Ruby is a light hearted, usually friendly Auri Xaela girl. When first met she can seem a bit out going and loud. She always means well and does her best to make sure everyone she knows is comfortable, even after first meeting. Ruby confuses a lot of people at first. Her body doesn't match her age, at least not for how time flows in Eorzea. She was born in Eorzea on The Source only a few years ago, though her body is that of seventeen cycles. This is due to a kidnapping her and her brother endured to The First when they were still just babies. Their parents were able to find a way to travel to The First, to the time they were taken, and without a proper way back to The Source, Ruby and her brother were raised in Norvrandt on The First. For what was fourteen years on The First was only two months on The Source. So while Ruby was only two years old when she was kidnapped, she was returend as a proper teenager. Because of this, Ruby has mannerizms that differ a bit from those of The Source, though many find that as part of her charm. On top of her funny curses from a different world, she is also bilingual thanks to her father. Now doing her best to learn indipendance, Ruby now lives in the city of Ul'dah at the Quicksand finding work at the Coleseum. She's already made a few friends and even has her first real crush, but she still has so much to learn about her home world and the people who live in it. APPEARANCE Ruby considers herself to be both tomboy and girly at the same time. She finds ways to kind of mesh the two styles together. She isn't very fond of dresses, though she can be convinced, but she does love painting her face with make up. If she had the choice she would probably wear mostly pirate or steam punk asthetics. PERSONALITY Open-minded. Intelligent. Extraverted. Ruby often considers herself the life of the party, though if she were honest she hasn't been to many. Though she has found it easy to make friends once she became more indipendent. She doesn't have any fear that she'll look like a fool when introducing herself to others, and has no problem walking up to strangers. She tends to reserve her judgments of people until she gets to know them a little better, and prefers to make up her own opinions rather than just believe in what someone else tells her. She seems to always has energy and loves to be with friends. She often finds herself lonely at night in her room. Aside from just people, Ruby is very curious and is very intelligent, sometimes too much for her own good. She would rather discover the truth of something for herself before just believing a rumor. If something piques her interest she will often chase that interest until it gives her all the information it can. Compassionate. Brave. Creative. Along-side that craving for information, Ruby is also very creative and kind. If she is faced with a problem she will do her best to find a solution rather than just give up. You put a wall in her way and she'll do her best to knock it down. On the flip side of that she absolutely refuses to be held back. If she is told no she will look for any loophole or even break the rules entirely. She cannot be held back creatively, or physically. Aside from being so headstrong in the field, Ruby does know how to relax. Though how she relaxes may not always be what others consider "relaxing," her down-time activities do allow her to unwind and release some tension in her muscles and thoughts. She believes that everyone should take time to have a good look at themselves and take time for themselves. Dante began to follow the noise through the crates only to find one labeled as 'Precious Cargo' with a hole in the side. Inside was a bunch of broken pots as well as a Red Panda covered in peanut butter. Ruby's pet by association. Mist Ward 13, Plot 11) UNDERSTANDING HER DABBLES AND WRITINGS COMBAT & WEAPONRY Ruby is skilled in many different forms of combat, though her favorite is with her explosive fists. Ruby can be considered a "Jack-of-all-Trades" when it comes to combate as she has been trained on just about any weapon - though she is most proficient with her fists or a sword. Ruby does consider herself a well rounded combatant and able to easily adjust to new fighting styles, even adapting said styles to suit her own. She is currently a gladiator in the Coliseum in Ul'dah and her favorite fighting style is hand to hand combat, though her hands either burn with fire or explode, and she moves effortlessly and quickly with ice on her feet. (She combines black magick with her monk style fighting.) She loves to spar and will never back down from a challenge. She's yet to see anyone else with a similar style, though were she honest she has yet to really explore the world of Hydaelyn. Being a daughter of both a magic user and melee fighters, Ruby has learned to adapt using multple styles in her fighting. BACKSTORY SHADOWBRINGERS Birth and childhood (0-10) [This story is still ongoing and incomplete. Will