Chaotic Neutral [edit] Personality Character Interactions OOC Notes P E R S O N A L I T Y Nailah as a person is a woman used to the rhythm of the world. She usually puts up a facade of smiles and pleasant conversation when she is out and about, for reasons she seems to have forgotten. She enjoys meeting new people, and is always game for talking about business of various sort. Should one be persistent enough to break through her barriers, one would find a Nailah that is showing signs of wear of the years. Her job isn't an easy one, and she finds it hard to leave her worries go and relax. She misses elements of her past dearly, and may seem much like a flickering flame, but a flame that is clinging on nonetheless. Her biggest passion is her company, she owes it a lot for practically saving her life, and will go to great lengths to keep it safe. The same can be said about her closest friends, she is fiercely loyal until someone proves that they do not deserve her loyalty. L I K E S ■ Wine -- Nailah is quite fond of wine. She prefers red, but has a collection that includes other types, of both pre and post-calamity. She isn't a deadly serious connoisseur, but she does have a good idea of what good and bad wine tastes like. ■ Meeting new people -- Nailah enjoys mingling & making new friends. ■ Good food -- She appreciates a well made meal ■ Honesty -- It makes life easier ■ Loyalty -- It's good to be able to trust and rely on people ■ Fire -- She finds fire both fascinating and beautiful. D I S L I K E S ■ Liars -- If you let people catch you in the lie, you deserve the reprocussions ■ Rain -- Being around Thanalan so much has given her a disliking to rain, because it never happens conveniently. ■ Hangovers -- She's not overly prone to them, but when she does get them, they really hurt. ■ Commitment -- Nailah tends to shy away from the purest form of commitment. It makes her nervous, uncomfortable and when it involves another person, it scares her. ■ Death -- She has experienced many losses already, and they plague her endlessly. ■ Insanity -- She has lost her mind to paranoia once, and she greatly dislikes even the slightest hint of it reappearing. H A B I T S  &  S K I L L S Quirks/Vices ■ Alcoholism -- Nailah's biggest vice is that she is an alcoholic, though presently she is managing it. She does not tend to get drunk, but prefers being tipsy over sobriety. ■ Self-doubt -- "Did I make the right choice?" is a question that often pops up for her, and she can't always answer. A second vice, and one she could tolerate to live without. Abilities/Skills ■ Trading -- She knows the best ways to haggle, and is savvy on the price on many a thing. She carries items around to this day that she would be willing to trade, if the right offer came along. ■ Thraumaturgy -- Though late to discover her talent for the magics, Nailah does hone some basic skills in Thraumaturgy after she graduated from the guild in Uldah. She does however, not feel confident enough to fight with her skills. ■ Hunting/Trapping -- She is talented with a bow, but she prefers to trap her prey these days. She's an avid hunter of the silver fox, because of the value of it's fur, but she also believes that nothing should be wasted, so she will always seek to sell or make use of the whole kill. ■ Spirituality/Religion. Nailah is not the most devout follower of the Twelve you'll come by. She appreciates blessings, and she has visited sites of the Twelve on occasion, but she is not one to pray. ■ Politics. Nailah is not interested in politics, growing up in Ul'dah has taught her that the coin is what matters, and she isn't phased with trying to accumulate enough to have a say with anything. A P P E A R A N C E ■ Body: Well shaped, she's got curves and seems one that is used to moving fast. Her strength is undeniably present with how her muscles are visible, but she is not completely buff. ■ Skin: Fair, almost pale at times, though she tends to have a tan from her time under the thanalan sun. Around her face, odd hints of her age exist, almost subtly so. ■ Hair: Her hair is well kept in a naturally deep red shade, she tends to wear it tied up or braided for convenience. ■ Eyes: She has grey eyes, but she can see color just fine. ■ Scars: Nailah has quite an assembly of scars from her life. The worst ones are those on her left shoulder, a cascade of burned skin with a surgical scar running along the top, seemingly stemming from a procedure to save her mobility. She also has several scars on her back from knife wounds, branding-like burns and lashings. Her hands have scars that tell of accidents with her utility knife. ■ Clothes: Nailah prefers materials like cloth and leather when it comes to her clothes. One of the best tailors she knows resides in Limsa, and as such her clothes can often have a limsan seafaring look to them, even