Ex-Flame Nicknames Zan The Hat That Walks Relatives Oboju Noboju (Father) Ixion Quintox (Mother) Yanyan Zanyan (Sister) General Zanzan Yanzan is an aspiring adventure and Thaumaturge in training. The son of a Dunefolks Lalafell, Ixion Quintox, and a Plainsfolk Lalafell, Oboju Noboju, two experienced mages which contributed to Zanzan's natural talent for magic. Born and raised in La Noscea, he lived among a lively and diverse environment with people of far-reaching cultures which in turn fed into his curiosity of the world and his open and welcoming demeanor after his experience with individuals from different walks of life. His life was relatively normal though worry came to his family when he began to show an unstable connection to the aether which began his training in the art of magic as a way to control it. However, his family's life took a turn as the Calamity hit, resulting in the death of Oboju during his earlier years. Currently, he travels and explores the world, aiding any in search of need all the while taking up contracts to support himself and his family, and previously before, underneath the colors of the Immortal Flames. He hopes that one day he'd be able to settle down and find a new place for his family but currently, lives on the path of the road. However, he'll never stop in making Eorzea and the lands beyond a safe place for all. Appearance and Attributes A Lalafell of average height and wild, earthy brown hair. The most oddest of his features are his green and blue eyes which are shared yet reversed with his twin sister. He often wears a warm expression, meeting everyday with a smile and commonly refers to himself as "dashing". He commonly wears a large, weathered coat, which is interiorly lined with scales for added protection, hiding most of his physical features if his hat (or hats) hadn't accomplished that in the first place. Many may assume that the Lalafell is young, if his appearance did not confuse the non-popotos already, due to his lively demeanor though his deeper and smoother voice immediately betrays that initial thought. He speaks with a light La Noscean accent (common in seafaring folk) though usual his manner of speaking is closer to that of a traveling bard, possibly contributed by his love for story-telling and extensive book reading. Behavior An open, friendly, and welcoming individual, greeting most individuals like friends, even if they were total strangers, a trait he had adopted from being raised by his father. However, this does not mean his is easily swayed and is naturally perceptive to emotions and behaviors which may be contributed by his curious and observant nature. He approaches most jobs with overwhelming optimism, at least, openly, another trait passed by down his father. While he has child-like energy, he meets most occasions with maturity and respect. Though that isn't to say that the Lalafell isn't completely in control of his emotions. One may find him stubborn in his philosophies and does not hold back on his expression of emotions whether display of sorrow relating to uselessness or one of anger due to dishonesty shown by his peers. Combat Error creating thumbnail: File missing While Zanzan is naturally talented in Thaumaturgy, it doesn't matter much without more experience and study in the field. Due to his aetherial imbalance, he often attempts to stabilize his channeling with two scepters that could be attached by their hilts to form a staff. He also shows himself as an agile and quick individual though that may come from him being a Lalafell avoiding larger predators than actually being learned from close combat. One wouldn't expect a mage to experience episodes of aetherial sickness. However, it is a different case for Zanzan due to his aetherial imbalance and the instable connection he has to the aether. Extensive casting of spells may result in an aetherial burst of energy which, while may be potentially beneficial in defeating enemies, could infuse his body with more aether he could handle. In addition to this, he is also currently looking to train in close-quarters combat in hopes that it'll increase his physical fortitude and as a back up in the case that his magic fails him. The man was cheerful and out-going, meeting every passerby with a smile and friendly chat; one might say his hearty laugh can radiate an aura of warmth to nearby persons. However, Oboju was a mage, often diving into dangerous work as it comes with the nature of his job. In the end, some may say that it lead to his passing. As the Calamity struck all across La Noscea, he was rendered unable