update as story develops.] Ruby was a baby that never meant to happen, but it was such a miracle that she was, to both of her parents. Due to some time bending involved with Alexander, a sixteen year old Ruby came back to a time before she was born to save her own father from death at the blade of Cruse Chaser. Very shortly after, she returned back to her own time and a few months later, she was born in Limsa Lominsa. Two cycles later she had a little brother too! A sharp turn early in life nearly had her lost to the world. Shortly after turning two years old the toddler and her new baby brother were kidnapped by a strange fay creature and were taken to The First as captives in an attempt to harm their parents, Dante and Fayne. On top of being pulled into a different world, they had also been taken into the past - the past relative to The Source, anyway. While there she had to be saved by her parents, though they had no easy way back to their home world. While her parents lived as spirits in The First, Ruby and Sapphire were living with their bodies, and so practically grew up as pure citizens of The First - living without light and not much knowledge of The Source aside from what their parents and Nanny Alia could tell them. Fayne’s Thoughts: "A cute lass, fun and determined. A bit too little of a backbone though..." An ex-neighbor and good friend who provided Fayne with jobs when she needed them. Mother of Ilyanna, a beautiful young Miqo'te whom Fayne occasionally babysat. While Fayne was never actually part of the Celestial Forge FC (ICly), Fayne did work for them often, Nel assigning her most of her jobs. They were also, for a small time, occasional fuck buddies. Isilme Turuphant, "Izzy"; Ex-Forge leader. Fayne’s Thoughts: "A good fuck... And a good fighter. Though a bit too absent to be a leader." Lover and partner to Nel, "papa-mama" to Ilyanna, and a strong and close friend to Fayne. An excellent fighter with sword and shield, a very passionate woman, and extremely smart. She was constantly looking into Magitek engineering and other sciences. Izzy was also the occasional fuck, constantly surprising Fayne with new... toys. Miya Sha, Ex-Forge leader. Fayne’s Thoughts: "Hmm. A lance-sister to be sure, a strong fighter, but I think a bit too... critical of herself." A short couple of meetings as Miya was absent from the Forge for a little while, but Fayne grew a strong bond with Miya due to a shared interest in the polearm. She has a strong hope to become a close lance sister. Though she only wishes Miya could be a little more confident in herself. Paradyme Capellago, "Para, Para-pants". Fayne’s Thoughts: "The boy needs to pay more attention..." An extremely close friend and father to Dawn Capellago, an adorable baby girl she took on babysitting for a time. When Fayne first met Para he was homeless, and invited him to live with her until he could get back on his feet. When he was finally able to however, Fayne somehow regretted letting him go. Now they've both seemed to have moved on with their lives. They see each other occasionally, but otherwise keep to their own families. Alia Bloodmoon, "Shady Bitch". (🔃$ ) Fayne’s Thoughts: "She's always up to somethin' and I feel like she's holdin' something over me... BUT WHAT?" A Lalafell she met some cycles ago just after meeting Paradyme that made quite the first impression. They've kept in touch whenever their time allowed, though they have a habit of not speaking to each other for moons at a time, even though they're now working in the same free company! Perhaps Fayne is avoiding her? Tuli Kha. Fayne’s Thoughts: "I love her! She's so happy all of the Gods damn time, and always knows how to put a smile on someone's face." Fayne met Tuli after meeting Dante. Tuli became part of Dante's free company The Blades of Light before the company merged with Kailee's. Tuli has always been light hearted, happy, care free and some how always has cake. But Fayne knows how deadly the girl is too. Liliana Stone, "Lily, Lil, Sis". Fayne’s Thoughts: "Kinda like Kailee, because she likes to fuck with things she shouldn't... why do I like crazy people?" The meeting of this pair is still yet to be determined, but I will update as soon as it is figured out. They are fairly close, and Lily has been Fayne's midwife for both of her births. Jayla Rose, Fayne’s Thoughts: "I've only really just met the lass. She seems nice though, a little quiet but not shy. I like her!" Fayne met Jayla officially shortly after having Ruby. She had known about Jayla soley before just because she was introduced into the FC. She knew she existed, but had never formally met her. Fayne had used Jayla's library a time or two while pregnant, but after actually meeting the woman Fayne quite likes her. She is quiet, but not a shy person. And Fayne likes that. Esperia Unmei, (🔃 ) Fayne’s Thoughts: "A bit of an odd one that lass. But she was so nice, and treated my daughter with such kindness when we met. She