History

Lily And Shiro.png

---Lily, in her defensive combat stance, and her chocobo, Shiro, shown above.

"After all, if something is not done soon, none of us are going to make it out of this alive." ---Lily Dawnsworn, first and last journal entry in the Old Book, abandoned in the Corvus Cinis HQ prior to the Calamity.

Before The Calamity

~

"We are but simple folk, some of us farmers, some of us smiths, some of us husbands, some of us wives. Some of us have children, some of us have none but ourselves. Yet there is something that unites us all. We are all from Ala Mhigo, and we have all made a solemn vow to fight the Garlean Empire until we have regained control of the home that was torn from our grasp...the home we lost fifteen summers gone." ---Thoughts Of An Ala Mhigan.

~

When the great tragedy that befell Ala Mhigo occurred at the hands of Garlemald, Lily was but a little girl, born into the nobility, and from an early age it was intended for her to take up the sword, to serve the people and in turn earning their respect as it was the duty. Ripped from her homeland and her parents, the fates of which she has never been able to ascertain, Lily had taken a nomadic life, migrating from settlement to settlement, until the journey finally brought her to Eorzea. There, Lily would mature, content to ignore and be ignored, as she aspired to be a champion for the people, in the hopes one day she would return to her homeland and drive the Garleans out.

Of course even the best laid plans often go awry; before her dream could be realized, she had to sharpen her combat skills, acquire funding, and social standing. This would lead her to the city of Ul'Dah, where she would begin these trials of body and spirit. There she would meet Dyne Evans, who would show her how to get around, the common places of interest, and companies of employment. Through Dyne, Lily eventually found Corvus Cinis, and though it was slow at first, she came to find a family within their organization, the likes of which she had not felt for many years.

It need not be said that Lily had grown close to Dyne, though the happiness that followed would not last, as he would meet his death, triggering a series of events to find his killer. Even so, Lily found trusting to others completely to be difficult, yet it did not hinder her day-to-day duties in Corvus Cinis. And that is how it would be, until the sorrow became memory, and she found comfort in her friends and "family" once more. Lily has been diligently performing the tasks assigned to her by Corvus Cinis, between journeys of training and self-awareness, ever since, right until the day of the Calamity.

Post Calamity

Chapter One: Reunion

After years of working in solitude, Lily had returned to Ul'Dah, working closely with some individuals she had met during her personal mission against Garlemald. Imagine her surprise when out of the blue, the linkpearl she possessed from Corvus Cinis began to brim with life, as voices were heard on the other end. As a direct result of this, Lily was able to meet with Alothia and some of her companions, setting in motion plans to resurrect Corvus Cinis. Coincidentally, Lily had finally taken writing a journal seriously.

In the short time after that reunion both Lily and Alothia exchanged stories and experiences, each recounting the two-sided tale of what happened after Dalamud came crashing down upon Eorzea. It was here she would learn of Paradyme, the beginning of the investigation into Rhu'to Brom, and her reunion with Fearless.

Sometime during the calm following these events, Lily was appointed by Alothia as her second-in-command, even if it may or may not have been temporary. The number of fresh new recruits joining Corvus Cinis began to rise, just as events concerning Eric Verus's welfare ran its course. Eric survived the ordeal, bringing K'anko, Alothia, Eric and Lily to a new level of trust among them.

Chapter Two: Unrest

Following the recovery of Eric after his surgery, powerful forces were at work within Corvus Cinis. The first of these events involved Lainseworth Ravencraft, the resident poet and mute of the company, who had imparted knowledge to Lily and select individuals of the company member base that he had uncovered a method to restore his voice. This method, however, involved dark magick, and it would not come without a price. None of them sat well with Lily, but it was not her choice to make. In the end it fell on Paradyme Capellago's shoulders, who opted for Lainseworth to relinquish his abilities as a Paladin, and from that point on, Lainseworth was gifted with a voice. His adjustment to it was still in its infancy.

The entire ordeal left the company exhausted, including Lily, who was now tasked with managing the affairs of Corvus, while dealing with her own problems all at once. This respite was not to last, for during a time of relaxation, Souyo Xander had fallen under the influence of a crystal radiating with darkness, and he turned his spear upon Lily, Lainseworth, and Eric. Unable to withstand this new found power, the three were left defeated in Coerthas, and forced to withdraw back to Fallgourd Float to ponder this turn of events.

Following the subsequent standoffs that occurred over the pearl airwaves, Lily issued a pearl-silence mandate, until the issue at hand was resolved. It was to be decided to settle the matter in Behemoth's Dominion, the most dangerous region within the Coerthas Highlands. The battle was intense, and the counterattack swift and fierce. However, time and time again, Alothia, Eric and Lily were able to hold their ground against Souyo and his plan, and thwarted his attempts to make off with yet another crystal. It is uncertain when their next encounter will be, but Lily has resolved to see this through to the end, whatever end that may be.

Relationships

The Needs Of Many.png

"The needs of many far outstrip the needs of one."