to rejoin his family after the destruction brought by Bahamut. "I miss you, Pa..." Not much is known about Ixi to the public aside from her name; not many even know of her family, and her experience as a mage. It can be said that this older lalafell, and mother of two children, is both stern and caring. After the Calamity, she immediately found work with several free companies in order to support Zanzan and Yanyan until they were mature enough to set off on their own path. You can say she has also found new love and recently married... to her job. '"Mum, please. You need not remind me again for the hundredth time!"' Yanyan shares much with Zanzan such as a love for travel and adventure, a friendly and welcoming nature along with a natural talent for in channeling the aether. Yanyan demonstrates a better ability to channel a stable flow of aether unlike her brother whose magic is potentially more powerful but unstable. Not only has Zanzan been captivated by her appearance and culture, he has also been enjoying her company. They have grown rather close and he hopes that they may weave their own story together. She has peaked Zanzan's interest in learning more of the Au Ra. A strong-headed individual, it is to no surprise that Oboju took her up as part of his crew. After Zanzan was dismissed from the Morbolvine's clan grounds at the time of Miah's death, Kiht was kind enough to allow the Lalafell to stay with her own clan during his visit to Gridania and the Shroud. Kirkirik, being polite and formal as ever yet again, has taken up a promise from Ixi to watch over her son while Zanzan appreciates the lalafell's company during his travels. They undertook several contracts together until Miah found it in herself to settle down and lead her clan as Matriarch of the Morbolvine Clan in which Zanzan assisted with. She claims to have been a Lalafell once before though Zanzan is quite not sure he should believe such a story... yet. She appears to enjoy Zanzan's telling of tales and treats the Lalafell almost like family. Zanzan is inspired by both her dedication and honor in addition to her aspirations in life. Now his own person by her eyes, she is there to support him in any way she can, but maintains her distance, holding her big sister instincts from thwarting his growth as an individual. ♥ Markus Krosse : Dragoon from the Ishgard and one of her best friends, Markus and Leanne were quite close to each other, supporting each other’s back at any given moment. As time went by, their lives took separate roads and although the connection is there, they do not talk as frequently as before. ♥ Ralena Tharin : Former best friend of Leanne, Ralena was one of the first connections Leanne made in Ul’dah. Leanne deeply misses her. ♥ Spahro Llorn : Journalist from the Tonberry Lantern, and one of the most bizarre friendships. Leanne is very resistant to Spahro’s antics, rarely losing her cool with the eccentric keeper. Despite their strong opposite personalities, Leanne likes Spahro, considering her as one of the truest friends she has. ● Ha'uruh Nunh : A seeker that acts like a big brother towards Leanne, bringing some ease into her heart. She respects him a lot, but such fact does not stop her from pulling pranks nor joking at his expense, never forgetting to say sorry afterwards. ● Klynzahr Iyrnahctwyn : Leanne met Klyn during a sun midst the Grindstone, a conversation marked mostly by the roegadyn making fun of Leanne's short stature. She's the cautious to Leanne's daring, although too much for the seeker's taste as it shows some glaring flaws, the most obvious being the paranoia. ● Leih'a Relanah : Friend of hers and Markus, Leanne developed a knack for threatening him in one way or another, consequence of his usual mishaps. Such jest though is just an act of care, and Leanne care for her friend a lot. ● Aya Foxheart : Bartender of the Quicksand, Leanne and Aya have a nice friendship, both holders of a cheerful, slightly mischievous personalities. ● Elise Wolfe : They started a conversation at rocky terms as Elise had stolen an object that became target of Leanne's interest, their bartering clearly showing signs of hostility. Past that, a friendship managed to bloom between both, one that Leanne wishes to but is hesitant to nurture, as the woman seem to harbor deeper feelings. ● Oscare Iono : Grumpy highlander and friend of Leanne's, she loves to nag at him to be more sociable. In return, she's easy target to his jests, although having her comeuppance every now and then. Whenever he's around, she makes an extra effort to get a smile out of him. ● Sharla