was a little too interested though. The staring at my baby was... well... weird." The two of them met at a magick fair that Fayne new Para's new place of work was hosting. She decided to visit, mostly for Paradyme, but also to see if she could learn a little about magick. She met Esperia on a whim while she was staring at her baby. But she seemed nice enough, and put on a spectacular performance at the fair. Cailin Rhaksal, "Kitten". Fayne’s Thoughts: "Quiet, sweet, innocent lass..." A graduate student of Kailee's. She's a nice girl, though a bit too shy for Fayne's tastes. Fayne doesn't interact with her too often with their interests just being too different. She will occasionally dye the little girl's hair. Watching her grow up has been very interesting for Fayne, though. She wasn't like most teenagers, and they had become closer friends while Fayne was pregnant as Cailin was one of her midwives. Now she's Ruby's babysitter from time to time. Such a sweet girl. Rinza Hatsuyuki. Fayne’s Thoughts: "I seem to be drawn towards healers. But this one is different. This one can swing a sword." Fayne met Rinza on a simple delivery mission when suddenly she was caught in a snow storm and couldn't (read: wasn't allowed to) leave the premises. She stayed the night in Rinza's room, had a little fun, and got do know her fairly well in a single morning before Fayne had to rush off again. They still meet up every so often and have a nice time together teaching each other new things about themselves and Fayne's past and (new) heritage. Exena Lynvelir. Fayne’s Thoughts: "Stoic but kind. This woman has gotten me outta quit'a few binds. She's strong an' skilled. She knows what she's doin'." Exena had been in the Order of Dragoons for longer than Fayne had before Exena retired. But during her first year in Fayne met Exena and somewhat clung to her as a a desperation attempt to have a friend while Fayne was in Ishguard. Aspen Allspice. Fayne’s Thoughts: "She's uhm. Not what you'd expect. I had always been told never t'judge a book by it's cover but Twelve be damned, I didn't think it would go that far." Aspen was introduced to the Redstone family after Dante went exploring to find help for the voidsent living in his mind. Aspen helped Dante out a lot, and so brought her home to introduce her to Fayne and the kids. NEUTRAL Tessa Jalloh, "Tess"; Ex-Forge leader. Fayne’s Thoughts: "Fun and spunky... different. I think she's from the same place as Dante?" Went on a couple of jobs with her with the Forge. Otherwise Fayne didn't really interact with them. Melodia D'janz. (🔃 ) Fayne’s Thoughts: "I... dunno this person." Isilme introduced them, though that was all she met of Melodia. Hrodrich Wracwulf, "Hrod". Fayne’s Thoughts: "Tough and unforgiving. A Roegadyn in a Lalafell body." Though they met under...unpleasant circumstances, Fayne knows Hrodrich as a kind of body guard for Kailee's old free company. He's now off being a mercenary for a different free company, so Fayne hardly sees him anymore. Kassandra Dawn, "Kass"; Dante's ex. Fayne’s Thoughts: "We got along okay. Didn't talk to her much." A fellow worker while under Kailee's house, Kass was almost second in command at Aether Labs. As Fayne understands it she used to date Dante. Fayne knew her briefly, and now has no idea where she is. Selene Cehter. (🔃 ) Fayne’s Thoughts: "I don't remember her too well... Though she seemed like a nice lass." Fayne met Selene while working for Kailee. Selene came looking for work, but left only moons after as she followed her lover. She was odd, the short time Fayne knew her, but didn't consider her a bad person. Ithki Rhaksal. Fayne’s Thoughts: "Rawr..." Though Fayne only knows him though Cailin - him being the girl's husband and all - Fayne can't help but find herself physically attracted to him. Aside from that, she knows he's a great fighter and he doesn't brush his hair. That's about all. Agrias Tatsutori. (🔃 ) Fayne’s Thoughts: "She was... very helpful. It's a shame I don't see her anymore." An Au Ra new to the Forge, met in unfortunate circumstances. Though after a talk and sharing sensitive information with each other, she seems like a good girl. Iasmin Ray. Fayne’s Thoughts: "She's a very pretty lass. Short, and short tempered too." A very blunt Au Ra Fayne suddenly met in the Quicksand. Iasmin is small and cute, though a bit rough around the edges. Dante seems to have issues with her though. No matter what he does he can never seem to get on Iasmin's good side, and this doesn't sit entirely well with Fayne. Arik Kha. Fayne’s Thoughts: "By the Twelve the boy needs a back bone... Let loose lad." Fayne loves to mess with this large Au Ra. For his size he's quite the teddy bear, and flusters easily. But he's a good lad and Fayne thinks she would like him as a brother-in-law. Willam Hicke. Fayne’s Thoughts: "Hmm. There isn't much to say yet. He sounds like a good da. Passionate. I hope things go better fer him." They met during a march