  • Zenge Eien: A member of Corvus Cinis. It was Zenge that personally recruited Lily, after her informal introduction to the group as a whole, and he shares some of the beliefs and convictions she has. She has not seen him for many years now. Zenge is one of the three people within the company that knows of Lily's true heritage.
  • Fearless Wynn: One of the many Roegadyn employed within Corvus Cinis. Fearless left for home during the long break for Heavensturn and returned to the company shortly after. When time allowed, Lily and Fearless spent time together, even formed a close relationship after events concerning Dyne Evans subsided. It is uncertain what Lily truly feels for him, and the time apart may have put a wedge between them, but she still trusts him implicitly. Wynn is one of the three people that knows of Lily's true heritage.
  • Alothia Starkwood: Company head of Corvus Cinis. Lily has the utmost respect for Alothia, knowing the trials one must go through to maintain an organization, even to lead people. Alothia is one of the few people Lily can have a conversation with and not feel awkward around. Unofficially, Lily is usually the one who will keep Alothia from letting her emotions get the best of her in certain situations that require a clear head, yet careful not to overstep her bounds. Alothia is one of the three people that knows of Lily's true heritage.
  • Tayn Zolin: A Midlander Lily had the pleasure...or displeasure...of knowing during her time away from Eorzea and the event at Cartaneau. Tayn is a Hyur on a mission, though at times, his penchant to crack inappropriate jokes is a source of irritation for Lily. Despite that, he has proven reliable in the past, and Lily understands that Tayn's laid back disposition is a mask to hide the true man behind it.
  • Oskar Helvig: An Elezen that unfortunately holds a lot of history with Corvus Cinis, and by extension Lily. When she was brought into the fold, she knew him as Alothia's significant other, and while Lily has the utmost respect for Alothia, she cannot say the same for Oskar, yet she tolerated him, even while everyone else was ready to strike him down. Oskar has not shown his face around Thanalan or Eorzea as a whole for a long time, and while Lily does not wish to actually see it, she does not wish a bad end for him.
  • Kassandra Dawn: Secretary for Corvus Cinis. Lily sees Kass as a good friend, someone to confide in when insecurities arise, sometimes while Lily dabbles in metallurgy. The last time she has spoken to Kass was on the eve of her first and only journal entry.
  • Burgenheim Rousa: A Roegadyn that defines the "Silent" personality archetype. Burgenheim rarely speaks, but when he does, a fountain of poetry and wisdom forms in its place. The two of them often are considered the level headed members of Corvus Cinis, seeing as how their upbringing and experiences allow them to look at things objectively.
  • Paradyme Capellago: A Midlander Hyur like Lily, who apparently is Alothia's newest significant other. Though a touch better than her past relationships, there seems to be a rift forming between Alothia and Paradyme, to which Lily can only watch helplessly. At their last encounter, it seems their engagement is off. Lily could only watch as the two began to drift apart, little by little.
  • Vash Ashford: A male Miqo'te that happened upon Corvus Cinis during an encounter with Misaio and Paradyme, one that ended bitterly. After a lengthy discussion, Lily was illuminated to the origins of Vash, and his purpose for coming to Eorzea. His personality and disposition seems like a refreshing change to a more strict regimen that Lily undertakes.
  • Penelope Rundall: The most recent recruit of Corvus Cinis. Penelope shows potential, though there is room for improvement. Lily hopes that her time among them will temper her spirit.
  • Abaigeal Causland: The bartenderess of Soliloquy. She seems to know Alothia, and from Lily's observations, Abaigeal can certainly multitask. Because her first experience at Soliloquy was memorable for Lily, she has generously donated 3000 Gil in the form of a round of drinks, also intended as a gesture of thanks for being shown the wonderful scenery and of course a bottle of Larkscall Syrah.
  • Lainseworth Ravencraft: A member of Corvus Cinis. His disappearance much before the fall of Dalamud upon Eorzea was a curious affair, but one Lily had limited knowledge of. Lainseworth has been granted the ability to communicate with his voice once more, despite losing abilities he inherited as a Paladin, and his flowing script that he scrawls across his book indicates that within that Lalafell body beats the heart of a poet. His loyalty to the company and to Alothia is unflinching.
  • K'anko Tia: A recent addition in Corvus Cinis. Lily does not know much about K'anko, save for the obvious connection he has with Alothia. As a company member, she finds K'anko reliable, and candidly honest, qualities that Lily herself exhibits.
  • Eric Verus: A recent addition in Corvus Cinis. Eric carries himself like a poet, bearing insight into everything he speaks of. He seems to know about Lily's Ala Mhigan background, though not all of the details being that Lily is unwilling to impart everything about it herself, and in light of that a link has formed, in which often the two would exchange ideals and woes when time allows. Having survived the operation to remove the vile affliction within his stomach, Eric has become one of Lily's confidants.
  • Navei Asue: A Midlander that Lily met during her time in Ul'Dah, and then subsequently in Wineport. Due to an off-handed chuckle when Lily walked by, Navei seemed to have taken an active interest in her, ranging from who she is to what motivates her to do what it is that she does. Navei seems to have a connection with Alothia and Corvus Cinis.
