiroshi Cloudwalker [Deceased] - The father of Mayu. He was a nobleman who often doted on his daughter, encouraging her natural abilities when her mother had went against them. It wouldn't be unusual for him to have even brought her magitek to work on because of her interests. However, he died when his ship was targeted for supplying the Rebels. She has missed her father since his death. ● Althena Locke ((Silverstar)) - An adopted mother to Mayu since she has come to Eorzea. She's been teaching her what she can and is referred to as one of Mayu's Masters. ● Matthias Silverstar - An adopted father to Mayu since she has come to Eorzea. He has taken her under his wing in the magic field and has been happy to guide the young woman. She appreciates his guidance and has gotten use to his eccentric antics. ● Emmaline Silverstar - The eldest daughter of Matthias. An aspect of Wind herself and a basic elemental and/or primal. She finds Emmaline to be interesting. ● Alexander Silverstar - The eldest son of Matthias. She doesn't see him much since he has taken charge of the Black Sun but she always makes sure he has a warm welcome with Althena. ● Lithilina Silverstar - The youngest daughter of Matthias and Althena. She is two years old and often Mayu gets stuck babysitting her but she doesn't mind it. So in a sense her uncle. She claims he makes the best cookies in the world. ◢ Friends ♥ Aeirra Rhua - At first Mayu did not particularly like her. She had a temper that she saw often and it was something she had rather avoided. However, over time, Mayu and her had grown rather close and now she considers her more of a sister than anything. Particularly after the death of Azeiox since the two were siblings. There have been times where she has just spent an evening with Dash just so neither of them would be alone. ● Altansarnai Malaguld - This peculiar Au Ra has gotten her attention from standing away from a crowd and so she decided to say hi. He doesn't seem to be much for words but when he does speak it is partially in another language and she has become fascinated by his speech patterns, often asking him what each thing means. It is easy to see he is not as well versed in Eorzea and though she isn't entirely she wants to help him along should he ask for it. She can feel a presence in him, but is not quite sure what it is yet. ● Ausaux Grimand - The Elezen caught her attention in the Quicksand because his aether flow interested her. Then once she started talking to him, the way he spoke interested her. Then of course she had to introduce him to friends. She finds him interesting and wants to learn more about his style of magic and more. ● Autumn Moore - They get along quite easily but their interests seem to be fairly different. She finds the girl to be pleasant and wants to be her friend. What kind of world is it where you don't have friends your age anyway? She hasn't seen the girl in a long time. ♥ Azeiox Venmortis [Deceased] - An Elezen that she has met and is the brother of Kyrsaria and Dash. He was patient with her, despite being impatient with other things around him. He understood her and despite darker tendencies she found herself entranced by him. From reciting poetry and listening to music, they found love at a common ground with books. Many people tell her he smiled a lot more when they were together and that she made the last days of his life happy ones. But even now she still aches because he is gone. And it never fades, it only becomes easier to deal with in time. She was unaware that his body was degrading and he had been searching for ways to fix it but due to this affliction, when Relis put her hand through his chest he was unable to be healed because the cells wouldn't heal and he did pass away in her arms. She wishes for his soul to rest and still finds ways of him having looked over her and the others. ● Beexu Spiritbreaker - Her opinion of this woman has varied to the point that she tires of trying to figure her out. Once the lover of her friend Zero, and then finding how hostile she was towards him has caused annoyance. Then when the woman went after the man that her friend Dash had been consistently and everyone knew she was pursuing, she does not have a high opinion of her or her temper. ● Blazerro Draken - The male has taken a protective role over her from what she has seen and she assumes it is because of her portrayed age in most situations. Her own interest first stemmed from the metal arm he has and now they eye! She wishes to study these magitek bits and learn more about them. However, the Keeper male tends to have a grumpy attitude or just wish to stay out of anything that could remotely be fun so she finds him a bit of a downer when she's wanting to stir up trouble. ● Brimcon Sako - Someone who had joined the company that she found herself with often. A fellow engineer and someone who was easy to talk to. She had helped him on many occasions and he has helped her. She has a high regard of Sako and would be there for him should he ever ask for it. ● Cedric Silverstar - A confusing one indeed. She knows his secret, that he is her guardian's supposedly deceased big brother but she doesn't say a word. After all, that would not get her anything. So she remains quiet. However, her seems to have grown fond of her in some sense, as she has taken a fondness for his adopted son. She wonders if he is playing a game with her. ● Cotota Khal - A fellow engineer but this one likes explosions! Cotota and her work on projects together occasionally and when they do, they work together fairly well. Though she has had occasions where she has not agreed with how she approaches things, she has never had issue with her. ● Emma Holt - The little sister of Nick and someone she has been fairly tempted to tear apart. But that is only because she has shown that she wants some sort of romantic dealings with the man that Mayu already is romantic with! ● Kaito Kumon - A good friend of hers, though apparently he once had a crush on her. But he has always encouraged her to do what made her happy and for that she was grateful. Now they often get together and talk or have a drink. ● Kyrsaria Venmortis - A mentor of sorts to her, Madame Red is always interesting to be in the presence of. She had a childlike curiosity for her at first but eventually it became a growing respect. Despite her often being away on business and not coming out, Mayu is fond of the woman. However, she cannot help but feel hurt that since Azeiox's death she feels as if Kyrsaria has not wished to see her. ♥ Lucretia Ebongrave - A childhood friend and someone she thought she'd never see again. Lulu (as she has always fondly called her) is a half Garlean and half Doman woman who is currently under the employ of the Garlean military. She was sent into Eorzea to