Blackberry : Once a sultansworn, once known as Shas Tarry. A friend, and once a minor mentor figure, Leanne does not know what path Sharla treads right now, but she does not like it. ● Coatleque Crofte : Another sultansworn, the interactions between Leanne and Crofte hangs from formal to very casual. Once she was afraid of approaching the woman, whose atmosphere exudes of authority, but not anymore. ● Devereau Beauregard : Fancy elezen, wearer of lavender, and a man Leanne is fascinated with, from the eloquent words that brings her admiration and envy to his distinct approach and interpretation of the Wanderer's teachings. Every single meeting with him has Leanne doing her best to mimic the expert word smithing of his. ● Orrin Halgren : Dragoon from Coerthas, they met by coincidence in the Churning Mists, at the time a place seldom visited by any of the Five Races. Sensing his thoughtfulness about the whole Dragonsong War, she felt inclined to pushing into 'opening' his mind. She has yet to discern the entirety of his personality, yet it didn't stop her from considering the knight a friend to count on. ● Kiht Jakkya : Matron of the Shroudwolf clan and a woman with quite a different attitude from Leanne. Through their conversations, it was shown a lingering envy from both parties for certain attributes held by one, but not by another. Having differing views, their talk is still considerate and respectful. Opinions are only opinions, after all. ● Ninifae Nira : Girlfriend of her best friend, Markus, and a friend of Leanne, also. Her overly logical approach always prompts Leanne to take a jab at her, through mischief or finding holes and exceptions to the rule. ● Cliodhna Eoghan : Engineer of the Red Wings, their chat tends to be extremely casual, although interesting subjects always arises from time to time, be Leanne's "incident" at her bachelorette party, or the fact that the highlander grew a drake and named him Habanero. The normalcy is welcome to Leanne's somewhat crazy life, although it can't be denied, the seeker is very curious of the Clio's secrecy about her job. ● Franz Renatus : A garlean Leanne met, it took a while for her to discover his homeland, yet such discovery didn't deter Leanne of continuing her friendship, instead giving her a lot of curiosity, not only about the man itself, but about Garlemald too. She likes to consider herself a close friend of his. ● Verad Bellveil : Source of laughs and also frustration, the dubious salesman strikes her as an honest, yet eccentric man. Valiant certain times, more often than not cowardly, somewhat serious, yet irreverently goofy, Leanne is fond of his presence, even if said presence causes frustration to no end. ● Edda Eglantine : Another friend of hers, the several times Leanne saved Edda from the dangers she got herself into thrust Leanne into being extra-protective of her well-being. ● Jancis Milburga : A woman Leanne trusts implicitly, for her kind nature and sweet words are just glimpses of an even warmer soul. ● Natalie Mcbeef : Late sultansworn, and Leanne's last opponent on her first victory in the Grindstone. Her once dear friend is now a bittersweet memory, reminding the girl of the duplicitous nature that people can hold. ● Roysia Stone : Past lover of Leanne, their break-up hurt Leanne more than she was able to cope with, sending her straight into depression. Past such issue though, Leanne misses the hyur. ● Koporo Aporo : A yet to be sultansworn Leanne chats with sometimes. She respects his determination, his idealism and chivalry, yet sees a glaring flaw in his temper and headstrong behavior. ● Atrium Crow : An undead she met during an incident. Last Leanne heard of Atrium, she was trying to fit in society. Leanne hopes she did. ● Jana Ridah : One of her few friendships within the Ul'dah armed forces, Leanne considers Jana as particularly quirky. Every so often she disagrees with her, be Jana shying away from crowds, being too eager to kill or to attain as per Leanne's mind the random revenge of the week, or simply using Leanne as a shield to hide herself from other people. Doesn't stop Leanne from liking her though. ● Jameson Taeros : The only man person that Leanne truly thought of killing for nothing else other than anger. He is dead, not by her hand though, and although she is satisfied with his end, she regrets that it did not come sooner. ● Evangeline Primrose : An elezen Leanne considers weird, their relationship is rocky at best as Leanne tries to respect Eva’s opinions but completely disagrees with her methods and actions, resulting in attrition.