  • Starwind Meladon: A Midlander with an anti-hero persona, a recent addition in Corvus Cinis. Though not the most social of people, Lily can see he possesses great power, power that can be used in the service of Corvus Cinis, while they search for Starwind's own lost past.
  • Rio van Rosch: A Miqo'te that was under the employ of Corvus Cinis five years past. A quick-tempered but excellent study in the science of MagiTek, it gives Lily insight as to how Garlemald advanced so quickly in the annals of history. Though she has not voiced it yet, Lily intends to use Rio's knowledge when her long term goal of driving Garlemald out of Ala Mhigo is finally within reach.
  • Souyo Xander: Prior to the Calamity, Souyo was the chef of Corvus Cinis. Upon his return to the company, he had professed admiration for Lily, having watched her grow from her days of recruitment to the present. However, due to the corruption of a crystal filled with the power of darkness, Souyo has become one of Lily's rivals in combat. It is her hope she can bring Souyo back to his senses, or end his current Path of destruction, one way or another.
  • Seseriku Viviriku: A Lalafell that happened to run across Corvus Cinis and was dragged into their affairs. At first glance he appears serious to a fault, yet beneath that exterior beats a kind heart, having assisted Lily and the members of Corvus during the battle at Behemoth's Dominion. Lily has recently offered him a place in Corvus Cinis, to which Seseriku accepted.
  • Salty Lake: A female Seawolf Roegadyn, introduced to Lily as "Saelziseik Sundyrsunnwyn." To keep from butchering her name too much, Lily has opted in calling her Saelzi. At first impressions, she struck Lily as a "do what I want" kind of person, and to this day has yet to prove her wrong. Like Starwind, Salty is one of the newest additions to Corvus Cinis, and Lily holds her skills in high regard.
  • Aerius Destroven: A Midlander Lily met by chance one day, who while on the outside is nothing but snark and whimsical, hides something from the rest of the world---something she has seen more often than not in even her closest connections. What fascinates Lily the most is that Aerius does not seem well traveled, and is easily excited by the prospect of seeing new things across Hydaelyn. Like many among Corvus Cinis and those she considers friends, Lily has taken it upon herself to supply Aerius with combat arms and show him the ways of the sword, while at the same time get dragged into his shenanigans.
  • Garrett Sancsaron: Aerius's friend, and sometimes, the muse to some of his jokes. The Midlander lacked confidence, as displayed whenever approached by the opposite sex, though his confidence issues do not end there. During their association, Lily has tried multiple times to give Garrett a shred of courage---alas, nearly every effort has been futile. Still, Lily would not abandon Garrett when he is in need, and thus protects him from any harm that would come to him.
  • Trisselle Ganathain: Aside from Oskar Helvig, Trisselle might be the only Elezen she knows beyond mere acquaintance. She carries herself with elegance, yet has her share of insecurities, something Lily had seen in another one of her acquaintances, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Lily has noticed that Trisselle looks upon her with admiration, yet she could only smile back sadly, for Lily hopes the woman never has to go through what she has gone through and what had molded her to be the woman she is now.
  • Lyse Crofte: A hyuran woman---most likely Highlander---who bares the title of "crate percher." Lily does not know much about Lyse, save for the obvious connection she has with Garrett and Aerius. As a friend and comrade-in-arms, she finds Lyse reliable, and candidly honest, qualities that Lily herself exhibits. They may not agree on certain things, but their standing with each other is far from unfriendly; verily, Lily could trust Lyse with her life if it came down to it.
  • Silonon Chandra: A mercenary for hire that has some sort of connection with Trisselle. Beyond that, Lily does not know much of the Midlander, and the same could be said of Silonon's knowledge of Lily. This does not stop her from working with him, when chance allows.
  • Zuka Eclairon: An acquaintance of Silonon's, who seems honest to a fault, a trait Lily herself often exhibits. The Lalafell thinks of Lily as "cute," though Lily seems indifferent to the concept itself, as much as the compliment is appreciated. There is still much she does not know about Zuka, though in the future, that is likely to change.
  • Pelhi'a Bhajiri: An individual that wears a melancholy expression, Lily is both intrigued and saddened as to what could plague such a person so. Though, ever the polite one, she has kept her curiosity in check, for it is not proper to ask of one's past when Lily is reluctant to divulge her own.
  • Gileos Mileos: A Lalafell Lily had the pleasure of meeting under...strange circumstances. Their acquaintanceship began when Lily used her knowledge of combat and basic medical expertise to mend a dislocated shoulder. Gileos's father also apparently was with the Immortal Flames, thus curiosity fell upon the Lalafell at once.

    • "Eh. She's okay. She has mean hook though." - Tayn Zolin
    • "I never thought I'd see her again...but I'm very glad I did. There is more depth to that woman than people realize, if only they'd choose to stand by her and learn it. She is one of my best friends...I'm very lucky." - Alothia Starkwood

    • "Lily is barely contained fire housed in steel that's been tempered for years. We don't know each other that well, but I don't think anyone can deny she's got a spirit that reaches for the Heavens and won't take no for an answer when it concerns the people she cares about." - Lyse Crofte