from Ul'dah to Little Ala Mhigo, striking up small conversation between the event's speeches and fights. Fayne rather likes him, and after hearing of his bad luck and his home land, she hopes the coming work to liberate Ala Mhigo goes well. NEGETIVE Jigumundo Darkbore. Fayne’s Thoughts: "Ehhh... dinae like him." While she was held away for her own safety, Jigumundo decided to conduct an experiment of his own, a slight painful one that Fayne did not approve of. Kailee Ivicus, Blade and Tonic leader. ($ ) Fayne's Thoughts:"I wish there was a way I could make it up to her. I don't want her to hate me..." Fayne's ex-lover whom she first met on a job associated with the Forge, which ended in failure thanks to her. She met her again moons later, saving Kailee from her own nightmare, literally. It was that night she took her back to her boat, and they dated for a time, before Fayne screwed up everything. Fayne still loves her as a friend, but is just too scared to work things out with Kailee, afraid she is just holding onto a grudge. FAMILY These are mostly backstory-related relationships. FAMILY MEMBERS Dante Redstone, "Dork, Love, Dingus, Beautiful, Dampe"; Fayne's Husband, Blade and Tonic leader. ( 💑 ) Fayne’s Thoughts: "Hmmm... There's nothin' I can say that would do him justice..." -Said with a dumb smile on her face. Dante took her in when Fayne hit rock bottom after her break up with Kailee. He's turned into a very loyal, trusted friend and husband, and the father of her child. She loves the man to death and would never leave him for anything. In fact she has started to follow him around like a lost puppy, always right behind him (or beside him) during battle. Even if that battle was picked unnecessarily and she didn't agree with it in the first place. She would protect him with her life. Fayne loves the man hard, and wouldn't have him change for anything. Ruby Redstone, "Rubles"; Daughter. Fayne’s Thoughts: "My precious darlin' daughter... Prob'ly the best surprise I've ever had." Ruby was both a surprise in her belly, and when it was revealed who the mysterious Ruby from the future was. Poor Fayne found out at the same time that Ruby was from the future to save Dante's life and keep him from dying. At the same time, she found out she was pregnant with the little time traveler. Now future Ruby is gone, but her precious child is here to stay and Fayne wouldn't have it any other way. And now she has Dante there to help her. She has to be the luckiest woman on this entire star. Sapphire Redstone, Saphy. Fayne’s Thoughts: "My precious baby boy. I would hold him forever if I could." Sapphire was the second, and probably last, surprise baby Fayne had. He is only a few months born at the time of writing this. He did not have a dramatic future siting the same way his older sister Ruby had, but he is loved just as much. Both Fayne and Dante are now proud parents of both a boy and a girl. Mindred Firestar, Mother. Fayne’s Thoughts:"My Ma. We don't get along the greatest, but she is still my Ma, and I love her." Fayne doesn't talk to her mother much, and growing up they never seemed to be able to get on the same page. Fayne knows that the way she lives her life now is far different than what her mother wanted, and that puts a little bit of strain between them, but not so much that they hate each other. Alden Firestar, Father. Fayne's Thoughts:"Twelve... I miss him..." Fayne grew up not really seeing her father much as he was a soldier in the Maelstrom, and thus gone a lot. Though she has fond memories of him teaching her how to use the polearm. She misses him ever since he's been presumed dead at Carteneau. Aeschild Firestar, Younger Sister. Fayne’s Thoughts:”I think she's trying to copy me. Eh.” Same deal as Fayne's mother, Fayne doesn't really talk to her sister much. Though this is more because Fayne is just bad at keeping up with folks. Being only three years apart Fayne sometimes feels like her sister is mimicking her in style and life choices, but this could also just be because they're siblings. It's not necessarily a bad thing, she just hopes it's what her sister actually wants in life. Aldwyn Firestar, Younger Brother. Fayne’s Thoughts: "I really hope he knows what he's doing." Watching her little brother follow in her father's footsteps she became very concerned about her younger brother. He joined the Maelstrom in hopes of glory, and becoming "awesome" like his father. Unfortunately these things don't mix, and so I don't get the RP I seek all of time. This is also paired with the fact that I RP when I'm bored, or have any kind of spare time (even if it's just five minutes). Please never feel like you are a bother to me! Do not be afraid to come to me looking for RP! I accept walks ups and tells in game, and I RP over Discord as well. Aside from that, I am also an artist! I do take commissions on occasion, just ask! I promise I wont bite, and I try to work with you every step of the way. Again, please