Character
♦ General
Leon was initially a tribal Keeper of the Moon, until tragic events forced him to become a knight and shed the name Rewo'a Vhaaza. He was trained as a knight since he was 8 years old, leading a life of endless fighting and toil. He cares for those around him very much, to the point of being willing to risk his life for them with no hesitation, the same can be said for killing. Leon is often depressed and feels helpless beneath his veneer of chivalry and normalcy.
Brother to Rei'li Niraj.
♦ Appearance
Leon is a regular sized Miqo'te, he has very well defined muscles due to his life of martial training. He also has a white hair with a few black tufts. He often wears armor, even if only a bit of chain beneath his doublet. He has tarnished gold eyes, and has vestigial tribal tattoos on his cheeks, fading as he aged.
♦ Behaviour
Leon is often known as brash and reckless, for good reason. Leon often is the first into a fight and the last one out, he fights viciously to protect those dear to him. Outside of combat situations Leon is far more playful, he often jokes at his own, or others expense. He also tends to use honorifics when dealing with people, though he may drop them after he has grown sufficiently close to someone.
Every now and again, when fighting a powerful, or at least challenging opponent Leon may start laughing, enjoying the adrenaline rush he gets from fighting, while not enough to cloud his judgement entirely, it may render him more brutal and effective.
Leon is unwaveringly heterosexual, and while he can appreciate good or bad flirts coming from men, he won't budge.

Ghost of The Past: A log of past events in Leon's life that were important for him.
Leon earned the slightly infamous title The White Wolf of during his efforts five years ago in the war against Garlemald. The tale of the White Wolf, sung by a scant few bards who want not for gil, tells tales of his exploits in the battles. The tales also tell of him killing Eorzeans and sacrificing anything, even his fiancée to try and win the war for Eorzea. As the five years passed, the White Wolf of the Black Shroud eventually turned into a cautionary tale of overzealous patriotism and the dangers of enjoying warfare. The tale was also blown out of proportions, portraying the White Wolf as a single man, instead of a unit of highly trained soldiers, and telling accounts of him killing countless Garleans. Any man who was in Carteneau or is well informed will quickly be able to debunk the tale.
<To be expanded>
Wandering Blade: Leon spent a bit over a year in a nomadic voyage across Eorzea, with the sole purpose of purging those he found evil. The underlying motive was to die in a blaze of glory, he had lost all of his brothers-in-arms during the siege of the fortress he called home. He traveled and fought day-in and day-out, attempting to find an enemy so great that it could give him the death he wanted. But that was not in the cards, as Leon eventually ran into Brynhilde Wulf in his travels, and she helped him out of a sticky situation. Leon thanked her and moved on, but little did he know that his involvment with her would only increase. He had heard of strange activity in Little Ala Mhigo, and enlisted with a group of skilled individuals to investigate the situation, this group was comprised of Brynhilde and the residents of Cliffperch. After the foray into the Sagolii, they eventually came across the reason for the odd events happening, a cultist was butchering the people around the area. When confronted by Leon, Brynhilde, Brave Horizon, Shashato Shato,Arcian Martell he summoned an Ahriman that attacked the investigators under the man's bidding. After this Leon was angry and confused, and with that he followed Bryn back to Cliffperch and questioning her about what had happened. Amidst that conversation was when he was discovered to be a Branded, much like the residents of Cliffperch. This gave him a cause worth fighting for, the cause of ruthlessly stamping out the weeds known as the Entudenin.
Knight Errant: Leon took advantage of his situation, a man with nothing to lose and very skilled at martial combat, and used it to the advantage of the Branded of Cliffperch. He was always the first into the fights if he could help it, always willing to sacrifice body and limb to protect the Branded, who had saved him from his previous death-seeking path. Leon was also a ruthless foe to the Entudenin, killing them without even the slightest bit of remorse, unfettered by the loss of their lives. And then Leon met a foes he couldn't hope to match up against, Varus Rosenthal the magus who possessed power that was beyond his understanding of combat, Leon never backed down however, and fought Varus on a few occasions. Leon eventually was angered by his helplessness, and his nightmares of Carteneau returned, all of his friends getting killed, if not by the Garleans, by Bahamut. This lit a fire in him, the determination to not let it happen a third time, and with that he left Cliffperch behind in search for the power he would need to protect those he loves and cared for. This would lead into the assault of the fortress he grew up in, the Lunar Ark. There he recovered the few remaining Allagan relics his order had, which he now wields.
During this timeframe Leon also joined the Stormguard, by coming across Moltove Mon'tova and eventually convincing him that the knight was a great combatant searching for a challange. There Leon ran into S'ereno Tia, Camille Everardi, Kylin Felstar, Domri Blackblade, Khuja'to Tayuun, Keru Lowry, and several other members of the Guard. Leon was skeptical of the Guard for several suns, until he finally saw their enemy, and the goal of the Guard. After the revelations that Leon had bore witness to, he decided that he would aid the Stormguard to the best of his abilities. After serving the Guard for around a moon Leon was admitted into their ranks as a Templar of Fortis. Shortly after that he had to leave on his journey to the Lunar Ark.