actually retrieve Mayu but after a reveal that the leverage they had against her no longer existed she has since switched sides. Now, they are reunited and are willing to take on the entire Empire to make sure they aren't separated again. ● Nahare Mergrey - She is not sure entirely how she feels about this woman, considering that she had made her master almost explode. But otherwise she has gotten encouragement from the woman and she finds her company pleasant. She feels that she can ask the woman's questions and not be judged for it. ● Nicholas Holt - A friend of hers that she met while he held a female form. Despite this she treats him as he wishes to be treated and has attempted to find a way to fix his condition and break the spell he is under. She considers him a close friend however this has changed in the most recent days as he had confessed his love for her. This proved to be awkward as she does not reciprocate these feelings. Their relationship becoming more strained that the day after she was attacked by a powerful mage and he cowered in a corner so she believes his confession to be completely false. After all, he promised he'd protect her. After putting pity on himself after the death of her lover, Mayu disassociated herself from Nick and has mostly ignored his presence. ● Oscarmart Venmortis - The brother (?) of Krysaria, Dash, and Azeiox. She is not sure how to feel about him. However, it can easily be decided that he is utterly insane. She has only met him face to face once but hears him often on the linkpearl. ● Reiner Dorn - The leader of the Runestone and someone that she finds interesting in his magic prowess. She often attends his tournament. She does look up to him in many ways and finds that there are things he hides. She wants to know his secrets but yet, she knows better than to pry. ♥ Serethis Luchiervent - A sky pirate who somewhat fell into her life at the strangest of times. It was after the death of Azeiox and he was drawn to Ul'dah. He spoke the same way he did at first and it threw her off guard. Turns out, that Azeiox's soul went to Serethis and they melded together to make the same person. However, after the more time she has gotten to know him the more she has realized how he is. She believes that he was sent to her by Azeiox to take care of her in some manner. His way of watching over her. She enjoys that he is brash and free spirited. The scoundrel has caught her attention in many ways. In time she had fallen in love with them and they have been engaged to be married as he proposed on Little Ladies Day. Due to how long the engagement was and out of the blue, they have actually gotten eloped but have not told anyone. ● Stein Vespyn - She did not like him because they were so much alike. They thought in a pattern that was so similar that it made her hate him because it was something she wanted no one to make a comparison to. But they have spoken over a secret and in that time bonded as equals. Now she goes to him for advice and he to her. Working together being more often than naught. ● Solid Sequoia - They have only met at tournaments. She's seen her fight and fought against her a few times. Mayu enjoys the woman who has no fear in touching her horns and is pleasant company. She has a trust in the woman that she cannot explain. ● Tenha'a Rendha - The boss's mate. She knows only a little about him but they have been pleasant experiences for her. ● Toff Vaughnn - Someone that is within the free company that she finds amusing to watch. With his temper and out right outspoken attitude she can't help but feel as if he is a good person. She doesn't mind being around him and he has even gotten her to sing once before! ● Togy Brandmakt - Mr. Mask. Or at least, that is what everyone knows him as. Though she knows his true name from searching through things she shouldn't be and also tasked with keeping an eye on him when she's in his presence. She finds him to be a teacher of sorts because of his different use of aether and she enjoys his company since he allows her to be herself without any hindrance or expediencies. She is quick to defend him should some speak ill of him in her presence but not when he is not around but when he is able to defend himself, he is on his own since he can defend himself (unless there are circumstances involved). ● T'shina Vashka - Her boss and someone she finds quite frightening. Their relationship is mostly professional. ● U'zhan Ashblood - A Miqo'te she knows is part of her boss's clan. She finds that he is good for getting answers when she is curious about the things around her. Though he seems to have a grumpy outside he may very well be pretty kind. ● Yuki Kurenai - At first there was a dislike for the girl. She wasn't even sure why she felt uneasy. But over time, the kindness of the woman and the mutual heritage has brought them together. Yuki is now a student of Mayu's. ● Vahn Kasch - She finds him to be very pleasant company despite his grumpy demeanor but he has been overall helpful to her. She feels that if she went to him for help he'd do so. He has given her plenty of advice in her time knowing him and considers him much like a big brother. She knows that he will rescue her when she needs it. ●● Zero Dawnrose - Her first impression of the man is that he is fairly creepy, following her and Mr. Mask when they were trying to speak privately and in her opinion, quite terribly. However, she has been told of his carefree and concerned personality and has been assured by the scary lady he isn't that much of a threat. Just a minor one. And maybe a headache. She has turned to him for comfort when she feels uncomfortable in a situation. ◢ Enemies ● Tadeas Donas [Deceased]- The man who married her mother after her father died. A Garlean military man. He was fairly strict with her and disallowed her use of magic and even tampering with magitek as it wasn't lady like. He is what truly pushed her to run away. When he could not retrieve her, particularly after she reclaimed her rights to her father's company, he ordered her assassination. He has since then been taken care of. ● Akoni Xenon [Deceased] - The man she was betrothed to. Though she has never met him, she is aware the Garlean man is looking for her to make sure she honors their betrothal. When her step father put out the bounty for her to be killed, he put one out for her capture so that he could gain rights to her father's company. He has since been taken care of. ● Relis Firelaine - To say she hated her would be an understatement. After watching this woman kill the man she loved, despite her having 'been possessed' she doesn't believe that half of it was really whatever it was. She avoids this woman at all costs as her presence often triggers visions of what had happened and a rage she cannot control.