do not be afraid to tell me something. But that is a discussion for another time. I am in my twenties, working five days a week and have little time to actually RP or do a lot of stuff in game. I try my hardest to always be attentive and I reply to everyone's messages as soon as possible! I do try to be in game when I can, and I am constantly on Discord (FayneFirestar #7298)! I try to be very understanding and open-minded, and I hate conflict. I am always trying to improve myself, so if you see anything wrong or weird, please tell me and I will try to fix it. THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND... Communication is very important. Communication is something very important to me. Weather it's just a fun little slice of life RP or a heavy hitting drama, please be sure to talk with me and I will talk with you about what's going on. I want to make sure everyone is okay with what is happening OOCly, and that no stress will come of anything. OOC does not equal IC I have had enough drama in my role-playing life to know I don't want to confuse anything IC with OOC. Feelings, strain, conflict, anything that happens ICly with my characters does not equate to how I feel about you as a real person. This is why communication is so important. I might be busy! As much as I try to stay on Discord as often as possible, I might actually be busy. Please bare with me if I don't respond to you right away! I work often, five days a week 9AM-6PM. If I am AFK in game, I might be cooking dinner, or doing some much needed chores. I might also be asleep, as much as I wish I didn't need it. Please have patience with me, I will get back to you as soon as I can. I do more than just RP! If it wasn't obvious I do also do actual content. There might be times I am running dungeons or have plans to farm a thing for the sake of getting a new thing. I'm not afraid to have you along, but a lot of the time my party is full (I have pre-mades all over the place), so please ask and I can probably set something up with you if you ever want to do anything! Touching a bit back on OOC vs IC, I would rather be on good terms with you in real life, than have to force our characters to like each other for the sake of liking each other. If you can't RP, I'm always down for headcannons and discussing new content/ideas. Parts of my character's histories are intentionally left blank. Some of my character's backgrounds may intentionally be left undeveloped or even not there to leave room for growth. Should new ideas arise or anyone wish to be a part of my character's past, the openings are there to fill. GUIDELINES I don't get offended or super uncomfortable easily. I know I myself can get a little weird and uneasy to be around sometimes. So I'm going to show you a list of do's and don't's so you have a better understanding of what you're getting yourself into, and what not to ask of me (because I don't like some stuff, just like you). I WILL NOT... Seriously injure someone without first talking about it. Going back to the communication thing, I need someone to talk to me first before making any kind of life altering decision is made. If you want me to stab, maim, any kind of NSFW, even possibly kill your character, or if you want to do anything of the sort to mine, please ask me first and we can discuss what will or wont happen as a result. I have learned from past mistakes. Take constant abuse. Having an antagonist is fine, but if it ever comes to a point where a supposed friend is doing nothing but hurting my characters or themselves on a constant basis just to have drama, I'm sorry but I'm out. I WILL... RP darker themes. These aren't the most comfortable subjects, and I know it, and not everyone has to do them. But I will RP torture, rape, fights, drama. However please be patient with me. Sometimes it can be too much for me as a mun, and I need a second. It is not that I don't enjoy the RP, I just become too emotionally attached to my characters. I will say this again and again; communication is key. ERP. I will say this again and again; communication is key. I have had issues in the past that surrounded ERP, but that wont stop me from cutting it from my life completely. However there must be an understanding that it is between the characters and the characters only. Also as mentioned in the above "will do," if I ever get to being too uncomfortable a discussion will be had before I continue the RP. All I ask is that you please be patient with me. Please ask before initiating anything and please understand when I ask to fade to black. RP Relationships. This is actually something I thrive off right now. IC relationships give me something to RP at all times, or even have discussions and cute draw ideas! This is not restricted to romantic relationships by the way! Platonic, and business relationships are also very welcome! So long as everything is understood as to what is IC and what is OOC, everything will be fine. Communicate with me.