if she doesn't get in touch with the sea a whole lot. She prefers darker colors. ■ Jewelry: Nailah does not own much jewlery, and is usually only seen wearing some simple earrings and a necklace. ■ Distinguishing Features: Nailah has a tattoo on her cheek, which she further defines with longer lasting facepaint. It has become somewhat of a ritual for her to refresh it, and she connects it all with a deep feeling of courage. I N T E R A C T I O N S Feel free to leave a rumor here! Roleplay Preferences: What I am totally alright with: Plots! I am also quite happy to provide NPC's for plots and events. Both good and evil. Random walk-ups, all of my characters are approachable. You can also prod me to arrange for our characters to bump into each other. Please respect though, that I might not always have time. Engage in Mature RP, defined as violence, stuff of sexual nature, drug use and so on. Giving requested feedback on lore-related stuff for backgrounds. I consider myself to know a good amount of it, and I like to help, but you should know that I might not always say what you'd like to hear. What I am not totally alright with: ERP'ing for the sake of ERP. It has to fit in for the characters story for it to happen. Engage in relationship RP on Nailah. This is well reasoned in her personality, but for clarity's sake I am highlighting it. Agree to the death of one of my characters, unless thoroughly planned out. My alts might die if they can not get out of a severe pickle, but Nailah is not to be considered into that. Accept the use of Fantasia ICly, and similarily racechange of other origins. I consider Fantasia a non-canon item, and I've yet to see any lore-proof way of racechanging otherwise. If you do it to your character, I will - out of respect and in an effort to continue the RP - assume they always were the race you changed into. If it is something your character has done prior to meeting one of mine, please consider not bringing it up icly to one of my characters. Engage in RP that significantly breaks the bounds of lore, to a degree where it messes a lot with my characters view of the world. Break the line between IC and OOC, nor do I feel comfortable roleplaying with someone if that line is broken. Background Background Nailah was born into a time of trouble, where uncertainty and fear weren't uncommon in Ala Mihgo, the great City State of the Highlanders. She was the youngest child in a pack of three, to her Highlander mother and Midlander father. They had met within the field of keeping people safe, and continued to work as that in the first few years of Nailah's life. When the King of Ruin fell, however, the turmoil that followed and preceded the Garlean takeover was too much for her parents to handle, and they were subsequently killed. Strangers found Nailah and her two elder siblings, though she had been separated from them, and as such they were sent to different orphanages. Nailah ended in Ul'dah, too terrified to say her own name. She was given the name Sastra by her caregiver at the orphanage, and she continued to live here for all of her childhood, with memories from her time in Ala Mihgo fading into the subconsciousness of her mind. Sometime around her thirteenth year, Nailah was faced with no other option but to move away from the orphanage. She'd become too old to stay, and as a last act of kindness, the orphanage gave her several options to find work and mentor-ship in Ul'dah. But neither the crafts nor the guilds of arm caught her interest. Rather, she chose to seek outside of the walls, with no knowledge of what dangers that was out there. That she survived her first night, and the moons to follow, was down more to luck than her skills. She did however start to pick up on tips and tricks, and after some years of making it on her own, she came upon a settlement that hesitantly allowed her to stay for a number of years. It was here that she met the love of her life, where she matured and honed her skills to her own kind of mastery, and it is where she realized that no matter how much love she felt for a place -and it's people, the wanderlust would always overcome her in the end. PC Rumors Relations ◢ PC Rumors (Rumors from the character's of other players) ■ She is... controversal... sometimes she is greatly respected by some, and then again sometimes her decisions are greatly disapproved by some people of our Kin. I have to admit that i myself often swayed in my opinion about her. I disagreed with her often, and everytime my opinion of her dropped, but in hindsight i realize that was because i was biased in these topics we disagreed upon. Some people see her unfit to lead, or outright think the decisions she makes are mad, but i came to realize that we might simply underestimate her. She is not dumb, sure she makes mistakes sometimes, but who doesn't.