Knight of Light: Leon had returned to Cliffperch and Sanctum(The home of the Stormguard) with renewed strength and purpose. His first contact with his allies again was coming back to Cliffperch's lawn a dead man walking. There Kyraeth Vale nursed him back to health. After his return Leon spent a lot of time catching up to the new developments to both the Stormguard and the Branded. During this time Leon spent a lot of his time protecting Septha, who he grown fond of. This led to a turn of events where he broke a blood oath and went through a near-death experience, saved by Septha. Leon has since felt the need to protect her, even from himself. During this time Leon also adapted to his new set of skills, granted to him by wielding the relics of the Astral Knights of Dalamud. Leon also met an Au Ra , Izanami "Mayon" Stormcaller. Leon saw potential in Mayon to reach, or surpass him. And so, while Draco Nobis teaches her, he tests her. Leon is attempting to strenghten her by putting her in situations where her fight or flight instincts kick in and there he measures her power and protects her in case she goes overboard. And then, in the 17th Sun of the Third Umbral Moon he recieved the letter from a benefactor in the Holy See of Ishgard, offering him a position as a dragoon.
Combat
Leon is an expert at martial combat, due to most of his life revolving around it. His expertise is with swords, but is able to use any weapon with some degree of skill. He is also a journeyman polearm and dagger user.
Leon has lost his spear in recent incidents, and has decided to take up his longsword and claymore out of nessecity.
His combat style is one of unhesitating pressure, attempting to end it as soon as possible before his injuries become too prohibitive, this combat philosophy of his often leads to severe wounds.
Leon has lived through wounds that would surely kill a normal man. Falling fifty feet and landing on a pile of scrap metal, scorched by dragonfire, and marching for two days after being poisoned and with several arrows and spear wounds. These feats attest to his greatest talent, his unyielding tenacity to keep living, so that he will be able to lay his life on the line again.
Leon is also the only survivor of the Astral Knights of Dalamud, this fact means he holds one of the few Astral Rings, which tap into the Allagan Astral Array. This allows him to use powerful spells from the Third Astral Era, but the system has been damaged over the years, leading to the system almost always damaging the user when they use the spells.
Spells: |
---|
Astral Haste: This spell taxes Leon's limbs a good deal, after half an hour of use would render Leon unable to move his limbs. This spell allows Leon to increase his speed even further, moving at speeds that would put him ahead of the vast majority of the denizens of Eorzea. |
Astral Strengthening: This spell is very similar to Astral Haste, only for the purpose of increasing his already high strength to a point where he can evenly match a master pugilist in punching power(power alone, not technique). |
Astral Lance: The Astral Lance is a last resort manuever for Leon, as it requires a good deal of preparation and concentration. The spell has severe backlash, damaging his arm to the point of rendering it immobile for days. The spell has enough raw power to make up for the damage caused to the user though, able to turn most foes into charred carcasses in smoldering craters. |
Astral Teleport: A variant of the basic teleportation spell, a spell devised to make up for his inability to teleport using his own aether. Minor backlash. |
Astral Armoire: Leon can imprint onto his items a rune, allowing him to summon them with only minor burns to his left hand in exchange. |
Astral Barrier: A crafty spell that allows Leon to create a barrier shaped to his desire, the spell isn't so much blocking as it is gravitating the attacks or attackers away, the spell pressurizes his organs. |
Astral Warding: This spell is a constant measure that Leon employs. It serves as a protective shield around his body, bolstering his defensive capabilities, but slowly taxing his body in the process. The Warding can be strenghtened or weakened at will, affecting the amount of damage it deals to his body in the process. Currently Leon is able to passively hold the warding for thirteen hours at minimal power, and two hours at maximum power. |
Astral Blade: A technique much like the Astral Warding, it allows him to increase the range and increase the damage his blade can deal according to his will. This technique is less taxing when only shrouding the blade, but when expanded or manipulate it damages the tissues within his arm and also may set his hand ablaze if used to a great extent. |
Leon's body is uncannily resilient to damage, able to sustain life-threatening wounds and keep going. He also has the trait of being able to fully recover from most wounds he suffers. His strength and agility are on par with his endurance and tenacity, he is able to keep up with some wild beasts, and is strong enough to lift a Roegadyn, with a great deal of effort.
Noteworthy Equipment: |
---|
Astral Longsword: Leon's weapon of choice. This sword is close to indestructible by non-aetheric means. This blade also has a hard time losing its edge, but it has happened several times due to extreme and improper use. This blade also serves as a secondary focus to keep Leon's spells from getting too out of hand. It also is able to store aether to a lesser extent. |
Astral Ring: This ring allows Leon to draw white aether and weave powerful, but volatile spells. |
Knight Commander's Curtana(Astral Claymore): Classified. |
Darkmythrite Armor: A suit of armor that Leon had forged for an exorbitant amount of gil, the armor made of an alloy composed of Darksteel and Mythrite. The armor is very hardy and lightweight, affording Leon both mobility and protection. The armor is also enchanted with several spells and runes to protect the user from magical attacks. |
Springblade: A sword crafted by an old friend of Leon's, the sword itself is roughly as sturdy as a regular tempered steel sword despite its construction, this is thanks to the alloy used in creating the blade. |
